I'm running CyanogenMod-4.1.11.1 a G1 on T-mobile UK, and have google talk setup fine.
I've just added my Yahoo and MSN contacts
http://www.techlifeweb.com/2006/12/how-to-use-google-talk-and-gmail-with.html (needed to use an different gateway) and everything works fine via gtalk in a web browser and pidgin, but when I try to send a message to an MSN account using google talk on the G1 it just dies when the name is selected from the friends list.
Just tried reverting to 4.0.4 and the behaviour is the same.
Is anyone using the built in gtalk app to send to MSN/Yahoo accounts (or even seeing the same issue)?
Thanks

you can use on pc... not a android phone
Since yesterday, I'm having a problem over 3G.
The default browser when I try to access any https page:
Data connectivity problem
A secure connection could not be established.
.. Weird thing, happens with everything, web banking, google account login, google buz, etc
Isn't the provider, because opera can access any of them, and I could live with opera, but also a couple of applications like 'soundhound' I think they use https also, because won't work , but If I go by wi-fi, everything comes back to normal.
Someone told me about cleaning APNs, did, but the same result.
Using rooted 026 version, everything fine from months ago, but yesterday started with this weird problem
I have a similar problem. In the default browser, when I try to log in to my online banking account (Westpac), instead of displaying the page like normal it downloads it and I have to open it from the downloads. It's weird and I cant actually click anything on the downloaded page. But in Opera it works fine, so does anyone know if there's a fix and how?

exactly, opera mini works fine, but the problem isn't only about using Opera, it's that another 3 applications seems to use https
gtalk
gmail
buzz
and I can't post buzz with the widget, not use gmail app, not even gtalk.
soundhound also works only on wi-fi.
I can play some games without wi-fi, just 3G, access most pages.
The only problem seems to be https on 3G.
Already read a lot of workrounds on other devices, but seems isn't related to my problem.
I am unable to login gtalk with WIFI. It only login with mobile network connection.I have already tried clearing clear catch & data for gtalk, gmail, gtalk service, etc etc but no use. And due to this I also cant download any thing from market. Although I can browse, use face book etc with WIFI on.
Any solutions?
My phone (htc magic, running Cyanogenmod-6.1.0-DS) had been working fine. Two days ago, I tried a different SIM card to see the contacts/sms stored inside. Then I changed back to my original SIM card.
Since then I have problem accessing Gmail, market, whatsapp, engadget and any other web-accessing apps on data connection. I have no problem surfing internet though. I also can access Gmail, market, whatsapp, etc. when I am on wifi.
I tried the following methods found online but the problem still exists:
1) switch off, take out battery & SIM, put them back, start the phone;
2) change time setting;
3) sign in youtube with gmail account when I was on wifi.
Can anyone help? Thank you!!
Anyone? Really appreciate if you could help
Hi There,
So today i am experiencing the strangest thing. I have not touched any settings anywhere that i know of but all of a sudden:
Mainly google apps (Gmail, Drive, YouTube, Play Store, Hangouts, a Google search within Samsung Internet Browser, Google login to Flipboard function) do not get an internet connection via Mobile Data on my phone
Other apps like Dropbox, Facebook, Facebook Messanger, Internet pages in the Samsung Browser, etc) load just fine as allways
Connecting to my wifi network all the apps from point 1 load without an issue just as any other as well
I am not at my mobile data cap.
I have not touched any sort of mobile data restriction setting or any other system setting recently that could've caused this.
So what in the blue hell can cause this and how do i fix it? (Don't want to hear about doing a full phone reset because that is not something i wish to do)
Cheers
