I am sort of newb at this stuff and don't follow closely but I just hate all the bloatware and crap on my note 3 (att)
I use to use CM with my older phone. is there a stable CM (what is it on now 11?) for note 3? Or something similar?

No, there is no stable version yet. However, you can try out the nightlys. Download them from here:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hlte
You should try temasek's unofficial cm11 build...instruction and discussion here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687074
There's plenty of stable(ish) custom cm based ROMs that should suit your needs.

I got my Nexus 4 yesterday and I've been using an S3 for a month or so running CM 10.1
Should I flash CM 10.1 on my Nexus 4, or will there be a new version that will soon be released pertaining to 4.2.2?
How stable is CM on the Nexus 4? I had a few issues with it on the S3. Will it be as reliable as stock?

The CM ROM for the N4 is stable, I've been using it for a while and haven't had any problems.
I think the latest nightly has the 4.2.2 updates in it already.
Which ROM to use is kind of personal though and depends on what you want, take a look at the ROMs in the threads and you will see quite a few choices, and then there are even a lot of different kernels too so there are plenty of choices.
Rasbean Jelly or Xenon HD. Both are stable as can be.

I personally love SlimBean. Right now I'm using my Slim-Star ROM (PM me for details and download link) which is based off of SlimBean.

In these kind of threads a lot of ROMs always are mentioned. I think you can better take a look around the forum and decide for yourself.

I found the best ROM for me by installing the popular ones for a few days each then picking the one I liked the most.
I'm using PA 3+ (ParanoidAndroid), It's CM 10 based, this rom has Hybrid UI (Table UI, Stock UI, etc) and have a lot of colors improvements and the best feature is the PIE control that is really awesome.
You can check PA 3+ here and you can check the development forum for all the other roms available.
Good Luck! =)
I'll probably just go with CM since its what I'm used to. Don't have time right now to try a bunch of different things.
My phone currently isn't rooted. Can someone link a good guide on how to root and install CM?
No

If you want to do the process yourself here is the guide, if not here is a toolkit.
And here is CM 10.1 with instructions.
Good Luck and Enjoy! =)
Cm10.1 4.2.2 no doubt

I don't like CM10. I find stock smooth, and I think when RasbeanJelly is updated to 4.2.2 base, you should use that.
Guys, is there a possibility that MIUI V5 will support our new phone? I really want MIUI with TW Framework on my Note 3. Thanks.

There is already for note 2,
Theres always a possibility seeing as they have done it for note 1 and 2,
I made the same post 10 minutes before this one :L

Unfortunately it may takes a while because the MIUI v5 is currently based on 4.2.2 but not 4.3, but GN3's stock roms are 4.3
That is why there is already MIUI roms for galaxy S4 (stock roms are 4.2)
So maybe we have to wait until MIUI develops a 4.3 version (MIUI v6?)

Really thought there would be a wiff of Miui by now atleast for the N9005 Snapdragon ? The note 3 is a great device but because off development I'm starting to regret not waiting for the S5 as I only got my note end of Des

Be happy with your note 3. The S5 was a disaster and a straight up dissapointment. Note 3 is a better phone of the 2. The only differences are that the S5 is waterproof and a minimal margin better cpu. you won't feel the difference.
Not disappointed with the phone I'm talking about development. You can bet your bottom dollar two months after the S5 release we will see MIUI and many other Roms on it as people are going to flock to it. What is very disappointing from the note 3 is it hasn't got half the development that the Note 2 have and the phone is already 6 months old

Good things to those who wait hopefully. One of the reasons why I picked myself up a Note 3 was because the Note 2 was so hugely popular with a myriad of custom ROMs available. Thank Samsung for KNOX which has kind of put a dampener on the developement of ROMs and porting of them too IMO

my thoughts exactly...note 3 did not get that many custom roms heck even PA is not available for the note 3 and some developers are already moving on to newer devices....still it is a free service and i am happy for what i got with the snapdragon variant and a moment of silence for the exynos guys

PA just need a Legacy Maintainer is all, if you want you can compile it and release it. They'll allow it. They officially maintain Nexus devices only. Hence other brands being Legacy. (PA is a very small team, hence them asking on G+ for legacy maintainers)
I am sure I read that miui is in closed beta testing for our phone. Had to have so many miui credits before u could apply as tester though.

Dear Developers and Other Forum members,
I was thinking, Since the Mi3 is released with almost the same hardware as the Note 3.
Is there a possibility to port MIUI to the GNote 3?
I really like MIUI and so do many others i think.
I would like to hear from some of the devs if they want to make this possible for the Galaxy Note 3 .
MIUI is however Android 4.3 based. So some porting needs to be done i think. Since anyone is running sammy KK or CM KK.
System Dump of Mi3 WCDMA Version(Snapdragon 800 variant) can be found here: http://bigota.d.miui.com/4.3.7/miui_MI3W_4.3.7_14adb1028c_4.3.zip
Greetings,
Paul
I can't wait for miui to be supported on the note 3, but I believe that till miui update there version to miui v6 (4.4) we won't see it running on our notes jest yet.

I sent a pm to an admin of miui official site, hope for some good news. I'm a beta tester member for the HTC One and hope for the GN3 too!
Let's hope for MIUI V6 then. I come from the GS3 which always ran MIUI. Before that i had a Note 1 and a Galaxy S 1. All running MIUI. Now i have a Note 3 without it.
My Note 3 is not Note 3 when MIUI is not around
MIUI has only just been ported to the Nexus 5 - and it's a user port with many many bugs, it'll be quite a while before someone manages it for the Note in all honesty.
I don't think it will happen...... No developer is interested in miui anymore :crying:

Why use MIUI when it not passes 4.3 and only for xiaomi. I think people that expends so much money on a phablet like N3 and then throw away all of the nice features that this phone was built for... I think you should consider buy thos chineese clones and claim them for MIUI!

Yes MIUI V5 is 4.3 so we will only see MIUI if they decide to go to 4.4(MIUI V6) .But NO you won't loose features that this phone was built for as MIUI for the previos notes was build using TW as a Base
apparently there is hope only LTE version (
Since the 4.4 Version of Miui (v5) has been released today for the MI3 (which is almost identical to the note 3)... shouldn't porting be quite easy now? I tried starting my own port but sadly I didn't get it past the bootscreen logo so far. Still tinkering however... :-/
I'm gonna risk life and limb and follow directions from miui to try and port this....no promises though.

True official MIUI is built off CM base.
Note 2 has official MIUI 4.5.16
Note 1 has official MIUI 3.2.22
The ports you see were made by MIUI patchrom software and were not official. So most likely when CM is stabilized, we may see traces of MIUI.

Not correct. MIUI for the HTC One is based on stock Sense ROM. Same with Galaxy S4 its based on stock TW ROM. From what I know so far MIUI for the Note 3 will be based on stock TW ROM too.
I'm a mod at MIUI official site and got this info for the Note 3 from the admin.

Honestly that kinda sucks. My friends with Xiaomi phones experience MIUI with no 'base ROM' and it is lovely.
I'd prefer a CM base with MIUI but if they start taking TW, Spen would be here but I'd give it no chance on my phone as they stick with the clutter Samsung made.
I guess you could say that it's good as Spen is retained and they don't have to wait for CM bugs to be ironed out, but as I've been a follower of MIUI and I've been on the original Chinese forums posting actively on many of my old devices in Chinese, CM was always the best opt for me and anything in between was just a port.
I really hate TouchWiz and after looking into X-Note I'm still not on that bandwagon. So what ROM should I be looking for, for stock Android? I would say CyanogenMod but idk if that has a stable Note 3 build. I could be wrong though so thats why I'm reaching out to the XDA Community. Thanks.

If I understand you correctly, you want something aosp'ish, more like the google experience? Im not too fond of touchwiz either so I'm running carbon ROM and I think its pretty stable.. They do have cm nightlife though and I think they're fairly stable.

Hello XDA. I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 with CyanogenMod 11 and love it. However I want something different. I need a ROM that isn't AOSP based or based on TouchWiz. All I could find were MIUI V5 which I have tried also and Ubuntu Touch which is cool but a lot of things are not working. I need a different ROM from the rest and doesn't have a lot of bugs. Is there anything that isn't Android or something that is but looks WAY different? :cyclops:
