Anyone happen to know if you can throw the international firmware on the Australian version of the S5?
Getting tired of the restrictions, even after root.
Yes. But nfc wont work. You will need to apply a fix. On AllianceROM the fix is available in OTA

the best thing is to download the g900i saudi arabia firmware, it has the right modems for australia and its a newer build than the taiwan rom, everything works without restriction, customise dock icons, mute camera shutter sound, camera on lock screen, auto rotate in gallery..

Is that the latest one? And yeah mine has all those features too haha. Just forgot to mention
EDIT: removed picture because it had some personal info in it. I'm retarded. But the build was ANE3 and kernel was built on May 17th

ooh you have a newer build... its not on sammobile yet.. i found another download for it, going to test it now.
I believe the Taiwanese firmware is the newest release (as it has had two in-phone software updates since it's original release). With these 'patches', it is newer than the Saudi Arabia firmware. I tried many times to check if there was an in-phone software update under the Saudi Arabia firmware, but nothing has shown up.
I have attached screenshots.
I have gone back to the Taiwanese Firmware for now (my modems are the Australian modem on the Taiwanese firmware)

EDIT: Just saw your other post has been updated with a screenshot. That is the modem that I have installed on my S5 before flashing the Australian modem.
I flashed the Australian modem files on the Taiwanese firmware as I was not able to use Download Booster.
Download Booster was active, but no data transfer was occurring. Updating to the Australian modem files allowed data transfer (I like this feature as I am on satellite which can be very poor at times).
I use the XtreStoLite rom on my G900I which runs beautifully, get near 3 days of battery with lots of daily use.

I purchased a SM-N9005 from Amazon, for £400, on arrival it appears to be from Philipines, no region lock?, do i keep it and use it? could there be any problems? or should I return and get a UK varient? can I/should I re-flash with generic UK firmware? (I havent put the battery in it yet!)
it looks lovely, so excited... moving from a note 1

I do this as it makes the screens transition faster, you can even turn off the animation scale if you wish. but i thought, since this is a powerful phone i would leave it on for a while

well - i moved the value on mine from 1.0 to 0.5 on all 3 transition options and it does transition faster, basically the higher the value the longer the transition takes..... try it! you cant damage anything, and you can always change it back.

I afraid that you cant get the OTA update after flashing a firmware from another region.
I think you have 2 choices:
1- root your phone and remove the bloatwares that annoying you.
2- flash appropriate firmware from another region. Ask other people that using HK phone to make sure which firmware you can safely flash.
As I don't want to root I decided to just use as is and have tried to install the updates available for hk, every time progress gets to 30 percent it fails. I've tried downloading the OTA over wifi, 3g, and installed kies. All Fall. Does this mean there is something wrong with the phone?

There is new firmware on sam mobile. G900MUBU1ANE2_G900MUUB1ANE4_ALE
That's the newest unbranded. I tested by flashing this last night, it appears to be identical to the shipping firmware on my factory unlocked G900M. There is no non-Samsung bloat and language selection seems identical..
LOL I was in between flashes anyway. Wanted to see if there was another OTA to 4.4.3 as some carriers have released it, but there is not yet.
It's the first version of the unbranded firmware I've been able to find actually..all the others seem to be branded to a carrier of some form.
Thanks for that, I will download that ROM
Anyone in the UK got there OTA or Kies Lollipop update yet?
If you have flashed the German DBT & the CSC has changed will it change back to the UK CSC if flashed later with a UK Firmware?

No update for me yet, however I think that Samsung will provide the network provider with the build then the network provider will add there bloatware and so on. I'm not 100% sure on this though.
Based on the CSC changing to a German CSC when I flashed the German DBT I'd have a guess and say flashing a UK ROM via Odin it would again change the CSC. Just a guess..
I have installed the German DBT and so far so good..

Hi mark, just wondering but I have a n910f UK version and I flashed the German lollipop build through Odin yesterday, although after giving it some time to boot it upgraded all of the pre-installed apps, the phone booted but all that showed up was a black screen and an empty notification bar, and kept rebooting over and over. anyone know what the problem could be?

Hi xjw1,
Not really knowledgeable enough to help much here. You don't say what you flashed the rom over. I flashed over bobcat rom and had already updated the bootloader too. I also did a full wipe in recovery before using odin. If you ask here you should get a response from an expert. Good luck. http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/910f-official-lolipop-germany-dbt-t3029508

Yup you use the German update you get the German CSC, flash to a UK one you'll get a UK CSC. But there is almost no difference. You'd be better off sticking to this German one. Whenever an update is pushed you will get it first. If you flash a UK ROM you'll be back in the same situation you're in now waiting for an upgrade. Sometimes the UK providers are weeks/months behind the German updates.
If you want any new OTA updates as soon as Europe gets them stick with this ROM. That is unless you want the UK bloatware. I'm quite surprised the only German stuff is deletable. I bet the EE/Vodafone stuff won't be.
Edit: Actually I take that back, I just checked my CSC and my phone is showing as Polish OXA strangely enough. Well I'm pretty sure I'll still get the OTAs first. What I said should still count for German/Polish updates as they get them first so ..........(fingers crossed).
Flashed German update still retained my UK CSC
Like Mcshave said am better off with German update than EE bloatwares.

Reflash everything with a full (not modified) stock firmware. That's because you flashed file that not corresponding the stock firmware you installed, so the OTA update will break.

I flashed a stock frimware! First I wiped everything from my phone except storage and flashed the stock firmware from sammobile. It is completely stock right now...
In order for OTA updates to function, the parts of the firmware must match each other, and the firmware must have the same CSC as originally installed on the device. For example, my S4 originally was from O2 (CSC O2U), but when I got it off Swappa it had the CSC of SIM installed. I would need to install the O2-branded firmware back on to the device in order for OTA updates to function.
If you do not know what the original CSC was, either because the phone was a "hand-me-down" or was purchased used, then OTA updates will not function and you will need to use Odin to update.

To identify what's the latest firmware for your region, use your hometown's CSC code (region code) and look for a new version available.
Like I9500UBUHOI1 for region ARO, I9500XXUHOH7 for region SER, and many more. If you're unsure, check your CSC code by entering Recovery mode or use an app like Phone Info.
@calinoii: Many S4 boxes will have the CSC on them as part of the Samsung merchandising code, though mine did not. If the box does not have it, or you don't have the box, the only way to get the correct CSC is by parsing the IMEI and finding out which carrier purchased that device. imeidata.net used to have that option available, and it was how I found out that my device was originally from O2. They took it out, and I'm not aware of any replacements. Try contacting your carrier, as they may be able to provide that information.

I guess I wasn't clear. When I say "CSC of the phone", I'm referring to the three digit carrier code some of the devices have. For example, my phone I discovered had the model number of GT-I9505ZKAO2U. The carrier code of my phone is the last three digits of the model number. It therefore is O2U, and on sammobile.com I would narrow down my search for ROMs using that code to get the correct ROM for the device.
The firmware has its own CSC code, but that cannot be used to determine the phone's CSC. You either need the model number of the phone as printed on the box, or you need to find someone who can research the IMEI and tell you what carrier the phone was originally sold to.

No, that's probably modem or baseband version. Like Strephon said before, it refers on latest 3 digits on your phone box. Like my Galaxy S4 is GT-I9500ZWAXSE, so this phone is for Indonesian markets. Third party app might refer it into installed CSC codes like I install Latin American firmware into my phone and it's changed into GT-I9500ZWATTT. It mostly refers to region like region CHN for China, ARO for Argentina, etc.
CSC that always mentioned on the firmware details is actually multi-CSC. Like on SEA I9500XXUHOH7, it's multi-CSC version is I9500OLBHOH1 and Latin American I9500UBUHOI1 is I9500UUBHOE2. Multi-CSC applies one of CSC codes that matches your phone (like I download ARO firmware but after installing and wipe cache, CSC code installed is TTT instead of ARO).

Hi,
I tried to flash Germany firmware for my S7 Edge however after finding out that the gear VR require local region firmware in order to function, i couldnt find the original firmware anywhere (ie sammobile).
The closest that I have found is the following, however it is not the original firmware as well. I did not record my phone CSC and it is now missing in the phone information. Could anyone share the firmware?
The country for the phone should be Singapore (Singtel). Million thanks ahead!

I tried flashing the XSP firmware in the link on my first post, however it doesnt show CSC code/VoLTE either, hence I'm suspecting there may have multiple variant of Singapore firmware.
In order to change Active CSC your phone need to be wipe which odin does this automatically when flashing CSC file.(not HOME_CSC file)
Also XSP is part of OLB multi-csc which contain CSC for Malaysia/Philippines/Singapore/Thailand/Vietnam. So when you flash this CSC-file it will randomize the CSC. For example, you flash OLB-CSC expecting XSP-CSC but you might get THL-CSC instead.
is there a way to flash directly to XSP -CSC (singapore)? figured more people would be interested in this since Samsung Pay is expected to be released within this quarter

I appreciate any advice on this as well, my gear vr is giving me "network error" and I cant find any singapore(singtel) firmware around
Apparently there is no way you can flash the firmware and get Singapore CSC. It will always go to THL which is default CSC in OLB.
Just bumping this thread up if anyone's figured a way to get the Singapore CSC back. Unfortunately I decided to try out the Nougat beta and now I'm stuck with the Thai version of Samsung Pay.
Found this thread. I just tried android N and went back to marshmallow and having TH CSC. Hope someone can figure out and share
Go to Samsung at Plaza Singapura and have it restored. They do that in lesa than 2hrs.
