[Q] LG-G2 D-805 KitKat Update - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I have the LG-G2 D-805 (Claro Dominican Republic) and I know the KitKat update is compatible with the D-802 but what I would like to know is if we have a way to update without reinstall the whole Operating System (ROM), I would like to update above my current installation.
How can I accomplish this (supposing that it's possible).
Regards

Update via FOTA

That would be the best case scenario but sadly the update isn't available yet, that's why I'm asking.

Installing Polish 4.1 Release

I want to install the Polish 4.1 Firmware but have some questions.
What's different between this and the U.K firmware? What will be different?
If I flash the Firmware through Odin, it resets and I lose all my stuff right?
(Also I'm not rooted and don't want to root)
I would also like to do this but do not know the consequences

You phone will think it's in Poland and if you use any banking apps you will not be able to use that's why I don't install it

And you don't lose data or anything?
Hmm, don't know if I should install now or just wait for the official U.K update.
I just installed pal no problems so for running very very smooth

I'm in Puerto Rico and I'm using polish firmware just fine. No problem with apps or even the market.

I installed it. Nice but reinstalled ICS. Lose too many things IMO including battery life.

How do you get the polish fw? Do you change your regional settings to Poland or download it on pc and flash it?

And no, the Polish version doesn't affect the apps that you'll see on the Google Play and won't make your phone think that it's in Poland. The Odin installation will most likely wipe your phone, so be sure to backup everything before flashing. But just to be on the safe side, if you don't know what you are doing, don't flash it and wait for the official release on your region.

Anyway to get the current and future updates of ota for rooted f320s

Hi all, I am using a rooted F320s korean variant. I have rooted recently and now there is a ota that I am unable to install due to the lg root check. So is there anyway I can receive the current one and everyone after this without doing a clean flash back to root? Thanks a lot for you help.

with having a Canadian/Mexican variant (w8) you can upgrade/downgrade from JB > KK and KK > JB.
Your Baseband (from what I can tell at least) is still on JB, however your KK looks OK. - any specifc reason as to why you asked if it was a beta? it's just beta's don't come around too often and you usually gotta have inside connections to get one. Unless one leaks of course and you purposely flash it.
I askd this because I buy the phone from someone online so I asked this just to be sure that I don't have a wrong version

Plug your phone into your PC and run KIES it'll give you all your version information and if you are on the latest software etc.

Where can I find Baseband/modem for 5.0 TW rom?

Im not sure but i guess if you flash via odin it will be a fresh clean install so you better backup all your data and go for it.
The process is quite simple, just download 4.4 rom from sammobile and make sure you have the drivers installed in your PC.
There is an explanation of the process in sammoblie just follow it.
GL and let us know if it worked :good:
PS: No root needed
