don't know if these 1 is the official 1 " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016792 ". but the title is misleading. Its still referring to 4.1.2.Who would think it includes the 4.4.2 at the last 1 and half pages of that thread only..And the moderator should have given us a thread referring to as the official one, before or when he closed all those thread right?

My intention to ask is the second question, if I can downgrade after a root process to android version 4.1.2.

at least 4 hours old @ the time when happily announce "the news" were at least 3 reporting users with official JB installed
After unrooted my 7.7, update ota, success.
So far don't know how to root it. Using rootinh method like in ics, not working, failed when checking signature or something like that.
No multi window as far as i know.
Lock screen like note, with ripple effect, application shortcut, news scrolling. There is smart stay also.

Good news...
Can anybody post a link as sammobile just keeps saying loading..
I want to install with mobile odin and inject su etc to keep root access..
im glad its 4.12 and not 4.2.2 due to the issues mounting NTFS and reading it from apps..
Hopefully theres something inside to be learned for the developers of custom roms to help fix issues..
Why don,t release p6810,version?
AUs
downloading now and is 20.3kb...maybe next week i might have it lol
Would love to see the tab in JB. If anyone can upload a video or screenshots even, I'd be grateful.

How to I maintain root when I flash with odin?
you cant... if you want to maintain the root use mobile odin..
So I assume I am flashing with Odin, then downloading mobile odin, and then rooting with that?
mobile odin need root... if you are in root ics.. just download mobile odin at the original thread by chainfire... you can flash the JB files directly and retain the root
I cant tell If mine is bootlooping or not, the samsung animation keeps popping up over and over circling then pulsing. Before it just stayed pulsing the animation never started over..
EDIT: I went into recovery and wiped the cache and data and now it seems to be booting normally. I assumed odin would wipe the data i guess not..
nope odin only wipe system

If it is a new firmware then that's okay..but if u sharing an old firmware of 4.2.2 than just a duplicate forum is considered as spam on xda...be aware of that !!!.. Sorry if rude..just telling u

well you'll notice that your status drop bar have more options than 4.1.2 and when you look around you see settings are arranged into tabs as Connections, My device, Accounts and more even more much faster and does use ram more efficiently plus small amount of enhancement of performance on the device.
Please update download link not working

You need to install the official firmware that came with your phone out the box, if you are on the old bootloader then It came with 4.2.2, if it came with the new one then it came with 4.3, go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ and look for the official firmware of your phone and carrier, then download it and flash it with odin. Leaked TW 4.4.2 won't solve anything, since it is a test build it can do worse than good.

Just use the link I posted before, you just need to select the phone model and your country/carrier and download the firmware and flash it with Odin. To download the firmware from the site you'll have to make an account for sammobile.
If u still in the old bootloader, use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477

hi ,
hi ,
it seems you have a N 910F ? unlock ..etc ?
if so,read thread by dev @ _alexndr It is a repack of official stock N910F and has multi CSC ( this link )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/rom-unofficial-repacked-lollipop-t3105093
i flashed .............. ...COH4 ( v 5.1.1 ) and see it is a deodexed Rom .
He also has POF2 listed that is a v 5.0.1 Rom ( i am not sure if deodexed , but it should be ? )
Plse make sure it is correct Rom for your device .
good luck

hi,
if you are satisfied its your correct device unlock N910F, then your options is..
1 st one you upgrade to Android v 5.1.1 the other
2 nd is the same Android version you are on currently, Android v 5.0.1.
It depends what you want to do.... upgrade phone to Android v 5.1.1 or rather stay on v5.0.1 ?
i am on version 5.1.1 and see it is deodexed
as stated in my earlier post i think other Rom should also be deodexed.
If your purpose is to try and get Xposed framework onto device, i have seen in thread same thread (somewhere, with a relevant link) to a zip file for N910F for Android v5.1.1, to flash to get Xposed working.
I am not really interested in Xposed framework , as i had it on my device with certain modules, when i was still on Android v 4.4.4.. really good and cool, but it directly and indirectly "broke" stuff on my phone even after uninstalling
so i cannot help much in that direction.
it's your choice what Rom you want to flash.. the v5.0.1 or v5.1.1
Just to add since upgrading from Android v4.4.4. to Lollipop and when i was still on v 5.0.1 , I have flashed about 5 x different countries Roms.. as updated 5.0.1 versions became available (I was originally on Vodafone, but had unlock bootloader) it does not matter as long as you ave unlocked bootloader and you are sure Rom is correct one for you device N910F.
Yes of course, you must know how to flash... otherwise search XDA threads , Google or check YouTube for tutorials on subject.
good luck

hi
yes , the N910F stock deodexed v5.1.1 Rom of @_alexndr in relevant thread is a multI CSC ( UK included ) Rom .As pointed out by me in earlier post certain requirements do apply device /phone
has to be same ..Eg ... N910F and unlock bootloader
I flashed Roms from UK ,Netherlands ,Germany , NEE countries and many others etc .
A few "pointers " below .....................................
Also if not sure hows "something" is done ,search for answers ..XDA and Youtube videos helps calm the nerves .
Google is your friend if you don't understand a meaning /term or problem .
and remember common "fixes " eg .if flashing and you get into "bootloop " and don't know what to do ...check that you pc has correct drivers for phone installed ( installing KIes should install drivers) ,
your USB cable is correct not faulty , USB port is ok . Flash Rom again .
Also when downloading ROM make sure its not corrupted .( check MD5 sum of download (if available )
Do your "homework/ research " regarding what you want to do ..!!
Also be aware of the risk involved .
Don't blame other members if you " slipped up."
good luck

hi ,
i am on v5.1.1 ( same repack ) as you Yes ,i have root .
it is actually very very straightfoward .
1. first download install custom recovery TWRP vers 2.8.7.0 via odin .
Here is link to TWRP V2.8.7.0
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxynote4qualcomm.html
Choose International.... N910F to check if you happy ..right version ?
or direct download
https://dl.twrp.me/trltexx/
first top one choose "twrp-2.8.7.0-trltexx.zip 13M " download if you happy its correct ?
2. then download a permissive kernel ..it is stock kernel just that @ zamcum enable it to accept root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/kernel-5-1-1-selinux-enforcing-t3190799
link to download , is in post # Thanks to @ zamcum
3 . You can then download @ chainfire BETA SuperSU v2.49 zip link to download in first post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
( keep chainfire zip ,as a backup, if TWRP does not root device )
Instructions to follow...........
Start by opening Odin and place your phone in download mode etc and flash TWRP with ODIN
After TWRP installs and reboots etc ..(.what i did) ..don't go to TWRP recovery yet
i connected phone to laptop /pc and place mod /permisive kernel zip on root of your device .(phone )
disconnect USB from pc .etc
Switch phone off .
then "old story" to get to recovery ..... volume UP + PowerButton + Home button
Give time to boot to TWRP and navigate in TWRP menu to where you can see the kernel.zip and flash with TWRP .......after flashing TWRP will ask if you want to reboot ..."say yes " and reboot
TWRP will then offer to root your device ..Yes and let TWRP root device ...afterwards it will request to update the "binaries " yes allow ......thats it !!!!!
Otherwise if this step( TWRP not offering to root ) is missed .....you will then most probably have to flash chainfire SuperSU zip with TWRP (as the permissive kernel was flashed before ,device should then let you flash SuperSU )
Important plse note......
TWRP offered to root my device and i said yes ..thus not using chainfire zip at all !!!! it was only for backup use )
Plse note(tip )
if you "slip up/error " and get into a bootloop you'll have to flash ROM v 5.1.1 again and start again This was not necessary for me and all was plain sailing .
very straightforward !!
good luck
Bottom line... please note ,
above method will trip Knox..but yes mine was tripped in OCTOBER 2014..!!
Otherwise there is no other way around Knox at moment ..for those members who cares ??

hi, yeah, sometimes you battle to get it right.
Remember not volume down.. but volume up...!
first time i did try to get into recovery i watched a short YouTube video....on how to (way back then)
All i can say best is
Switch phone off... then with left hand above volume Up and your right hand over power and home button.
Press all three Volume up +Power button +Home button .. same time .. when phone boots.. let go of power on fist Samsung (timing is important otherwise you end up in download mode.
If you cannot get it right just Google.. something like.. "Note 4 how to boot into recovery mode /TWRP" and watch video
Its actually easy if you know.. but yes first time or so you battle..
Bottom line
is if TWRP did not.. take. Flash TWRP again and try. combo again.
If stuck.. pull battery..
If Samsung bootloop then flash Rom again
All in all it should take less than 10/20min or so to flash this......... (TWRP with Odin , flash kernel with TWRP.
Then all TWRP to root and update binaries.)
Its just like you on a learning curve.. so just relax
think positive
Good luck

Good luck

hi, yes thats understandable... you are rooted now !
You must freeze Security policy updates use Titanium(use search button in Titanium to find and freeze... . gone..!
It is this that is giving you the warnings.
Also freeze all Knox in Titanium (search)
You will find about 5....6..7 Knox clearly marked.. you can freeze them all if you are sure its knox related otherwise leave.
Knox can interfere with your root.. logic
good going
good luck
post entry
Also you will see in your app an app called Smart Manager (present in Android v5.1.1 )
If you click on it you will see 4 big icons.. bottom right with shield.. you will see.. "Threat found" and if you click on this it will tell you to reboot.. ignore.. Its just the root and stock selinux permissive kernel (which you know about ! ) (Samsung way of scaring you.)
I actually also freezed Smart Manager, will see if it causes any errors if not will keep it like that.

Thanks this is what did it for me.
Can anybody else actually confirm that they can connect AND actually navigate on the Internet. I can connect, but you aren't going anywhere and the browser just bombs out.

FYI people, you don't have to root to enjoy this hotspot mod but you do have to flash twrp recovery. The previous method with dialer code doesn't work anymore with the new MM software. But if you just want a quick and simple solution to achieve permanent unlocked native hotspot then visit my thread in the link above. Make sure you also download the correct version of TWRP and odin flash it first.

Well, this is a Note 4 thread but that's ok lol. Instead of providing you with links I am going to show you how to find this stuff correctly so that you will be able to do it next time. Teaching you how to fish, Im not being difficult lol
*Note: If you don't have the abd or Samsung drivers you will have to download those using an adb tool from xda and kies from Samsung.
From your computer:
1. Google "TWRP.ME". In the upper right hand corner click on devices and select yours. Download the latest and greatest IMG file.
2. Google "Odin xda" and download the latest and greatest of that.
3. Unzip the file. Find and right click Odin and run as administrator. Click the AP slot and load up the TWRP file that was in the zip.
4. Turn your phone off and restart it holding *Volume down +home button+power button* This will take you to "download mode". Plug it in and press volume up.
5. Press start. AS SOON AS IT FINISHES AND TRIES TO REBOOT PULL YOUR BATTERY AND LEAVE IT OUT FOR 30 SECONDS.
6. Restart by pressing *volume up+home+power* this should take you to the TWRP recovery. Perform a backup to external.
Now to root...
1. Google "Chainfire Autoroot". Go to his site and find your model number and download the zip file.
2. Unzip the file. Find and right click Odin and run as administrator. Click the AP slot and load up the CFAutoroot file that was in the zip. (this will take a minute so...)
3. Turn your phone off and restart it holding *Volume down +home button+power button* This will take you to "download mode". Plug it in and press volume up.
4. Wait for the please wait text to go away and click start.
Those steps will root your phone.
Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

I apologize if this comes off as ignorant, so to get this native hotspot feature on MM....don't you need to be rooted first before flashing the rom from tx_dbs_tx?

Didn't you say you are using a Note 5? This is the Note 4 forum and tx_dbs_tx makes ROMs for the Note 4 which should NOT be flashed on a Note 5. He did make a port of the Note 5 but this should still only be flashed on a Note 4 and NOT a Note 5
Thank you for the clarification.

I tried this by just installing twrp via odin, and then flashing the PD1 hotspot mod. This did not change the APN type settings to append to .dun.
Do I have to install your ROM first, and somehow select "no root" for this to work? I was hoping to not have to root my note 4, but will if that is the only way to regain the hotspot.
Thanks for any help, or clarification on the best way to do this.

I believe after you flash the mod with TWRP, then all you have to do is turn on hotspot and enjoy. No need to mess with APN settings
