N9005 Denmark Modem? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, i am using my N9005 on modem NB1(or NB3, not sure which one was which...) and I have extremely bad 4G signal, very close to none. Before upgrading to KK and messing with the modems, bootloaders, etc, my 4G was almost always full signal, now I barely get any. Can anyone please point me out to which is the best modem for Denmark (Telenor), please?

Avoid messing with the modem/bootloader by flashing the Stock firmware.
That should be fine.

You misunderstand my question... I will keep being on custom roms, that will never change
I was asking which stock firmware and modem was for Denmark. As I have seen, different firmwares were out for different countries. I am just seeking the one for my country

Ok, there are several CSC for your country.
What CSC is your device?

BTU, as stated by your app Phone Info (Original and Curent)

So I don't understand why you are asking stock firmware and modem for Denmark? You should search for BTU firmware, that is available in sammobile.com.

4G not working, urgent

I flashed an international firmware on a Sprint S4, not knowing that it breaks root and custom recovery. I also lost my 4G. I can fix everything except the 4G. No idea how to begin, any idea?

Well you can begin by going to Sammobile and download the carrier's stock firmware. Flash it via odin. Stay on stock until you figure out how to fix 4G on custom roms.
Good luck, Im sure you'd be able fix it by flashing stock rom
Have you tried fishing the Sprint modem?

Sprint Modem? Can you go a bit more in detail please?
Indie offers an "EnableLTE.zip in the i9505 Omega Thread
This maybe fix the problem, OR AT WORST BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Honestly i have no idea if this works, so be careful.
Indie or another skilled person should know of this fix the LTE bug on your Sprint S4.

The modem is part of any full firmware and is usually different for each provider, region etc.
I believe the US lte frequencies are different to most of the other countries so if you don't have the correct modem your phone may be looking for the wrong frequency.
Try this link: http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720)/Modems
Flash the .tar file in odin in the phone section.
Edit: just remembered when the first ipad to have lte was released in Australia, Apple and resellers got into big trouble for marketing it as lte/4g. This was because although it was lte it didn't actually work with Australian lte frequencies. So as I mentioned above you will need a US modem. That's my best bet to get it going again.

Flashed it successfully, yet no 4g. Could it be that I need to flash a different firmware?

Does flashing an official rom from another region trip the knox counter?

Just looking for if this is true or not? There seems to be conflicting info in the general thread about this. Basically does flashing an official rom from sammobile trip the knox counter?
I know in the past with samsung devices I had, the flash counter would never increase as long the rom was official even if it was from another region.
Just interested in flashing an unbranded UK rom to my 9005 so that's why I'm asking.
Thanks for the help.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you want to debrand this should be alright as long as you use a rom from the same region / country.
So if you have an uk branded phone, you should flash stock unbranded uk and this shouldnt trigger knox.
Not sure about region differences, but that could trigger knox.
But all this updates the bootloader - I'm still trying to find out what the real consequences are.

It's actually a Malaysian phone so I would be switching over to another region with the UK rom. I just know with my galaxy tab 2 you could flash roms from where ever and it wouldn't trip the counter as long as it was official. So it looks like this isn't the case anymore?
I had Australian TEL and flashed UK BTU and it didn't trip. Just make sure you factory reset after flashing to get the CSC to change.

Ok that's good to know. The only other thing then is what is everyone talking about how the boot loader apparently changes when you flash a different rom?
Just make sure you flash a recent firmware. Apparently there were some phones that shipped without a secure boatloader. If you flash one of these over a secured one it will trip the flash. Basically if you a recent firmware you should be fine.

AFAIK flashing stock firmwares via odin won't trip the Knox binary counter...

Well if you actually ask a question rather than just saying "what will happen if i flash android 4.4.2 from Spain for Vodafone ??"
To put it straight, you'll have Vodafone's 4.4.2 firmware on your device. It's no different to any other Kitkat except carrier bloatware.
I meant as will it cause a problem as im not on Vodafone carrier!
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Potentially yes. Depends what they have baked into it,could just be Vodafone network, messed up CSC and security etc etc. But then again, probably not.
Word of advice though, seems like Carrier firmwares aren't flashing for people and they seem to work OTA only. The normal XEO Polish ROM works fine for everyone bar HK users.
Thank you, I got my answer.

Carrier firmware is also a lot trickier and might only contain the APNs for themselves and not all the carriers.
Also XEO is known to also have problems on Nordic EU N9005.
Yes I guess you are right @xclub_101 this polish version of kitkat cause me some strange problems and makes my phone restart suddenly when its on standby!!!!!
when I got my phone it was set on French , do you think I should download a firmware for France??
I mean as maybe firmwares for this country be compatible with my phone.

You could try a French frimware and see.

it should be no problem mate
I'm in singapore, own an europe version of N9005. I flashed singapore baseband, europe baseband, any band also can.
As long as stock firmware, very less possibilities to softbrick/hardbrick your device.
