Hello everyone,
Before I start up, I have searched across that forum about how to remove splash screen in Xperia devices and I didn't find one, and I've seen many Xperia users got annoyed with their carriers splash screen/animation/boot up...etc
well, if you still want to keep your current bootanimation, you don't have to delete it all.
follow the screenshot instructions below and you will get rid of that crappy splash screen, it doesn't matter what carrier you are in!
It should be stored in the same location for all, or most of Carrier Branded Xperia Smartphones.
-In order to delete the splash screen you have to copy or move the bootanimation.zip from root directory, to anywhere else in your Sd-card, then return it back to system/media with the right permission!
Requirment: ROOT!

Try the attachment. I have not tried. Only created a universal flashable zip of the png files. Should flash on all roms. Not sure if it works on all roms.

that may be an issue with the .9.pngs ill try to talk to the guy who made that flash zip. also if you have a backup phone.apk/ framework-res.apk having them would be a great help ( stock is the best to fix issues with)
The green logo bootanimation was getting to me...so I whipped up a quick bootani.

Stock oppo uses a different file structure. I could add it in both places...then it would just be on your phone twice, but would work either way.

Hi NunHugger, thanks for sharing this white bootanimation.
I've been trying to get a custom bootani for my oppo (Stock Oppo ROM), even if just a single .png image, but can't make it work, I get either a black screen or a tiny "android" word.
Could you please tell me how you made your bootani work, it would be very much appreciated!
Cheers!
Great,I like it.

Steps you can try to fix the problem:
Add an extra empty line at the end of "desc.txt"
Archive the files WITHOUT compression
Compressed it with store compression.

Is there any app or root tweak that will let me change the background for S-View Cover?
I'm sure there are images I can swap out in a root folder, but I have no idea which one. . . .
+1 for this feature.
Should be under settings... changes the color not background though.

Yeah, I saw that. But I'm looking specifically for a tweak or image location that will allow me to put anything I want in it. Like a family photo, custom photo, etc.
I had the G2 for a few days and was able to do that with built in settings, but this one is different.

ditto.
hello !
yes you can !
Extract the framework-res.apk of your custom rom, open with winrar v5, change or replace with your mainbg_pattern_mainarea.png on directory : res/drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi .
On note 3, copy on your sdcard, and with root explorer replace this on system/Framework (reboot is automatic when you change the .apk) enjoy!
Background
Think I'm on to something!
I think I might have found a way. I deodexed a couple of files and decompiled them. Found some code that sets the Alpha to 10% on the background image of the s_view Cover. Going to try setting alpha to transparent. Once I figure out how re odex them I'll try it out and post my results. Probably gonna have a snow day tomorrow so I'll be working on it!

Hello i ask you something how did you do this image clearly ?
Have fun.
Put bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ with rw-r-r permissions or flash OnePlus_One_Bootanimation_Flashable.zip in your custom recovery.

I also used @bitdomo's boot logo tool. It aligns perfectly with the bootanimation.
OnePlus_One_BootLogoIMGDATA_Flashable.zip:
Edit: Added inverted, white background version.

It's possible, I haven't looked into it. People have had lag/stutter with the L developer preview bootanimation on some ROMs but not others. Probably the same thing if it lags with this one. There's a way to fix it but I have no idea lol.
I noticed some lags in bootanimation with some kernels...
Looks cool. How do I remove it if I want to later?

Bootloader image is removed by flashing the stock one from the thread I linked in OP, bootanimation is removed by reflashing ROM or replacing the bootanimation.zip
ふかつどう
Thanks. Flashed both for cyanogenmod using MultiROM, looks awesome and for some dumb reason I thought the boot logo would only be there for cyanogenmod. Guess how I felt when I booted up into PA.
