I saw in development section has many ROM based on AOSP, AKOP, CM, Paranoid. How can I know if there are based on 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 sources?
They're all based on JB sources. Be patient, soon there should be an AOSP kernel based on 4.4.2 stock...

Mahdi and Paranoid Android 4.3+ are the only two AOSP ROMs to use the full Android 4.4.x sources for everything (kernel, drivers, sensors, libs, audio, etc).
All other AOSP ROMs, including CM, use Android 4.4.x sources + 4.2.x kernel, drivers, sensors, libs, audio, etc.

So I want to install a custom rom but I am confused as to which I should use. I've read different roms and I've seen that they have different rom "bases" like cm 10.1, aokp, aosp, and PA(does it have a different rom base?). Just a question, what is the differences among them? Please help so I can decide which to flash.
Hmmm, good question, well most of the ROMs here are build off of official ROM source and thats what it means by base and the difference between them is almost everything from ui to features and stuff like that and to know which ROMs you like try flashing the the official ROMs like AOKP, CM, AOSP, and PA and then once you find the base you like then flash the other ROMs that are customized versions built from that ROM base

All of these ROMs are built from AOSP; that's Android Open Source Project. It's where Google officially releases the source code. All custom ROMs on this type of device will be built on AOSP. If a ROM says it has CM or AOKP base, that means they built it off the source code for that ROM (which is initially built off AOSP) and added their own tweaks or whatever.

Hello
I am fed up of the TouchWiz look and feel.
I want to stay closest to AOSP in look and feel, apps, etc.
All Android 4.3 and 4.4 versions posted on XDA have some or the other bugs for I9500 (in both Android development and Android Original development)
When I checked CM downloads. there is one 10.2 stable build for I9505 (Officially supported) on their site.
All unofficial builds are ported on XDA, and I9500 is an unofficial device for CM.
For I9500, on XDA, we have both CM 10.2 nightlies and CM 11 nightlies. But none of them have any stable builds.
Also, no AOKP, Slim, etc.
Where can I get a pure AOSP look and feel kind of ROM. Even Android 4.2.2 will also do.

Hello everyone!
I'm currently on CM11 nightlies on my d800 and I'm a tad bit confused as to what is going on with the 4.4 kernels. What AOSP ROM's are currently using 4.4 and not the JB kernel?
Does that mean CM11 is falling behind because it's still using the JB kernel?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!

There is a list that usually has [4.x.x] in the Roms description: [INDEX][REPO][AIO] LG G2 - ROMs | Kernels | MODs | Recoveries [NEW-UPDATED][5.5.14]
By the way, [4.x.x] is the ANDROID ROM version (Jelly Bean, Kit Kat etc), not the KERNEL version.

I think the OP is confused.. Maybe he's trying to ask the same as i..
1- What are the AOSP ROMs that are actually using the 4.4 LG Sources?
2- We all know that PA is using the 4.4 LG Sources (at least, Houstonn has started to merge them).. So, what ROMs are using Houstonn's source code?
Anyone?

This is exactly what I'm asking! I didn't know how exactly to type it out.
I don't have a direct answer. There is the XDA Kernels, but there isn't much there.
I guess searching would be the best thing to do.
Why the worry about the kernels anyway?

Mahdi 2.5 release 1
Paranoid Android 4.3+ betas
Furnace kernel 2.2.x
Those are the only G2 ROMs/kernels that use the full 4.4.x source tree, drivers and binary blobs. You need to use the LG 4.4.x baseband with these ROMs.
All other ROMs and kernels for the G2 use the 4.4.x Android sources with the 4.2.x kernel sources, drivers, and binary blobs. You need to use either the LG 4.2.x baseband, or the 4.4.x baseband modified by dr87.
You cannot mix kernels between ROMs if they use different source trees for the kernels.
And is you use the wrong baseband for the ROM, you will lose sensors, GPS, and auto-rotate; or it will bootloop.

Only those two ROMs?
So far, yes, those are the only two.

It seems Chroma is no longer developed and the kernel is getting old without security updates. How do I know what actively developed kernel is compatible with that ROM? Thanks for any feedback.
Since Chroma rom is a AOSP based rom, you can use whatever AOSP kernel you like. You can try Quanta kernel (v20). I'm using it on Dirty Unicorn rom since 2 months
Thank you very much. So the first is to find the base ROM, AOSP for Chroma. Also, is it correct to assume I have to pick an AOSP kernel for marshmallow (if they have for all of the Android variants)?
Nevermind: It is in Quanta's page for kernel v20:
"This kernel is made for Android 5.1 (Lollipop) up to Android 6.0. (Marshmallow)"
Thanks again.
Hello to all devs for i9505!
Can anyone make ROM based on lastest GPE 5.1 stock or TW 5.0.1 stock with MIUI 8 by patchrom tools? Why it's must be GPE or TW? Coz only stock roms are working properly and fully functional. There is no FCs, all sensors are working fine, no battery drains etc.
I have already tested a lot of Roms from 4.2 to 8.1 based on LOS/AOSP/TW/GPE and can say, that only LOS 4.x, GPE 4.x/5.x, TW 4.x,5.x is working fine. There are some bugs in AOSP/LOS from 6.x to 8.x such as non properly working sensors, camera (low bitrate, not working HDR etc.), microphone... It is good for testing, discovery something new in Android, but it is not good for daily usage.
The best choice for now (in my opinion) is using stock based Roms 4.x/5.x.
And I ask for devs - Can someone make MIUI8 rom based on lastest QG1 TW Rom or GPE 5.1 Rom?
P.S.
There are MIUI5 Roms based on TW 4.x or CM11 in the past by Shiro and Rainbow. I ask something similar but based on stocks 5.x Roms.
