it's seem tha my bootloader is already unlocked, when i put the device in fastboot in the screen said unlocked, code 3
i try with mfastboot to flash the recovery of RAZR HD, but when i reboot the device using POWER+VOL_UP in the screen appears the android robot t lying with his belly open, and if i try to push any key nothing happens... i have to push POWER+VUL_UP+VOL_DOWN to reset the device... the the device reboot in normal way.....
i use mfastboot_v2, xt926-KK-CWM-6048.img recovery.....
please help me...

that one is twrp if u like cwm try this one http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.4-xt907.img

This doesn't work with new KK bootloader. You must flash the Dhacker's updated recovery you have tried. Try it again, it should work.
I don't know what exactly the mfastboot_v2 is, if it doesn't work, try normal fastboot

So step by step:
1) download this file to your PC: https://app.box.com/s/oyz8q1wc3ubkgspmiizt
2) extract it somewhere. For example in C:\Android
3) download recovery from this thread (first post): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747535
4) move the recovery to C:\Android and rename to something short, for example cwm.img
5) open terminal on your PC (ctrl+alt+delete> task manager> new task> type "cmd")
6) type
cd C:\Android
Click to collapse
7) now flash the recovery. Type
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img

Hi friends, I've found a way to root 10.4.B.0.577 android 4.3. Please see the instructions below:
Prerequisite:
1. Download SuperSU flashable at: http://download.chainfire.eu/351/
2. Download extract the boot.img from CM10.2 (attached as well)
3. Download the install fastboot
Steps:
1. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577
2. Put the Tablet Z in fastboot mode (press and hold Vol+ when inserting USB cable)
3. Open a console where the fastboot.exe is located, type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
4. Keep pressing Vol+ for a few times it boots up
5. Install SuperSU as normal
6. Power off the device
7. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577 again BUT EXCLUDE the SYSTEM
8. Boot up and you will have the SuperSU installed
My device is unlocked, I'm not sure if this works for locked bootloader as well. Try at your own risk! This method should work for both WIFI and LTE models.
[Files uploaded again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 unzip]
This method works fine but only with unlocked bootloader as if you are locked you cant flash boot.img from fastboot

Sorry for asking again, I'm new and I'm struggling with this. I tried to follow your steps (my tablet is a SGP312). I followed the steps, but I'm not sure if the ZIP file with SuperSU has to be downloaded to the tablet or what, as in step 5 you say "install SuperSU as normal". Does that mean through play store ? Directly from the file ? If it´s from the file, how ?
When I tried this in my tablet, after flashing boot.img and rebooting, I got a loader screen where I selected add super used, rebooted, and then... the tablet didn´t start again. It gets stuck in the initial booting screen with the color lights passing.
Also, I noticed that after the fastboot reboot, the message that I got in the loader mentioned SGP311, not 312. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think through the fastboot reboot, pressing the vol up. When I tried it before I entered in some kind of boot menu, with one option been "install from zip" or something like that but I didn´t try it.
I tried entering in it again and clicked on factory reset hoping that would do a cfresh install, but I still have the same issue: when powering up the tablet it keeps displaying the intro (the color lines) endlessly

Thanks for your help. Actually I managed to do it pretty much as you said) except the advanced -> power off, which I didn´t know: I assumed that was the way to access the boot menu, and to install Super SU, so I copied the ZIP into my external SDCard, did all the steps, and my tablet came back to life... with SuperSU installed
Lucky me I did a full backup following another guide, because in my desperation to bring my tablet back to life I did a full wipe out / factory reset (which btw didn´t solve anything).
Thanks for your replies and apologies if my questions seemed dumb... It's been many years since I "almost" break a device and lost all the data

Sorry just realized that XDA did not allow .001 and .002. Please download them again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 to unzip. Alternatively you can download CM10.2 and extract the boot.img from the zip.

Hello,
At this guide u flash boot.img from CM10.2 ROM (Step 3). At the end you have to reflash the new firmware so the boot, kernel etc change, because if u stay with CM10.2 u will get bootloops!!

If you unlock bootloader you can't use music info download and Bravia engine also. Although, I unlocked my bootloader and I followed your guide rooting successfully my Xperia Tablet Z SGP311 with .577 firmware. I used the latest flashtool to unlock the bootloader!!
When I finished all the process of rooting the music info didn't work so I tried to relock the bootloader with flashtool!! I did and guess what!! I have root with locked bootloader, stock firmware and working music info download!!!
You can make a guide that everyone with his own ftf can root his device just unlocking and locking the bootloader!!
The process must be done strictly with flashtool cause it keeps the keys for the relock!!!

Question: if you unlock the bootloader with Sony tools do you loose the music download info and the Bravia engine ????????
Hi everyone
First of all I'm in no way a DEV, all files and tools in this post is made by various DEV and a big thanks goes to all of them for there great work.
All I've done is combining them to get the desired end result. I take no responsibility for any damage that might happend by following this guide.
Prerequisite:
1. SGP321 with stock 10.5.A.0.230 Locked Bootloader(unlocking instruction here) or do it from Flashtool To relock Bootloader once done, repeat this step.
1. Download SuperSU flashable
2. Download and extract the boot.img from CM11
3. Installed fastboot (part of the Android SDK)
Steps:
1. Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip to SD card on the tablet.
2. Put the Tablet Z in fastboot mode (press and hold Vol+ when inserting USB cable)
3. Copy the boot.img to the same folder as the fastboot.exe
4. Open a console(Command prompt) where the fastboot.exe is located
Type.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
5. Keep pressing Vol+ for a few times it boots up
6. Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip from recovery
7. Power off the device
8. Put Tablet in Flash mode by holding volume down key while plugging in the usb cable.
9. Flash SGP321_10.5.A.0.230 R1D_Custom GENERIC.ftf via Flashtool
10. Boot up and you will have the SuperSU installed
Optional install recovery
Install Busybox
Connect Tablet to pc while powered on download the Recovery
Extract the content and run the install.bat .
Thanks for sharing!!
Nice! I can confirm that this works well even with SGP351. The best thing about this method is that it doesn't wipe anything, if you don't want to. Awesome find, OP!

So in step 1 above, does the bootloader need to be unlocked? Or does this method work with locked bootloader? I'm sorry, the wording is a little awkward and I would like to know if I need to back up my TA keys prior to attempting this method.
Thanks

You can root it much easier with Easy Root Tool without messing with bootloader.
Hi...
This is the tutorial to root any Moto G
To root any Moto G, three basic steps need to be followed... you can either do them manually or use a tool do them for you. It is advised to follow them manually so that if there's some bug in the tool you don't get into any trouble.
CAUTION - You will lose all data and files so better back them up.
For Google Play edition devices, the process is same and only the recovery.img file is different. For GPe CWM Advanced Edition recovery go here https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/ and select falcon_gpe and download the latest one.
For AT&T and Verizon models don't do anything written above. Just download the Towelroot app. Its a one click root app and doesn't require a PC. Itis trustworthy but is not guaranteed to work but you must give it a try since it won't do any harm and claims of never bricking a phone. Please reply with the result and your android and kernel version. It will probably not work on phones build after June 3 but you can give it a try. You can download it from the website https://towelroot.com
The three steps are :-
1) UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER
2) FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY
3) INSTALLING SuperSu.zip FILE THROUGH RECOVERY. (SuperSu is acknowledge as the best app to give superuser and root rights)
UNLOCKING THE BOOT LOADER - The instructions to unlock the boot loader are given in the official Motorola website here https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a . Don't be scared by their warnings.
UPDATE - There currently seems to be an issue with unlocking the bootloader on devices running 4.4.4 though it works for 4.4.2. The issue is with Motorola and is that, the unlock code given by the company is showing an error. They are fixing it and it may take some time though you can give it a try as it won't do any harm. Or you can downgrade the boot loader to 4.4.2 and then unlock it.
As confirmed by the Motorola agent, the problem of unlocking bootloader on 4.4.4 has been fixed
FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY :-
To flash a custom recovery, you need these things
1) PC and a USB data cable
2) Android SDK ( developer.android.com/sdk/index.html ) For flashing recovery only SDK is needed but it's your wish if you want to download the ADT bundle. After downloading and unzipping the sdk , open the SDK manager and download only the platform tools for this.. rest is your wish..... and separately download ADB tools and fastboot and extract them minimal-adb-and-fastboot.software.informer.com/1.1/
3) Recovery.img file - You can either use CWM foum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563599 or CWM advanced editionforum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639583 or TWRP forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2561757. EDIT - If your phone had come pre installed with 4.4.4 then use only CWM Advanced Edition. CWM Advanced Edition doesn't make backup on XT1033
4) Motorola drivers https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/97326/p/30,6720,9050
5) Enable USB Debugging mode in your phone by going to Settings-About Phone and then tap the build number until you get the toast 'You are a developer'. Now go to Settings again and you will see a new Developer Options there. Go there and enable USB debugging.
6) Have at least 25% of charge on your phone.
After getting all these things:-
1) Download the recovery.img file to your PC and copy paste it to android SDK/platform tools folder.
2) Boot your phone to fastboot mode by first switching it off and holding the volume down and power button for 3 seconds.
3) When in fastboot mode, connect your phone to pc, go to the platform tools folder, there pres shifft and right mouse click simultaneously and select 'open command prompt window here'.
4) In the command window enter
Code:
fastboot devices
If it shows a number and fastboot then we are good..
5) Then enter
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
( where in recovery.img the recovery is the name of your recovery file. Example if the name of recovery file is ABC then enter fastboot flash recovery ABC.img)
5) Press enter and if the command prompt window displays the message okay then the recovery is successfully flashed.
6) Now just boot your phone to recovery mode through fastboot mode by following the on screen instructions and in recovery mode select Reboot System Now to reboot your phone normally.
(see attached images below for screenshots)
INSTALLING SuperSu
To install SuperSu :-
1) Download SuperSu zip file download.chainfire.eu/452/SuperSU/ and transfer it to your phone
2) Reboot to recovery via fastboot.
3) Select install zip and select choose from SD card.
4) Locate the file and install it.
5) Now reboot your phone.
YUP.. YOU ROOTED YOUR PHONE!
Download any root checker app from the Play Store to check whether your phone is rooted or not.

I have a huawei p6 but I'm absolutely not satisfied with that and I bought a moto g for my girlfriend and that is awesome.
The only thing why I haven't bought the g for myself as well is the rooting. That time I didn't find an easy way to root it.
If it is a working method than I will buy the 4g verson with sd card support

I looked into it just now... Currently there's an issue with Motorola with unlocking the bootloader when on 4.4.4...As people say, the unlock code given my Motorola is showing an error... You can still try it.. maybe it's even fixed by now.. Even if it fails there wouldn't be any harm.. Though the unlocking works fine with 4.4.2... You can revert back to 4.4.2, unlock the bootloader and then update to 4.4.4... The thing will be same as you will lose all data and files when unlocking the bootloader and so in reverting to 4.4.2.....(Remember, only unlocking doesn't mean you won't recieve updates, you won't receive updates only if you flash a custom recovery.)
EDIT - I added it to the OP. Thanks for bringing it to attention.

You have Verizon I see. The only you will probably face is unlocking the bootloader.. Oh, wait first let me laugh... lol...OK....At one point of time you couldn't unlock the bootloaders for AT&T and Verizon and then we were blessed by the 'one click root' app by the famous hacker geohot called TowelRoot. This app claims to root all the AT&T and Verizon devices with just a click. You don't even need a PC. Just download the app and in the app chick 'make it rain'. Though this is not guaranteed to work but must give a try as it won't do any harm but there's a chance of bricking the phone but you can easily recover from a soft brick by flashing the stock firmware.
Towelroot - https://towelroot.com/
P.S. - Please reply if you tried this and if it didn't work reply with your android version and kernel version. Well reply with your android version and kernel version anyway.

Sorry I didn't know that. Downgrading the bootloader is a very risky process.
What did you exactly do?

Please tell which android version your phone came preinstalled with and what recovery you used.
Also when you reboot to recovery, after the blank screen do you see the android logo lying down with a red triangle?

Yeah they say, if you on 4.4.4 and want to unlock your bootloader you have to flash the motoboot_testdrive.img file wich downgrades the bootloader to i think it was called 40.15 or so after that you have to unlock your bootloader and then flash the motoboot 4.4.4 stock image so that you have the actual one but for me it failed while i try to flash this testdrive image

So basically you want to downgrade the bootloader and then unlock it?
Well if you are on KitKat you can downgrade the bootloader by flashing 4.3 , then unlocking the bootloader and then updating to KitKat

Hi Guys,
I had some problems with my beloved zenfone 2. Now i can´t enter in bootloader and recovery, but phone boots normaly.
The thing is it seems the partitions are cracked. My last hope was flashing a new recovery and bootloader with the images i got from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-to-apply-ota-bootloop-rooted-zf2-t3127835 using some programs to flash direct from phone (Tried with "recovery flasher" and "rom installer") but on "rom installer" app shows #ERROR: cannot locate recovery partition:
The history was : I rooted my phone using the zenfone toolkit, then started a wipe cache partition, which didn´t work and i forced off. After that i can´t made any adb connection - i can go to bootloader but doesn´t find my device and can´t write anything - , but i made TWRP recovery work using the "tethered recovery" as show in http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/development/alpha-tethered-twrp-asus-zenfone-2-t3123532 and flash the original stock rom. ADB/fastboot still don´t work. After that i entered in TWRP again using the same method and inserted Superuser.zip there, rooting my device. After root i lost Bootloader, but still can go to recovery (using TWRP and CVM programs which have the option "reboot to recovery"), which was still useless since it recognize my phone but adb sideload still don´t work. I even tried the MOFD_update thing - copying the entire rom to sd card and renaming to MOFD update but it shows it can´t update. Then i tried to flash TWRP using the TWRP app and the only thing i did it was lost my recovey too.
Now when i try to go to bootloader only shows the UsB logo (the trident), The same happen if i try to go to recovery by apps.
I think i´ll have to fix partitions mannually, using only phone, but i have no ideia how. Can anyone know what can i do?
Thanks in advance
You broke your recovery. Cleaning cache from stock recovery take a LONG time on the ZF2. You have to be patient.
You're still good if you can get into fastboot though. Just execute
Code:
fastboot format cache
then boot back into recovery. When you're in fastboot, you need to run
Code:
fastboot devices
not adb. Recovery = ADB, bootloader = fastboot
Scratch all that. Reread your post. You've done some very inadvisable things. You should have just formatted from the bootloader instead of bothering to re-root. I have no idea what you've done now.
Trident logo means brick phone...be careful nextime

It might be possible to do something from a terminal window on your phone, but you would need to take advice from someone who knows what they are doing as I'm only theorizing rather than speaking from any position of knowledge.

No. The problems started on my second boot after rooting, i had no chance to unlock bootloader too. I think if i had i can flash a custom recovery using TWRP or CVM apps and flash everything else again, but no, i can´t do that either.
As said above use the terminal app to flash stock recovery by dd command
Make sure u give su before issuing dd
Copy stock recovery to sdcard
Open terminal give these commands one by one

dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery

Thank you Sooo much.
Now i have my recovery back, is there a way i can get bootloader back again using commands like that ? (and one bootloader i can use adb\fastboot ?)
I assume now i can use adb/sideload or MOFUPDATE.zip way (inserting an flashable rom with this name in my memory card so the system will flash like an update when i enter in recovery), but i don´t know what exactly i need to do (and what archives i have to use) to have a bootloader again, considering all ways to unbrick zenfone 2 needs fastboot. If i do that with stock Asus rom i can download from asus site will i have bootloader (and acess to fastboot) again? I´m afraid to do that and lose my root acess and still have no fastboot option. With root at least i can use terminal. I´m really afraid of flashing something that really hardbrick my phone since i have no fastboot, only root.
Can i unlock bootloader using terminal ? Maybe it´s safe if i unlock bootloader and then wipe TWRP using only TWRP app. After that i can flash other rooms and always have TWRP to fix if something goes wrong.
Sorry if i´m bothering. And thank you soo much for your help

Thank you again. Sorry about my insecurities, but i´m still worry. I rooted my phone at first time using the rootkit, one step there says i have to click "checkbeforeaction.bat" which will say i can go with root if i see 1234567ABCDEF as my phone. After that i can´t use adb anymore.
I don´t know why my phone changed to 1234567ABCDEF, i´m not sure if this is the reason i can´t use ADB. After recover my recovery yesterday (thanks for you) i checked "adb devices" on sideload and still shows 1234567ABCDEF. Still afraid to flash a stock rom and the only thing will change is i lost my root.
Maybe it´s a silly questions, but To use sideload i need a .img or a .zip file ? the stock room will flash stock recovery and stock bootloader again? Will i see 1234567ABCDEF again? Can i sideload a pre-rooted room ?Can i sideload just droidboot.img, boot.img and recovery.img? will it be placed on correct place on my phone? I´m really afraid of doing something wrong again.

**** This is a modified post with detailed explanation and different files. The original post was made by @samcjtasi at here. *****
If you installed Android 6 from locked Lollipop Bootloader or forgot to unlock the bootloader before the installation and all you need is to root the device, this is a guide for you.
I did unlocked my Bootloader when I was on 168 with Asus unlock app. I flashed 194 raw file via Asus Flash tool which locked my bootloader. I installed MM via adb sideload and I had MM with Locked bootloader. I used this method to root my phone.
I am sure you'd already known that rooting the phone (acquiring the administrative rights for your own phone) will void the phone warranty.
With this method,
1. You do not need to downgrade your MM bootloader to Lollipop, unlock it, install twrp and root the phone, and then upgrade back to MM.
2. You do not need to install the TWRP. You will be running the TWRP from the tethered mode so your stock recovery will be intact.
3. SuperSu initial installation will modify some files in your boot partition in order to re-direct the system request to the SuperSu, as such In case you want to receive an OTA file later, do
**REMEMBER to FLASH BACK TO STOCK Android 6.0 BOOT.IMG** to unroot before upgrading to official Android 6.0.
4. Make sure your phone has battery 80% or more.
Requirements:
1. USB drivers for Asus have to be installed in the computer and your computer should recognize and can do the file transfers between the computer and your phone. You can get the drivers here. You will need to allow the file transfer from your phone when prompt.
2. Android debug bridge (ADB) has to be installed in your computer. I used ADB version 1.0.32. Some knowledge in using DOS and ADB is a plus.
3. Your phone should have the developer option enable and usb debugging should be checked in the developer option tab.
4. You need to know how to use the TWRP. There are a couple videos on youtube explaining about using TWRP.
The Files you need for the root.
1. TWRP - you can download the latest twrp file from here. The latest is ver 3.0.20. You could use older 2.8 versions if you want it.
2. SuperSu installer - I did try with latest SuperSu without success as such use the SuperSu patched by @shakalaca . Get the BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328-patch-by-shakalaca-for-zenfone2-6.0.zip file here.
Steps:
1. Copy the downloaded TWRP to the directory that you install the ADB. (If you do not want to type long file name in adb, rename it to twrp.img. )
2. Connect your phone to the computer and copy the SuperSu installer to the phone internal memory or the external SD card.
3. Open the command prompt windows with administrative rights. (Without admin right ADB will not work properly).
4. Go to the ADB directory using the cd command. (e.g. cd\, cd adb, etc...)
5. Start the ADB environment by typing "adb start-server" . (without the quotation marks of course). You should see ****the demon started successfully*** message.
6. If you want to check your phone connection in adb, you can type "adb devices" to see your phone is recognized in ADB environment. You should see your phone serial no. and status .
7. Boot the phone to bootloader by typing "adb reboot-bootloader". The phone should vibrate and go into the fastboot mode. Wait till your phone get in the fastboot mode before you proceed.
8. Give the command to boot the phone to the twrp by typing "fastboot boot twrp.img". (If you did not change the name of the image file you need to type or copy and paste the whole file name).
You will see the message saying like-
"downloading 'boot.img' .....
OKAY [0.668s]
booting.....
OKAY [0.450s]
finished. total time: 1.120s "
The phone will vibrate twice and the Asus Logo with black splash screen will appear. The phone is start booting with TWRP image.
9. Unplug the phone from the computer. (If within 30 sec your phone should not start booting to TWRP. you can press and release the power button to go to the normal boot mode or press and release the volume-up key to go to the recovery mode. The TWRP should start by then.)
10. In TWRP install the SuperSu file by tapping install option. (I am sure you remember where you put the SuperSU installer zip file)
11. When the SuperSu installation is completed you will see the message saying like " You will see the your phone has failed verification message and reboot a couple times". Please remember that.
12. Clear the Dalvik cache and then reboot the phone. (You can reboot the phone without clearing the dalvik cache if you want).
Your phone will reboot and you will see the triangle saying like "your phone has failed verification" message and then automatically reboot the phone, showing up the message again. It would happen two to three times and you phone will be booted to the system. (You will not see that error message anymore in the upcoming boots).
Now your phone is rooted. You can check it by installing and running the app like root-chekcer.
Good luck.

The guide was written from the experience working with 551ML but it should work for the 550ML I think.
I am also using the Win10 Prof and my adb has a date of 3/30/2015.
I downloaded the latest twrp from the teamwin site. I did not use the twrp mentioned in this forum because they did not work for me. (The purpose of this guide is to use TWRP as temporary and not to install on the phone as such we do not need the signed TWRP ).
In the original thread some mentioned about going to the stock recovery (dead droid with red triangle) as such I put the instruction to press the power button or press the volumn-up button to go to the recovery mode. Actually, they are not required. If everything works, your phone should start booting with the twrp image.

If you are using latest twrp directly downloaded from the teamwin site and if you are following the steps that I mentioned you should be OK. The only thing different could be the ADB version. Try different adb version or try this on the different computer.
Thanks. I got systemless root by this method.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm using this until I get twrp to boot.
I tried adb 1.0.36 that should be the latest but it didn't work. I'll try on win7 or something.

Hi,
Does it reset the phone (apps, documents, accounts,...) ?

This will probably not work. In other for it to work and be able to boot into twrp, I had to unlock the bootloader first, because the "fastboot boot twrp.zip" command wouldn't work unless I did so
