When I record a video on the s5 an play it back on any device there is a white noise an you cannot hear any sound that was present when recording
But if I play any video that was not recorded on my s5 it plays perfect
Any ideas?
Just tried a factory reset but the problem is still here
So I also tried several third party video recorders an still get white noise
I tried the built in voice recorder I can record voice with that play it back an it is fine
This only seems to happen when taking a video an I don't know why
Guess I'll take it back to att tomorrow an see what they will do

Just wondering does anyone experience the problem of recording a video on the Omnia 7, yet no sound is recorded during playback?
I've noticed this heaps of times where apps which require the mic (Shazam, bing voice search, and as mentioned recording a video) does not pic up any sound. The only way to remedy this problem is by dialling a contact and ending it right away before it alerts them. This kind of activates the mic of the phone. Anyone experiencing this?
No, sound is good with my Omnia. Video recording, apps that require the mic...no problem at all.
Thanks. Weird how mine sometimes dont work. Was recording a video, and when I played it back it had no sound... It seems fine now though, but I reckon it will come back eventually ><
My nexus 4 has started to develop some issues. The most annoying one is the frequent failure of the camera to record video. I press red record button which registers the touch but no recording starts. It will work for a while after a reboot but always happens again.
When i try to use an alternative camera app to record video i get a message saying "oops video recording is not currently working on your device" so its not just the camera app playing up.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it. Running stock and unrooted.
Edit: so playing about with this a bit more and ive discovered it only happens after i try to watch a video from the gallery. So i boot up my phone, record a video and its works ok. I can record videos fine. However if i go into the gallery and try to watch one of the videos playback fails. If i then go back to the camera and try and record a new video i get the issue as described above. BUT if i do the same thing but view the video outside of gallery (i used mx player) the video plays fine and the camera recording continues to work.
So it seems its an issue with gallery playback of the video. I have forced stopped the gallery, cleared data and cache but that didn't help.
Just got mine today. Go and record some video of the kids and dog. play it back and silence. I have no sound with recorded video. Music works, videos on youtube work, speakerphone works. Might have to return this one
I got Nexus 6P yesterday and I noticed an issue. After playing back recorded videos, they all sound very muffled and the only things that can be heard is static and some loud elements in the video, such as hand clapping and so on. But overall it can be said that the videos have no sound at all.
Calling works fine, both others can hear me and I can hear them. And voice recording apps from Play store also record audio perfectly. It only muffles the sound if video is being recorded. I tried other camera apps from play store and they all do not work.
What should I do, is there a fix?
Root is out of the question as I might give the phone away from where I bought it.
since swapping to oreo, I am getting very very muted audio when recording video. zero issues before the switch. Videos for example
Recorded this past weekend. open field, kids cheering loudly Ole' Ole'

anyone else experience this
Update.
went digging. on this thread HERE I downloaded this camera app and am able to capture good clear audio as specified. However, going back to the camera app, very muffled Audio.
Bump, anyone test this out on video recording? does your camera record properly?
