[question] theme for stock u8800 2.3.5

hello guys
i opened tis topic because i'd like to know few things:
1. is there any possibility to change theme on u8800 stock 2.3.5 overseas firmware....
2. and if there is a possibility then how can i do it....
i'd like to have black menus and settings and such

thanks but that's not what i want....i want to change entire UI not only launcher theme..

We dont have a working recovery for official GB yet I believe. Right? It is not possible to install custom themes if CWM doest work.

yes it is possible without cwm........i'm planing to modify stock theme as i see there is no one interested yet to do it and when i'm done i might upload it....;P

Ah ok. I have not yet tried the official. Is there some kind of a theme app? Or are you just going to put the theme files to rom and flash it?

i don't know about app...but i pulled framework-res out of system and now i made some changes in it...and now i will simply push the framework-res.apk back to system and reboot phone...hmmm...abn see what happens....
btw: i just replaced some png's that bodered me

You could try that one, but first do an nandroid backup in cwm
The theme is great but when I rebooted the phone it was in bootloop.

I liked the battery icon and the transparency in the screenshots.
I've installed it but, after that, all apps are force closing.
and because of that the phone is rebooting (not a complete reboot but restarting all apps).
I tried wiping cache and dalvik cache but it did not work.
are you using the AdvancedStock v1.1? that might also be a requirement.
I'm running stock rom with no mods

Hummm, maibe you need antonios rom... iv done th theme for it, can you try on advancestock rom?

you can't because the stock rom is odexed,need a rom deodexed.
@diego-ch you should deodex the stock rom.

Restore data problem
i installed your rom and wiped data and it booted corectly, but when i want to restore data, after that, it keeps rebooting. Why?

Bootanimation need some features in the kernel, Diego is working on it..

I just saw it on the portal. Really caught my eye, since it replicates one of my favorite parts of JB onto ICS. Plus, it's MDPI
Right now, I'm going to decompile their modded and stock systemui.apk to see what was edited.

confirmed not working by just flashing the files in our optimus one, lol

I'm actually going to hold off on that now because I just PM'ed the OP of that thread, serajr, and he just told me that he is going to make a guide for it :victory:
Pretty hyped for it because I like ICS stability but JB looks, so once the guide comes out, I'll take a look at it.

And IMO dont you think making this included in a ROM will put many ICS users in a sad state, what if they love the ROM they are using nd they'll hav to flash the whole new ROM again (personally I dont care about that much ) I know you guyz can do it but you guyz should also make a flashable zip or just pushable apks..

Oh, what I meant was hard coded into the actual interface, not an app that does it for you. Really, it's just a flashable zip with the modded SystemUI.apk (for the method that is on the XDA portal). For the app mentioned above, just install it

ya u can just take the system.ui and framework.res from any miui rom
make compatible with your rom using android kitchen
or just contact a developer

If I remember correctly, Andy's Phoenix rom had Miui like toggles, maybe the code from there could be ported to an ICS rom, it wouldn't completely change the whole rom, but just the SystemUI and Framework-res. I unfortunately don't have the time to learn smali and do something like this. A head full of java and c# is enough for now lol.

I think there is an app called Themes. just search theme engine in play store and download themes. then you can change themes from theme app.
