My phone will make a either a buzzing/sound or a hissing sound from the earpiece when I'm using phone apps (Viber, Tango, etc.) to make phone calls.
When I'm on a data call, sometimes the earpiece will produce a constant buzzing sound. Or sometimes there will be no buzzing and it'll produce a hissing sound (after each word the other person says).
Using the regular phone, voice calls are clear with no issues.
I'm wondering if it's a hardware defect or network issue?
I'm on AT&T btw.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with my phone or it's like this with all Window based phone but when I am in a call, I hear this buzzing sound through the earpiece. I believe what I'm hearing is the radio frequency or so... Is there a way to remove it or it's always there?
Thanks
Hi,
I have a problem with incoming calls, it happened 3 times already. A call is incoming, phone rings, I answer it.
I hear a second or two of the other person's voice, then I hear constant buzzing sound (or no sound at all). When I try to disconnect, the phone app goes off like it was disconnected, but the top bar icon "in a call" is still there. Then I can't make another call, disconnect this one etc. If I want to call that person back, I have to soft reset the device.
Did anyone of you encounter such a thing?
When I place a call my VZW LG G2 makes a tone to signify the beginning of the outgoing call. I don't really like it, but it's pretty harmless, so I thought nothing of it. When connected to my car's bluetooth the sound that comes over the speakers to signify the start of a call is absolutely ear shattering. Thankfully the first time it happened I was sitting in a parking lot, but it was very startling. I've gone through all of the sound, notification, and call setting menus. This wasn't an issue with my GNex, so I don't think the car is producing the sound.
Does anyone know how to disable this sound, or at least know which sound file is being referenced so I can replace it with an empty file (I'm rooted)?
I didn't notice this until I was using it to make calls and using the speaker. When I make a call using hangouts, speaker phone causes an echo not for me but for the people I call. I confirmed this and its something to do with OnePlus Two, even this issue persists on OnePlus One, even til this day.
This seems to affects 3rd party apps like Skype, Hangouts, ect.. If calls are made with the phone (SIM) speaker phone echos don't happen at least not through extensive testing.
Can anyone else confirm this issue? The echo goes away with bluetooth or headset mic connected. Just sucks that this exists.
I have the same problem
Me too. The feedback in hangouts makes it unusable for video calls.
I have SIP calls (VoWiFI) enabled on my OP5 running rooted OOS. After a while (some seconds up to one minute so far) there is a loud, almost deafening sort of buzzing sound, drowning out every sound from the call peer. After it started, it doesn't seem to vanish, at least not for the next 30 seconds or so.
I have call recording set up on my PC, it's been working fine there for over a year now.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
The issue seems to be related to the phone speaker
I have this same problem, and it is temporarily solved by changing the sound output to the speaker, and then returning again to the phone speaker, but usually the buzzing returns.
