There is a way on LG G2 D802 to show screen on car screen?
Any cable or something? Thanx.
I had in my car usb connection that works with iphone, that sync music and contact. It can used with lg g2 too?
You need to do the investigation about what you car "screen" supports since you don't provide any info. In general the answer is no. Very few aftermarket radios have Mirrorlink built in. I am not aware of car radios with HDMI inputs, to be able to use a Slimport adaptor. If your radio has composite video input you can go Mirrorlink/Slimport to HDMI->composite adapter to radio but it's going to be rather clunky with all the cables and power adapters unless you can find a way to hide them behind the dash.

I was at the car stereo place and found nearly every headunit with a USB port in the front saying that it is compatible with an iPod or iPhone. Question is, have any of you guys tried hooking it up to a Android device? Does it charge? Will it fry my cellphone? I'm leaning towards a Kenwood headunit but just wondering if there are any precautions. Thank you

You should be fine. I doubt it would damage the phone as most smart phones have similar power requirements/charging methods these days. The iPhone's cables are just normal USB cables with a special plug on one end and an Apple logo so they can charge more. Most things labelled "For iPhone/iPod" work just fine on Android devices.
Anyone with a USB port on their headunit using a Android phone?
My Honda has a USB port for the stereo. It does not allow the me to use the phone to control audio through USB as this is not supported like it is on iPod (same with any Android phone, has nothing to do with Nexus S in particular) but it does work in Mass Storage Mode and allows me to control audio through the head unit.
All of this is moot anyway as the best solution is to use a car mount and connect through the 3.5m stereo out to the AUX input. I can then not only use Last.fm and Navigation sounds through the stereo, but also phone call audio gets passed through. It's pretty much awesome and makes me glad I did not spend the extra $1200 on the in dash GPS/touchscreen head unit with bluetooth.
Hi All
I have a problem which I need some advice. I have a LG g2 and I am using a Slimport adapter.
If I start GPS without plugging into HDMI it works and finds sat quite quick.
Once I plug in HDMI after 10-30 seconds I loose GPS and it wont find it at all.
I have tried a cheap and expensive Slimport and have tried powering the Slimport as well but no difference.
I use my slimport to use with Appradio on my pioneer avh-8500bt. But I have tried it both in the car and at home on my tv i get the same problem. When using at home on my tv I do not need to power the Slimport but in car I have to otherwise i get no video.
Its like the slimport is causing some kind of interfernce or it turns off gps. I am using oem rom and phone is rooted. On android 4.4.2.
Any help is great as I am now stuck and would love to use GPS in the car!
Thanks
I have a slimport cable and it works great for connecting to my tv and watching stuff, but, I've just bought a new car which has a half decent screen in it (well, slightly better than the phone) and I know other android phone users have had video playing on that screen. to do it they need the phone to do all the processing (car screen to be just a dumb screen) and they use the car's usb input. So, I'm wondering ...is there any kind of slimport to usb instead of hdmi cable, or is there a male hdmi to male usb adapter that I could use to connect my slimport to the car usb slot? ideally something that's cheap as I won't know if it will work until i plug it in.
thanks for any ideas.
Hi Guys,
i want to stream spotify to my car stereo. My car is a 2011 Suzuki Swift and the only connection is USB so i connected my phone and put it in MTP. The car stereo displays "unsupported device".
As far as i know it doesn¨t work because the S4 does not support usb Mass Storage anymore.
Is there any way to get this working? I really like the S4 and buying a new car also isn¨t an option
Buy a new radio for the car that supports bluetooth music. That works great.
If that isn't an option buy an fm transmitter that plugs into your phone. The quality isn't great depending on how dense the radio signals are in your area, but it'll work.
So there is no other option?
I can¨t replace the head unit and a FM transmitter would be just another dongle in the car...
Well how about a usb stick for your music? They make large capacity ones really tiny now. You wont even notice it on the dashboard
That would be the same thing as plugging your phone in if the car is just trying to access your phone as a mass storage device. The car will just see your phone as a usb drive anyway, so just get a usb drive that you don't have to plug in each time you get in the car.
I have a Nexus 7 (2012) that I want to do a dash install with. I would like to retain my head unit (already relocated) for audio, and I have a few questions.
I mainly want the following features:
-USB Tether
-Bluetooth OBD
-Airstream (or otherwise) phone calls from iPhone through Nexus
-WIFI backup camera
-Bluetooth keyboard?
From what I've been reading it appears Timur's ROM is the way to start. It looks like with an OTG cable and a usb hub I can easily do usb tether.
I have a bluetooth keyboard that has its own USB dongle, I'm wondering if with that dongle I can be connected to the keyboard and the obd transmitter simultaneously
I saw an app that was available years ago to support airstream, but it seems to have disappeared. Does anyone know a way I can have the audio/mic go through my nexus for phone calls while driving? (Right now I use Bluetooth through my head unit)
I found the following parts, is there anything I need to avoid? Or anything I'm missing?
Tendak (Pack of 2) Micro USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) Cord Cable Adapter with USB Power for Cell Phone Tablets
ORICO MPU-5S Auto Universal converter car inverter 12V 5 port smart charger for iphone 5 5S Car Charger Adapter By AFUNTA
Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II USB Analog & Digital Audio Adapter
I'm still trying to do more research on backup cameras, and the possibility of a dash camera. If anyone has any input on any of this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance and I look forward to being a more active member of the community!
