there doesn't seem to be any "send to sd" option in the app manager of any 4.4.2 rom i've tried. 3rd party apps aren't working either.
Is there a way to achieve this with pac rom?

Hello,
I recently root, TWRP, and added CM 10.2 rom, but not happy with current MMS and cam that came with it. I have the original APK files for both but the file manager will not let me install. Do i need a different apk in order to run this or am I missing a gapp file somewhere. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Also Im' running Nova if that makes a difference as well
No you can not, the stock files can only be installed in a stock based Rom.

You cannot simply install stock apps on a custom ROM. With that said, there is a flashable zip for the stock LG camera that works on custom ROMs.

Regarding the messaging app, I've yet to find someone who has made the stock one work on custom ROMs. I agree that the stock mms app is better than AOSP and I'd love to have someone make it work on custom ROMs. Until then, maybe try a 3rd party app, like Textra.

Thanks for the link, but I believe you may have misunderstood me. It's the stock LG messaging app that I prefer and would love for someone to make it so that you can flash it over an AOSP ROM much like there are zips to give you access to the LG QRemote app and stock LG camera app.

Hi,
I have Nexus 4 with stock ROM. I am completely satisfied with that ROM in matter of stability, speed, battery life etc.
Only thing I am missing is to control apps permissions - I was able to control at least something on 4.3 with App Ops, but in 4.4 it is gone (or I cannot find it )
So I am looking for a solution - I do not want to flash custom ROM, but I understand root may be required. Is there some solution I can use in combination rooted Nex 4 with stock ROM?
Thanks guys

with root, you can use the app trickster mod (grab it from google play) to access app ops! ... also other apps, like
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appaholics.applauncher can modifie the application's permissions

Hi, thanks for reply and suggestion,
Permission Manager is only for 4.3 android (not my case)
for trickster mod I see only Kernel app which can modify many settings but cannot see app permissions control

hi is there anyone can help me?
porting the text messaging application is a complete $#@!%^ nightmare... just use 8sms, it nearly exactly the same thing but with more features.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkleft.eightyeightsms.mms&hl=en
"Stock messaging app with useful updates and enhancements.
The latest and best from Android and CyanogenMod.
No bloat. No fuss.
Just a better stock app.
8sms is a port of the Android stock messaging (sms and mms) app with a few extra useful features then added on. The current version is ported from Android "

Try this one. I use on n9005 with Temasek 4.4.4 and works brilliantly.
Rename original mms.apk in system priv app to disable. Copy this one in and set perms to rw-r-r and reboot.
Switch to messaging in settings more and your good to go.

This feature is not natively available on Gingerbread
You would need to use a 3rd party app
For example you could try

Hm.
I thought this was already a CM feature. It can be enabled in CM7 and above in the developer/development settings.
But I don't know about support in stock based ROMs. You can give the link marcus has provided a shot.

There are apps on the play store that you can use to achieve the functionality. I personally use the Rebooter app frrom Rom Toolbox pro, its an all in one app that can do lot of things; however if you just want Advanced Power menu, try the below apps. Do remember these apps require Root access; not sure if there is an app that can do this without root !!

Thanks rbhanot2 for reply, I really wanted a mod or patch, normally I use Wanam Xposed but there's no working exposed framework for Samsung . I don't want to use a custom rom either so hopefully something will turn up.
