"Official" Lollipop N9005 - What's wrong with you Samsung??

Hi,
I decided to write about my opinion, maby someone can ansewer me.
We have wait a long tiome for official LP rom. Ok, we've had a Leak (quite nice it was i must say) - but with some little issues.
"Now", when OFFICIAL rom is out, same issues i've found in the rom. So? Nothing has changed? =/ What's wrong with Samsung?
I've:
1. No time setting's in Interruptions - still !
2. Green "like" screen - i sometime get green "aplha 50%" like acreen, need to turn off, wait about few seconds and it usually goes to normal.
3. No Tabs in Chrome ?! (or i can't figure it how to lunch it)
4. Light sensor problems - very often my screen is set to minimum (in auto mode) - i have to klick it to manual, then slide to max and finaly change it to auto. (in maximum sunlight i cant do anything because of that)
5. And i found that i can't save (device is not saving) Edited Photos. (via Samsung Photo Editor) ??!! [on leak it was ok!]
So... conclusion? Is this "official" isn't just an earlier simply renamed Leak ?
What's wrong? Now it's time to say to KNOX "good bye" and switch to CustomRoms - I'm surprised that I was able to withstand so many time
PS. Can anyone give a clue about nice stabile TW custom rom (Lollipop) with most od N4 options? where abowe issues work nice and smoothly

You can uncheck merge tabs and apps options in chrome settings.
this will re-enable tabs...good luck :good:

* OWN OPINION: I don't know this hurries for UPDATE. This isn't anything new. Ohhhhh is because Lollipop is INCREDIBLE, SMOOTH, SUPERFAST, TRY IT BEFORE THE WORLD EXLODE, bla, bla, bla, .... For me still in development. Do you remember when you was using android ICE CREAM and appeared KIT KAT? Nobody remember it ofc... Firmwares with million of fails that they fixed update by update. Leaks, Official, fixes for update the Official, etc... Now Lollipop 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2, 5.1, 5.2... WDF? Hurries for what? I'm very happy with my device using KIT KAT.
* COUNCIL: Wait for the "NEXT" updates. Nobody push you. Ignore button appears when your device receive one update and next time.... don't buy a Samsung :highfive:.

I won't blame Samsung this time. I have always hated TouchWiz but this time they didn't try to do much and remained with Google's iteration of Lollipop, but that didn't make it good. Because Lollipop itself is a Beta version, I am talking about 5.0 here, have no idea about 5.0.1 or later versions.
The problems (bugs rather) Google pushed into Lollipop can overshadow those small bugs of Samsung easily. Omitting Silent Mode and bringing that utterly stupid Priority mode, messing how lockscreen notifications used to work on KitKat etc. are beyond tolerance.

Maby You'r right. I found Lollipop nice and stabile, but it true we will have to wait for all minor fixes. Probably to v. 5.5.8
But my Q was about "official/ vs. / leak" - do think it is the same one ?

who is experiencing a major touchwiz home issue after lollipop ?

Hello xda !
I have recently updated my s4 gt-i9505 to android lollipop 5.0.1. Now, i am, like many others experiencing a touchwiz home issue. It will just crash when trying to place or move an icon on the home screen.
Booting in safe mode, clearing the system cache and erasing touchwiz home's data don't fix the issue. So i think/hope it is related too our device's settings/ disabled apps/ installed apps.
Has anyone managed to get rid of this issue or could people experiencing the same issue post a list of their installed and disabled apps ? I have attached my app list to this post.

Let me try that

Working fine here other than a few wee niggles.
SPlanner stops occasionally and I have to reload the widget on the homescreen and on a couple of occasions I've not received a notification tone when I've had a text but it's still vibrated and still had the notification message but that's only happened 3 times in the last few weeks.
I've used Titanium to freeze quite a few apps, such as the Samsung bloat-ware and most of the Google play apps.
Overall I'm happy with lollipop.

Chrome redraw and keyboard redraw many times home screen back to stock wallpaper once in 2 days auto restart..

Thank you for the info, I "undisabled" all my apps and did a restart, but that did not fix it.
Are there any others trying to fix or managed to fix this issue ?

Whatever you do these bugs come after few days of restarting your phone.. Lollipop fix needed very fast samsung should be reported to release a very fast

Yeah, it is a really bad update, some people mention that a factory reset doesn't fix it, some say it does... I do still think the problem is samsung related and that they will have to fix it.

Today I called customer service people they saying the fix is coming soon but compete stable rom will take at least 2 months

Thank you for your reply ! I tried the same but they would not answer my question and they «weren't aware» of the issue... It's good to know they are working on it, better late then never !

Everyone facing different kind of bugs lag is with Lollipop animation and touchwiz gallery phone are normal.. Worst bug is homescreen redraw and turning back to stock wallpaper and many times keyboard goes and you think what you can do to type now
Ya they told me the more people will call and tell them they'll send reports to there rnd for faster bug fix

Guys, i got some great news ! I have found the fix, turn off motion under motions and gestures in settings. No restart is required !

Another update ZE551ML, no change log posted yet

Still [email protected] 5.0, hope camera and battery improves

Regarding the battery, there is something going on with kernel wakelock. It was held awake for 3.5 hours and lost 25% overnight. Could just be initial maintenance type OS stuff. Will check further if this issue continues. Battery life during actual use of the phone seems okay. Also, there may be an issue with calibration of % to actual life left. Will run it down all the way to see how it lasts on 1%.
The camera will be very difficult to improve. The lens is the lens and the sensor is the sensor. Software trickery can help with some things, but unlikely to improve much. That being said, the camera seems okay to me. Not the best I've seen, but have seen far worse. I'll have some comparisons up within the next few days.,

Yes, if you looked at the screenshot, the latest update makes the kernel April 25, 2015, but sadly its still 3.10.20 (which is probably the part you care about and not the date.)

I see the ROM date, not the kernel date in the screen shot. I'm looking for the kernel date specifically (need kernel newer than 16-APR) Though if 3.10.20, it's unlikely to have changed. Thanks.

that's consistant with my other asus products: my zenfone6 received lots of update, besides the play store app updates

Now my instagram crashes every single time after the update. I can open up the app, i can also browse update, always crashes on me when I try to post...:crying:

Sad to hear that they're improving the main weakness of the phone? Or are you referring to the fact they might further mess up the quality with 'optimisations'?

uninstall Android WebView latest update, and you good to go

That didn't work, already tried, but the new Instagram update fixed the problem

22 Nov firmware update got me bugs

After yesterday's update, I can't set a default sim card for calls and messages. And can't set lock screen wallpaper same as home screen. I am guessing there are more bugs to surface. How to resolve these issues?

no way to resolve them, oneplus really screwed us here lol. people may tell you to install garbage third party dialers or default sim override apps which cost money which is ridiculous. up to you if you want to experiment.

Wallpaper - set the one you want for lockscreen to your homescreen. Than set it as lockscreen and switch back your Homescreen.

only lockscreen wallpaper are bugged here but its fine theres a nice one that i can use xD

hey buddy !! same thing happend with my opo2 !! do one thing ! download 2.1.1 firmware as signed zip !!
keep it in root folder ! flash via stock recovery !! u ll boot up nicely ! back to previous !! now this again it ll ask u to download the update !! dont do that !! just have patience for the future updates ! thats what i did because calling is primary function !! i can tolerate if some update messes with up ! cheers !!

It is probably the software that your phone downloaded. Download the 2.1.2 firmware here in XDA, and it flash it to the device. lol

Bluetooth based handsfree is only partialy functioning on multiple cars. Yes, you can dial and receive calls. No addressbook, no Bluetooth DUN, SMS download working sometimes.
And yes, that dual sim default selection for calls is not working too...

Same issue. Only one SIM card will connect at a time. - after rooted .zip update via TWRP.

Mate 8 shuts off off voice-apps overnight

Hello, fine sirs.
I am curious on whether or not you have experienced the issue of calling apps such as Whatsapp or Kakao Talk shutting down after a few hours of use?
I like to sleep with the app still on, but after say 3-5 hours it shuts off automatically.
The apps are white-listed and battery is set to Performance. Neither of these options seem to help.
I don't have any other battery-managment apps installed which may shut down my battery consuming apps.
Any ideas?
Edit: I realize now this question may belong to Troubleshooting subforum. =/ But until deleted, I'll keep an eye here! Cheers.

Have you tried ignoring battery optimization on both apps? Apps> advanced> ignore battery optimizations

Tell as excactly what is your version...AL10Cxxxxxx - L29CxxxBxxx??????
For example with L29C636B103 - L29C636B170 - L29C432B103 - L29C432B152 there are a lot of problems with notifications but when you will upadate to L29C432B170 - L29C636B180 - L29C10B170 it should working all perfect (except Viber maybe)

Hi, that's some very specific information you've acquired! My version is NXT-L29C432B170, therefore one of the ones you've listed as should be working.
Still, if I don't access my phone after 3-4 hours as to "tell" it I still use the voice program, it closes. Sadly.

Then you have to try the newest L29C636B180 rom... You can install very easy with dload method(without root or unlocked bootloader) but you have to know that you will loose OTA update, online themes and 3g - 4g icons only with data closed (when you activate data the icons working perfectly)... But whenever new update for your version(C432) show up you can install it back with dload method and everything will work again (OTA THEMES...)
I have B180 almost a month and everything working great (my version is C636) and notifications... Unless you will have to wait at end of May for B321 to come as update to Europe version (C432) Now only Chinese AL10 has get it....
It's critical to know that every time you update you will have to restore the phone (format) to make sure that everything is set up for andand with new version

I have the L29C636B180 update.
I will note: Notifications for applications are coming more frequently now.
I also note [on the bad side]: Two of my essential apps that rely on automation & wake locks are not functioning properly.
a) Applications are in Battery Manager → Protected Apps
b) Applications are 'Allowed' in → Ignore Battery Optimizations
c) Battery Power Plan: Performance
My 2 applications which relies on timers and wake locks to enable/disable certain features have noted. Their applications are being killed & restarted despite being "whitelisted". They are:
a) Silence Premium
b) Situations
I have a Oneplus One on Marshmallow 6 and this does not happen. What is wrong with Huawei? What is wrong with EMUI. I should not have decided to buy a piece of hardware with software from PROC.
Is someone @huawei actually trying to reach out and fix issues??
