Try Going in settings/ security/ device administrators it might be part of the list with the box checked. If it is un-check it and try to uninstall again.

So I opened up youtube on my Xoom to find it loading the same App that my Droid uses. I was puzzled for a couple minutes but I went to my apps and uninstalled updates for my youtube app. Then when I went to opened up youtube again the problem was fixed and the beautiful honeycomb version of the youtube app was loading.
For a better look at this issue and the solution I posted a video describing this issue and the solution.

this happened to me too I just uninstalled youtube from the market and now its back to honeycomb version
This happened to me and resolved it the same way you did, but now the problem is that Youtube is showing under the not installed section on the marketplace.
mine was showing up as not installed in market, so i stupidly installed it. I get the phone version now. I just tried uninstalling it and there's no option to. what do i do now?
Uninstall from the Market itself

Forgive me if you already tried this. But go to marketplace, then 'My Apps' and find the youtube app. In the middle panel on the bottom should be a button to click that says 'uninstall updates' , this is also reflected in the above video in the root post of the thread.
If you already tried this, go to the advanced setting panel. go to applications and all apps. When there look for youtube app and try to force close it. If it was running now try to repeat the above step.
Hope this helps

thanks, but it didn't work. I first went to Settings to force close it, but it wasn't running. I cleared cache anyway.
then in market, there is no option to uninstall updates or even uninstall the program.
not sure what's going on.

Enable Youtube and Google Books on your Wifi only Xoom
Do Not Return Your Xoom
If you have had a problem with the missing YouTube and/or Google Books application, here is the fix that works:
1. Connect to WiFi network.
2. Go into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
3. Go to the "All" tab and then scroll down and select "Google Partner Setup."
Clear Data.
Reboot your Xoom. (That is, turn it off and on.)
If this doesn't work, perform a factory reset (Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset) and try the sequence above again.
Good Luck
Last Night I went into system/applications menu and told it to disable music. The reason being I kept getting error from market not allowing me to update to google play music. It said uninstall the app first then hit market. Well there are no uninstall options there and well I disabled it and cant find it to enable the old one... how do I do that?
I am really enjoying this Nexus 7 device, which I got yesterday!
I am learning how to use this and have a very basic question.
After I install an app, I might want to free up space and uninstall. However,
I still want to be able reinstall again in the future. What are the steps here?
I only did figured out how to delete the app.
all or most of your apps are store in your google cloud i.e. in google play store app. >my apps> (swipe right)> All apps

Or navigate to "manage apps" in settings.then select the app there.
To uninstall, you can also open up the app drawer, drag the app out, and uninstall will show up at the top as you are holding on to. the app.

The app that I deleted in Nexus 7 is still there on my device ready to be installed again. (in google play store) I assume that this is the google cloud.
If I never want this app again, then how do I get it off my list of apps on google play store?

I uninstalled a free app (eg. Angry Birds Rio) through the manage apps. If I want to install it again, I need to go through Google Play?
Reinstalling takes it from "my" cloud on to the device?
If it was a paid app, I would reinstall from google play too? It would not ask me to pay again since I paid for it once?

You only pay for apps once correct, unless you uninstalled it during the refund period.
But yes, in the Play Store under "All Apps" is a list of all apps you have ever downloaded and purchased so you can download again. Can't take them out that list I don't think. Only apps you have installed show in the "My Apps" list.

mtp wont see backups
hey guys i noticed something:
when i make a backup in TB, they dont show up when i use mtp to view sd contents! They show up in astro file browser. any ideas? windows xp sp3
I remember once running across a way to see which apps are backed up on my google account (and which ones would be restored on a new device setup) and being able to manage that.
But I can't find that anywhere anymore.
When I flash a new rom, Google is downloading some apps that I no longer use and would like a way to manage that list.
Does anyone know it?

On the Play Store, press menu and go to My apps -> All. You can press and hold an app to enter a selection mode so you don't have to press each 'X' individually. I wish there was a launcher that would automatically remove these entries when you uninstall an app. I know you can get Titanium Backup to do it, but that's a pain going into an app to uninstall another app.

Tried today to update a bunch of apps that aren't available in the play store, but can't install them. The install/update menu shows however the Install button seems disabled, I can only but cancel for every app.
It must be something wroing with my phone, installing from adb works.

Are you using a screen filter app like twilight/screen filter etc.? Because of security measures it wont let you install anything while an app interferes with the display. Try turning it off and it should work.

Yes, it was that. I had enabled the app Bluelight Filter for Eye Care for pleasure. After disabling it temporarily from notification bar I could install any app again!! :fingers-crossed: (I already had enabled unknown sources, in case someone asks). I can't be so happy, was about to hard reset the phone.
