Hi Guys,
I am using a Visual Voice-mail app on my S4 but I need to send a professional pre-recorded voice mail greeting, directly to the app.
The app will 'only' either record from the built in mic or from an external earplug / mic, neither of which are any use to me.
Does anyone have any idea how I could 'send' it directly to the app, for instance is there another app out there that would emulate the internal mic, i.e. trick the phone into thinking it was recording from the mic when it was actually being fed a voice file..??
Cheers for any ideas or help.

Tried this many years ago with my voice recording PIM... you'd need a male-male 3.5mm jack cable and another player. Just connect this player as external microphone, but be careful with volume to not burn the input...

presumably you'd need 4-pin jacks on both sides, and "player only" device. Otherwise, phone may recognize it exactly as it happened.

I need to record something through the headphone jack on the wizard and don't know what software to get at all. Any recommendations would be great. I have windows mobile 6 TNT 4.0.
I don't know if they work for that, but you can try Resco Audio Recorder or Vito Audio Notes.

You should do a search (this forum, google, or other search engines for your inquiry, but I'll tell you now that there is no software that wil let you record from the ear buds jack. There might be some type of hardware out there ie: external microphone that will plug in for recording. 81252.25.11.1
I am trying to record a snazzy voice mail outgoing message on my HD2 phone.
I have everything I want in terms of words (for the voice over - which I can deliver via the input mic to the pc).
The background music already on my pc in multiple formats (for choice of quality)..
BUT when I try to play the whole thing through the pc to the output line straight into the phone's phono jack.. the phone gets the voice as if it has not been through the pc first .. it hears my voice but not along side with the other stuff.. what am I missing to make this all work.
My setup is mic into the pc, using 3.5 stereo jacks/plugs - line out to the phone.. I can hear everything just the way I want it through the pc speakers or headphones but the phone just hears my voice only as if everything was normal and records it as if I was just talking straight into the phone's own mic and by-passing the pc's job.. any pointers.. my thinking at the moment is that its a cable thing.. would I need a cable that can take the speaker output from the pc and turn it into a mic input for the phone.. I don't know I am just guessing and asking for help.. cheers..
deleted - silly off hand asumption that was incorrect
But how does a hand free unit work... when I plug in my hands free set, the mic and headphones work ... is there some sort of crossover in the internal wiring of the plug that goes in.
What I find strange is that the setup I describe above - mic into pc - output into a dual phone plug (one for the mic in and one for the audio out) allows the phone to function as a hands free but any additions from the pc between the mic in and the line out are lost and the phone only hears my normal voice as if I was talking straight into it and that just seems weird as in the headphones I can hear all that is happening with the pc but it just won't go into the phone just the headphones.. anyway thanks..
Hmm, hadn't thought of that, and of course you're right.
I would suspect then that the computer isn't merging the two sounds, and you need to look at the 'mixer' controls on your PC and check the mic AND system AND master out are all active.(mixer out volume controls are not the same as the mixer IN/volume sliders that come up when you click the speaker icon in the system tray - at least not in XP they arent.)
I would suggest that you try using the speaker out from the pc to the phone instead of the line out.
Think I have it sussed now. When you plug in the hands free, the mic part of it shuts off the internal mic on the phone but this is especially true when you go Bluetooth.. as I have found that with with my basic mic plug, the internal mic was still working but under Bluetooth conditions it is totally switched off.... thanks for your input..
ey, i have notice that there are many people with the problem of input jack...
so i had think if is possible develope an application that force the headphones to work only when i want listen the music with the headphones, and when i finished return to speaker modality. Now i have fixed the problem using a wire took from an old usb cable to connect the gold connectors in the input jack as suggest in other topics, but if i put the headphones in the jack input do not work. any idea?
I used the method
Development of tin at the exit from the handset
And adjust the sound and everything
A temporary solution

When you use the headset of Foreign Affairs
Must remove the tin
And I do not like using the headset it is not a foreign problem for me
The presence of tin device works fully
Internal speaker, speaker, radio, television and video all the voices
Hi all,
When i'm driving, my phone is always connected to the headphone jack, so i can listen to spotify over my car's radio ^^
But when i receive a call, the phone always routes the audio output to the internal speaker, which is rather useless in this situation
Is it somehow possible to route the sound to the headphone jack, when receiving a phone call? Maybe some kind of a kernel patch?
Would make a good replacement for a hands-free kit

Yes, this is something I should implement soon in Voodoo sound.
In skype, I could make voice calls using a headphone without microphone. Skype all automatically uses the built in microphone.
Now, how do we make dialer the same?

What I do to fix this problem is to use a Nokia headset adapter since Nokia uses the same 4 pin configuration as Samsung and it works.
I don't really think this can be fixed software wise... I would be pleasantly surprised if it was

Thanks for your fast response . I would also donate for such a feature. Maybe you can pm me, when it's available.
Btw, thanks for your great work. Love the Voodoo Kernel

Sounds interesting! Can you provide the model name of the adapter or maybe provide a link?
Take a look at this
It works as well

Haven't you heard the news?
You can't make audio/video calls on Skype yet, no microphone is supported as of today.
You can only use it for IM.
apk is here

It has been said a lot about those mics in that thread, but the OP made 2 different opinions about using skype. The other users only used those mics with Voice Recording(Tape-a-talk app I think), nobody was able to make a call with skype.
Could you please share your experience with the 3 pins microphone? (I haven't got any of them so I can't try)

Crashes for me as well. I was hopeful given the threads about 3 pin mic support. I have extra headsets--if you dm I'll send you one.
I only tried voice calling the Echo / Sound Test Service, and it doesn't crash. However, it does just hang up after it rings.
I was able to launch the Skype apk attached to this thread successfully. It allowed me to make an outgoing call with the Fire and using the Edutige EIM-001 mic, but it disconnected the call a second or two after I picked up the call on my cell. I wasn't able to hear my voice when I called my cell since it disconnected so quickly. Unfortunately this is a mic only with a TRRS connector so the speakers are disconnected when it is plugged in. I am going to do some tests to see if I can rig the mic to work without causing Fire speaker disconnect. I still have to test with Google Voice.
I would be interested to know about it very much. So far I have no luck to make a call using mic
I been working on the mic problem all night. So far I think this tablet is missing something. Skype loads but wen making a call it does not see a mic at all.
Changing settings I have got the mic to work with a recorder for a test done a 20 min voice test no problems at all. But other apps like talking tom so on give error of no mic found.
Still working on this but not seeing what the problem could be.

I have a successful call using Google Voice but unfortunately only one direction
I mean I could make a call and the other party could receive this call. The problem is that I could hear what that party talk but I can't get his voice. It looks that it works only incoming direction ... but it looks to me that mic itself is ok.
Anyone has has better experience?

What are the changes that you made? Were you using a standard headset mic?
Sounds promising....
I did no changes. I used mic: Universal 3.5mm In-Ear Stereo Headset w/ On-off & Mic for , HTC myTouch 4G Unfortunately I don't have enough technical knowledge to resolve the issue although it sounds promising
