[Q] New and need help - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I visit this forum often and love it love the hard work everyone puts into tutorials. I hate for this to be my first post but I'm trying to put my RAZR m back on stock 4.1.2 so I can take the OTA update for 4.4.2 I have already tried to flash using RSD lite and it failed now when I restart my phone it goes to ap fast boot but when I use the button combo I can boot into regular mode. I used the correct 4.1.2 firmware rsd lite failed at step 1 of the flashing process. I'm still a noob at flashing any help you give will be greatly appreciated.

Check this out and make sure you follow the directions exactly: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/45495-how-to-xt907-upgrade-to-kitkat-ota/ . I used it and had no issues.

[Q] Use ClockworkMod Recovery to get back to stock and out of boot loop??

I have a HKT75D xoom that I was trying to re-lock and unroot. Something along the way obviously went wrong. I think I may have used the wrong stock files to return it to stock and then locked it, but I am unsure. I do know that I am stuck in a boot loop now. If I turn the Xoom off...it just turns itself back on and sits and the M. I can get to fastboot, clockworkmod recovery, and rdp? (i forget the name, but its the other option under Android Recovery at startup.)
Is there any way I can use clockworkmod recovery or another method to restore my xoom to stock or have I bricked it? I have a 3G/Wifi xoom that is currently nothing more than an expensive paperweight so any help would be appreciated!
Its really really really hard to brick these things. With motorola devices, you just need to get RSD Lite running (a PC program), get into RSD mode on the device and then connect to the computer. You can then flash a stock sbf file and that will bring you back to stock firmware.
I can't provide links right now but if you look around/wait for someone, you'll be just fine. The fact that you can get into CWM, fastboot and **** is a good sign. The key is to not panic and do plenty of reading on how to troubleshoot this.
Thanks for the reply. I have done a ton of reading and became a bit overwhelmed so I knew posting would be the good thing to do. I just need some guidance here. I went and snagged RSDLite 5.6 from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348587
I believe that is the latest version. My question is where do I find a stock sbf file for my 3G/WiFi motorola xoom?
Edit: I got my xoom connected to RSD Lite and get the following in device properties if it helps any:
IMEI/ESN/MEID: N / A
Technology: N / A
Software Version: N / A
Flex Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: v0x001050
DRM Version: N / A
Phone Type: Engineering (0288504140C00557000000000000)

What region is your device from?
My Xoom is US.
Ok, in order to have your xoom seen in RSD you need to be in RSD mode on the Xoom. In order to get there, turn it off. Then hold power and volume up and it'll get you into rsd mode. Once it says something like "starting RSD support protocol" you can plug it in and RSD lite should recognize it.
Now you need the sbf file. I'll have a look around but I swear the file was posted on these boards somewhere before.
Edit: Found a thread with a ton of different SBF files for various regions. There is a VZW 3.2.2 sbf file toward the bottom of the OP. Make sure to charge up before you flash and as per usual, I am not responsible for anything that happens from flashing. Best of luck to you!
Thanks again for the help...unfortunately the filesharing sites linked no longer allow downloads.
I will keep an eye out for the file but if anyone knows a place then please let me know !
oh damn
I'm sorry
I found this. I don't know about legitimacy but perhaps its worth testing.

Are you locked or not? I don't know if your stock restoration project was successful since you say you can boot into CWM recovery (stock would overwrite the recovery). Just make sure that you have a flashable rom zip file on your sdcard and then boot into CWM recovery and flash it. You're rooted so you know how to do that. FYI, you should probably do a complete data wipe/factory reset, cache wipe and dalvik cache wipe.
Why did you want to revert to stock/re-lock? Are you selling your Xoom or sending it to be fixed? If you wanted to upgrade to ICS, there a CWM flashable stock ICS rom available in the Development section.
I figured out that I was using the wrong stock img's from motorola dev. Used the right ones and now running Ice Cream!!!!!
ty for all the answers and help

oops ive killed it

hi guys.......lets cut to the chase......i think ive killed my atrix.i flashed it with the aura rom last night but had a few probs with it..it all booted and worked etc..so in my infinate wisdom i flashed it again.....but now it just hangs on the dual core logo, ive tried full wipes etc caches and all....tried to reinstall and all goes ok but it just wont boot, tried other roms but they wont install
if someone could help a noob id be grateful.....a pointer in the right direction or even step by step would be awsome, thanks in advance
Turn ON while pressing the volume UP button and see if "Starting RSD protocol" shows up.
If yes, I think you can use RSD Lite to flash the original rom SBF of your phone.
Which one do you have? An AT&T?
sorry should of said its t mobile uk and yes i can get up the starting rsd but ive never used rsd lite or flashed sbf things before
Using RSD Lite isn't recommended. But in your case I think it's necessary.
You can search for the original SBF rom of your phone while waits for someone more experienced to answer your question.
I've killed my phone 3 or 4 times and RSD Lite + my original SBF rom always "ressurected" it.
But wait for someone more experienced.
ok will do ....but i have no idea what im looking for,but thanks for the reassurance
this is the rom i had used if it helps for info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186990
and when connected to rsd lite i get this info
IMEI/ESN/MEID: N / ATechnology: N / ASoftware Version: N/aFlex Version: N/aBootloader Version: v0x000007DRM Version: N / A
RE:
Sorry for the hijack but i am having the same issue. Now my battery is dead and it says its starting RSD lite protocol but then says battery is too low to flash but it won't charge it at all. Anyone have a link to the battery cable hack?
RE: fixed
I got my issue fixed by rigging a charging cable straight to the battery... Risky but it worked!
As far as fixing the other issue, I downloaded the stock 4.5.141 sbf file and flashed it through RSD lite so that should fix your issue as well. Once i did that I followed this guide and rooted, unlocked, installed cm9.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
well bit suprised at the lack of input but ive sorted it myself anywa.....flashed it with fruit cake and tht got it up and running (lucky as when it fired up it had 11% battery left)
i formatted the storage both internal and external,i then reflashed it with
cm7 mod 3
so its up and mended

[Q] Please help! No booting after flashing a SBF with RSD lite (SOLVED)

Hello,
I know there are some similar threads, but the solutions given don't seem to work for me.. I really hope somebody could help me here.
History:
It's a green lens defy, that first came with Eclair. I had to send it in once and it came back with Froyo, which was slow and annoying from the start.
I wanted to get quarx CM10 (Android 4.1) on it. To do this, I followed the video guides by "locslikes" on youtube (can't post links). First I rooted the phone, then on the video "MOTOROLA DEFY UnBrick Restore to Default SBF" we have been following the xda thread "Is your DEFY / DEFY+ bricked??". It links to a list of sbf-files, and I wasn't really sure which one to take. So I just took one that seemed appropriate. Later I tried some others, so I'm not really sure which one is flashed right now. I tried those marked "retail Germany" or "(provider name) Germany". RSD lite 4.9 does the flashing without any problems and gives me a "PASS" in the end. I tried the SBFs called "JRDNEM_U3_2.21.0", "JRDNEM_U3_2.34.1", "JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1".
Now the problem is that the defy doesn't boot at all. I can't get into the bootloader or anything, there is just no reaction from the power button. When I plug it on my computer, the white LED goes on and RSD lite sees my phone. I can flash other SBFs and while the flashing is happening, the defy screen works and gives me the message "updating...". However, when it is done, again no booting is possible. I do not get a Motorola logo or anything, nothing happens.
How can I go back (or go forward to CM10)?
Please help me, I would appreciate it so much.
Regards
Philipp
it seems like you have to send your phone to repair service again, this issue seems to be with the bootloader has been corrupted and you wont be able to solve it yourself, it needs some very high skills and riffbox hardware flasher with jtag which is really difficult
I was able to boot it up again... this SBF-file did the job for me:
JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYOO2DE_P021_A010_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf
I just kept trying lots of different SBFs and that was the solution....
Sorry for bothering you
Please provide the link for that file ...
Hey i been searching for a good SBF file for my Motorola defy MB525 ... every SBF i been trying to flash did not work/ boot but only one i came across which is not stable i.e. JORDN_U3_97.21.51.rar well .. i'll b much obliged if u provide me the link (with spaces) n help me out buddy. you can send the link to this address > [email protected]

[Q] defy cant get to any bootloader at all

first off im not a noob at this kinda stuff ive rooted tablets and other phones before. so ive spent the past week or so every night for hrs searching around for an answer to my problems.
phone info
carrier:Straight Talk
MN: XT555C
AV:2.3.7
Base band vr: PCR
Kernel vr:Apps_2.6.38.6-perf
Build number:1_67D_1014
OK on to the proses i used:
first rooted phone with VROOT
pic 1(the pic with the Foreign letters)
gained root
pic2 (pic with root checker)
easy enough right
then tried 2int every vr of it witch said they installed just fine
but every time i would try to go in into the boot-loader nothing no blue light no auto boot loader screen just nothing.
so i searched for different kinda boot loaders witch lead me to twrp and only like two more
nothing couldn't get any of them to work on account of the fact that they needed a Boot-loader to install them.
then i decided i would try rsd lite
downloaded sbfs
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordan/list.php
ive tried the first and last one not sure witch one is for my phone
when i hit VOL+ power i get this screen:
pic 3(white screen with blue letters)
and rsd reconised the phone but phone info came up mostly as
N/A and nothing would flash just kept giving me
error:failed flashing process. failed flashing process phone 0000 error sending ram to bootloader
then when i had the phone try to just boot normaly with rsd open i got this screen:
pic 4(black screen with white letters)
all things aside i have gained root but to no avail can i get a Boot-Loader to work. im just looking for some one to help shed some light on this matter and help me get off of Ginger Bread

Have you tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743764
It worked for me.
i have now tried that and it was useful as far as the commands in the bat file but still nothing i did worked
i unrooted it the wipe cash and factory restore the Zerg Exploit did not work it would not root it so i used the commands to install bootloader it worked with no errors my led turned green to show success but still no blue light or Boot-loader. even when i use
E:\android\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20131030\sdk\platform-tools>adb shell
$ su
su
# reboot boot-loader
reboot boot-loader
it just reboots normally
any one else have some info?
so i still cant get a bootloader to come up ive been at this for a while and am still stumped i gain root and su but no custom boot loader just the stock one.
Root, install 2ndinit, install CM10, install CM10.2, install update-recovery.zip, REBOOT (without any wipe), install CM11 and GApps.
^
so this is just so people can see where im at in the chain of things here. im at the install 2ndinit
nother update so i desided i needed to push the files from bootmenu.tar.gz onto my system and see if it changed anything(also did the same for twrp and a few vrs of other bootloaders)
so i went and got http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687590
witch worked well and after i used the program to send the files where they need to be and tryed to reboot into bootmenu the phone still just restarted normally.so now the files are where they need to be adn it should let me into the bootloader but no im at a loss i dont understand how sompthing so simple could turn out to be like this. every one else can get it and ive followed like every set of direction i could find on this site over and over agen then i started experimenting with it and still nothing no matter how the files get there still no bootloader all i want is to be able to install JB and get the hell off of GB. and its not like im getting any help from this post i hope a dev can come by here soon and help me shed some light on things. untill then ill keep updating the post

I don't think the XT555c has a JB or even a ICS ROM. You can debloat GB and stay on it.

ive read thru a few threads other than those also and other people with the same mn and build have done it......
thats from my understanding that they wer able to get a boot-loader to work witch i can not get into a bootloader at all.and RSD wont flash anything to the phone evern tho ive used diffrent vr of rsd and the moto drivers.
so am i to assume that it just cant b done? that i could understand but other people with this phone/67d have done it and ive sent them pms but no reply same with some of the devs here who have helped others get this phone going so i guess im at a loss with this straight talk phone at least with installing a custom boot-loader/ROM.at least the phone works.....just outdated.screw you motorola
just a reply
@jimbob it my feelings that the "USA Moto defy xt555c, Straighttalk" does not have a blue LED built in. There is no evidence of it other than i have never seen one during the last year or so of having the phone (yes i do a lot of bluetooth stuff). Also to shed some light on your situation it is my understanding that 67d firmware has patched an exploit with the older bootloader and now has been upgraded to bl7. if this is your bl ver number then it is slim you will find the answer to your problems here. the only option i can come up with is to get or make fixed sbf for the device and flash/ downgrade. fixing the sbf only lies to the phone and tells it you have a higher ver android than you really do.... go figure motorola would be good at burning bridges! LMAO
thanks for replying. not to sure how to make a fixed sbf and the ones i found would not work because i couldn't get the program to flash anything to the phone. but then agen i never made a custom one

[Q] Help with Seriously Bricked Moto DEFY, PLEASE READ!

Hello,
i know there has been a lot of Bricked Defy posts and i've read them all. I think my Defy is really Dead.
I had my stock Defy and wanted to instal Kit Kat on it. So i followed some you tube instructions and made it work., the only problem is that i did not have Data working any more, i could make calls but no Data., So, i decided to restore my previously created nanobackup (is that how it's called) anyway, it failed, gave me some errors and my phone was then stuck on the M screen.
As i previously made it work, i grabbed the SBF i had and flashed it using RSDLite and now my phone is dead :crying:
I first thought that my battery was dead, but i have performed the MacGiver method and i can see the phone on RSDlite and i can re-flash it, but nothing happens, when the flash finishes, it reports "PASSED" and the phone remains dead.
as i read in other posts the phone is not booting because my SBF is older or something, but i cannot find any newer SBF, i have the following:
JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-33-INESE_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B50AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTINT15_P001_A013_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz

and

Since had kitkat working for a while, do i have to find a much newer SBF, some newer than Kitkat or what should i do.
Any help would be greatly appretiate it.
thank you
I will follow this thread.
I think i may have the same problem
