1) Really don't understand this questions.
2) Depends on your ROM/Kernel, this phone runs a 1st gen snapdragon so some 3D games will lag no matter what, but Temple Run shouldn't, which ROM are you on?
3) Don't understand this question either.
No worries about your English, 2nd languages are really hard, but try to clarify these questions a bit more if you can.

1) I don't know which specific ones you mean, but the hardware of the HD2 is simply too old to run the newer ports well, like Jellybean and such.
2) Again, not 100% sure what you're asking here, do you mean why are that chef's ROMs better than others? If so, there's no telling. It could be his kernel and driver combination or better base or using better code and not just straight porting a ROM with broken drivers, but if you find a good chef stick with him

I think he meant to ask "Why don't all chefs meet and combine their works to make a best rom?"
In fact, it seems like a good idea, despite being hard (impossible?) to apply.
Imagine having one ROM that is perfect. Indeed "Imagine".

Well this is no "perfect" ROM, and every ROM has different preferences and settings and UI and stuff, but they all share source so you can cherry pick what you want for your ROM if you want.
It is an impractical idea.

I beg to differ. Take PACman for example, it's an AOKP, a Paranoid and a CM10 ALL in 1 ROM. Before the amazing work of Xylograph, people had to choose between the three types. Now you can have them all.
And if you think GUI would be a problem, it could be a "perfect ROM" with an add-on section. While the main rom is just a base, or a bare-bone. And there aren't really that many kinds of GUI; if you think about it, it's simply sense, miui or stock. (afaik)
Still, it's an imaginary rom .

That was my point, that chef cherry picked what he wanted from all three sources. So for YOU it might be perfect, but it is subjective in nature.
As far as the UI is concerned, you can have Sense (which is an entire framework, not just a launcher), TouchWiz, MotoBlur, Xperia, that Dell Stage UI that never really took off, MIUI, AOSP, and then all of the various themes and launchers, so it is really limitless.
some chefs like to use inverted gapps, some like to use soft keys with certain images, the choices are endless.
I guarantee you the ROM you are referring to is missing some features that other ROMs might have, but that chef cherry picked the features he liked from those sources.

Because of the old Adreno 200 GPU, it's just too old. For most games with at least 40 FPS, buy phone with Adreno 205, or mali-400, or powerVR.

No HWA, so no it isn't the best ROM for gaming at all. The difference in gaming and web browsing between 2.3 (no HWA) and 4.0+ (HWA) is unreal.
Hi all,
I do hope I am asking it in the right place (I didn't want to make a new thread at first, but the closest one I found was locked, so...).
I am willing to buy a Xiaomi MI2S phone. I already know it is only be sold in China (that isn't a problem, actually). I am mostly interested in the 32Gb version, it has really awesome specs.
I have been making a lot of research about this phone and, from what I've seen so far, feedback is positive. That is comforting, to me, but on the same page, I am directly addressing towards people who actually own this phone (or at least have tried it), what are its fails ? Is that phone as perfect as it looks ? Are there some serious flaws/inconveniences with it ?
Second, I also know that the device comes with a specific ROm (MIUI, available in both English and Chinese). I am totally fine with that, as I had a previous positive experience with MIUI roms. But I'd also like to know if, actually, it is possible to customize the phone ? I mean bootloader unlock, root ? Are there some custom roms (well I do mean Cyanogen support, or Cyanogen ports) for Xiaomi MI2S ? These aspects remains a bit unclear, and any piece of information would be much appreciated.
Thanks reading.
i'm willing to buy this phone too. When my good old LG O2x wil die (Can happen every minute ) So i also did some research.
In my langauge (Dutch) There is a lot of information about it. there is a topic on tweakers.net with lots of users who own the device. They are all very happy with it. Here you go... Ok, it's dutch.. But with the use of a translator.. I guess you can get some interesting things out of it. If not.. I could translate some pieces of text for you to english. Just PM me. Not the whole forum of course
About the ROM's. For as far as i know.. There are still no roms without MIUI.. But i'm not suprised if there are roms without MIUI. Maybe in china..
That's all i can help you with atm..
Good luck with researching
miui was modify from cm
and no other rom for mi2s now.
Hello,
I know is my first post here, but i own a MI2 (almost same specs as MI2S, last one using krait processor, better camera) since december this year.
So far nothing to complain about:
- with MIUI V5 battery last 2 full days (wi-fi on, push e-mail on, gps on)
- gps accurate about 2-3 meters
- no problem with gsm/3G signal
- display is very sharp, resistant to scratches, maybe some kind of ACG glass (drop it few times on the concrete, last time i forgot it on the top of my car and i go only plastic frame around display deform)
- sometimes it`s shut off by himself (dunno why, maybe i mess around with secondary recovery partition when it was on MIUI V4)
- no laggy at all (over 72 apps instaled)
- overall a good phone, and i like it
- i use it with the native rom and i get via OTA some updates at 2-3 weeks
sorry for my bad english, hope that helps
buy

According to the people i refered to in my previous post..www.ibuygou.com is the best shop for the Xiaomi Mi2S device, when it comes to shipping. Some people in holland say that it takes only 1 day to ship, others complain that it takes more than 3 weeks. It depends on the amount of devices they have in stock.
The prices are great btw, 300 euro / 400 dollar for the 16gb, 350 euro / 450 dollar for the 32gb variant. And max 20 dollars for import
They also have accesoires like back covers, cases, batteries etc.
How fast is the GPS locking on the Mi2S?
This is really the perfect phone, with the exception it doesnt have LTE (does it?)
I had a mi 2
Its the best smartphone in 4.3" formfactor
Fast, stable
Very good camera
Long lasting akku on (gps wlan, edge)
Out of the box fast and stable no need for custom rom
Beside miui there is a stockandroid rom with english and chinese language
Cons
3g akku drain
Thick and high weight in comparison to s3, htc one
Bad support in fact of defect or something
Sometimes bad reception
Sometimes microphone issues ( mayve only my device)

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for the positive feedback.
Well, Ibuygou seems to be a popular (and good) choice as a way to purchase the phone.
I'll consider that. Thanks for the tip.
Well, I still don't have much information about the second part of the question though. I am looking for information in the actual state-of-art on modding the phone : is there some safe ways for bootloader unlock, phone rooting ? Are there custom roms actually for Xiaomi devices, or at least, devs working on that ?
These aspects still remain a bit unclear to me, and i'd like to be enlighten on this.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Well it seems i missed natoleon's answer on that:
miui was modify from cm

There is no developers support due to lack of source code for the kernel as they refuse to follow the GPL laws. Also. Ok real development team has any respect for the MIUI crew as it is well known they take code from others and don't give anything back. For the these reasons this device will not see any development or forums here.
Wayne Tech Nexus
You can find a AOSP for Xiaomi Mi2/Mi2S here. It uses the same kernel though.

It's a spanish forum, but the rom is multilanguage. You can use Google Translator to get an idea of it's said.

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply....
i heard a rumor that Mi3 is getting launched by august 16th... is that true ? also with full HD & octa core CPU ?
above all it is priced at 320$ !!!
I am very excited & i am kind of lets wait no matter even if the earthquake happens.... what should i do man ???
Hi,
I it's up to you.
The question is, do you want BIG and heavy phone (MI3, 5" screen, fullHD) or relatively small but still veeery fast (Mi2S, 4,3" screen, 720p).
Both phones are so fast that rest of parameters doesn't matter, you don't feel the difference....
I am very happy that MI2S have only 4,3" screen, not 4,5" or bigger because I want "compact" but fast phone with 2GB ram.
So I don't care about MI3.

Hi guys !
I just wanted to share and reflect some thoughts....I have intention to complain and come off as ungreatful.
I´ve been around and flashing custm roms since about the launch of HTC Desire !
And I have stayed true to HTC with an occasional side step to Samsung S2...for a short while.
AFAIK remember with every lauch off HTC "flagship" models it usually doesn´t take long before the roms starts to pop up.
And after a couple of months or so there usallay are alot of roms to choose from. Bothe modified original ones and AOSP:ish ones.
But this time it seemse to me like there isn´t as many roms out as there usually are, by this time !
Is my memory failing me or has some thing changed ?
Is it harder to "****" roms for the M9 or has the interest in HTC models lowered ?
And again...I´m not here to complain...I´m very greatful to thoose who takes the time with the roms and when I finaly decide wich rom to use for my daly work I ALWAYS donate. I just want to share my reflections and thoughts...and see if anyone else feels the same.
(Excuse my poor english)

Well the top 5 or 6 HTC developers are here and that's what really matters. CM 12.1 is making progress and may be stable enough for daily use soon.
But yes the M9 is not selling anything like the M8 did and it shows. I believe many of the m8 owners just don't see the need to update this round. And it's a real shame, I sold my M8 for the M9 and have no regrets

thinking the same as you alot of people saying its not worth the upgrade from the m8 but it is better camera better processor more ram better ram fair enough screen is the same and design but the design is one of the best that's came out in the mobile world for years if its not broke don't fix it i my first android was the desire also loved htc for years had the m7 and still have the m8 aswell as the m9 had the s6 edge and standard s6 had to come back to htc lol if your a good enough dev you can blind build so not getting the 9 is not really an excuse to not develop for it
I'll be happy with cyanogen

9 copies of the same general rom don't really add much for me. Also with the themeing option in stock it kind of makes it a replacement for some.

It don't bother me to much. I'm happy with leedroid at the moment. It has been a great experience. I'd be happy if I can get SlimLP in the near future. That's been my go to rom for years and I miss it a lot. I have no regrets upgrading from M8
Personaly I didn´t jump on the M8 wagon...my M7 was good enough.
And as son as it was possible I did a GE conversion on the M7...and loved it !
I would love be able to run stock Android again on my M9
Having that said....HTC has come a long way with Sense 7 and finally started to listen to the user demands, and for now I´m happy with it !
ATM running MaximusHD 6.0.0 !
