moving apps
According to published info moving apps to ext SDcard in ICS is possible with Gemini App Manager 2.4.5/smile.gif
Thanks for the information. I was wondering which app people were running for moving apps to the SD.
yeah this is def needed, i love this tablet 7
EZ moving apps to SD
The ability to move apps, folders and media files is built into GT2. Use the native My Files app to drag and drop files from internal to external sd card. Move files from the right pane into the External SD card folder in the left pane.
I've used My Files to move files and folders but would that actually work with an app? I would think the app would become unusable or would it even be seen anymore?
I have moved the apk from the data folder into the external SD card and the apps have continued to work fine. Of course some apps should not be moved, ie: those with Widgets.
Well, I'm gonna have try that out. Thanks.

I may be doing something wrong since, despite being rooted, I can't seem to get to the Root directory to access Data/App using the My Files app. Would you mind showing us the steps to do that?
With your suggestion, we have to manually move each app that we install? Kinda tedious.
If so, I'll stick to Link2SD.

Sorry, not the same thing. Moving files from int SD to Ext SD is not the same thing as Apps2SD.
The method list in the OP works for me.
thanks! but the data of the apps, which is the more space that has it can't be moved.
Am I the only one that can't move apks to the external SD?
I tried all of these suggested apps but all of them tell me that there is not enough space...
I've an EMPTY 32Gb SD well partitioned (28gb FAT32 and 1gb Ext3). What's wrong on my tablet? :cyclops:

this does not work and was using v2.5.3 on JB 4.1.1
Stock firmware can't read ext3, u must format your second partition in ext4. Link2sd works, but move only apks data, not all data (u can move an apk of a game but not all 1gb or more...)
Gltosd moves all datas. I use it.
It will be useful if the creator of the script to swap internal/external sd card, will make a p3100 version of his script....
i'm not sure if i'm on the right place for asking this but i have no other place to go.
when we put an sd card a folder with the name LOST.DIR is created
once when i inserted a sdcard that is not the usual that i use, i found that many of my files, such as music, pics and docs, are missing and a large number of files are iin the LOST.DIR folder. i suspect that those are my missing files, however they very far from being usefull.
i would just like to ask is there any hope in recovering those lost files?
I hope you know how to unmount your SD card before removing it from your phone.
Well I know about that
Settings>sdcard and phone storage>unmount sdcard.
Is there a chance to retrieve those lost files, or are they gone for good?

the files are still there in LOST.DIR
You have to add the file type back to the lost file. I believe you cannot get back the name you given to the file or dates.
I got many large files size in LOST.DIR if the phone fail to boot, I dont know if this right or not

LOST.DIR????
i always deleted tihs folder.
but always there again....
and i never have bad experience after i deleted that...:highfive:
LOST.DIR can (gently) describe as the TEMP folder for Android, as in the% System% Windows / Windows / TEMP is the case.
you can delete it 10000000000000,it comes back.so its not necessary to delete these files it comes back.

I'm new to android, I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question:
I rooted my Nexus 4 and was browsing the memory using astro file manager. I don't quite understand the file structure on my phone as to what files are safe to fiddle with and what are not.
For example there are three folders with exactly the same content: storage/emulated, storage/sdcard0, sd card. Why?
Am I right thinking all the folders under the root (home) directory should be left alone? But ones in the above three directory can be deleted? They seems to contain app data.
I want to clean up my phone memory so that's why I'm looking for files to delete.
Thanks everyone

Hi, I have a Nexus 7 wifi version running 4.2.2.
I have two zip files stored on my virtual SD card which I'm trying to delete but can't
although I get the message "was deleted successfully"
Can you please help?
More details. How are you trying to delete them? What app are you using? What files are they? How did they get on your device? Are you rooted?

Could some one help me out here? I tried connecting my phone to PC. I was able to access storage, however, I couldn't access " data/media/clockwork" from there since I only seem to have access to my phones sdcard folder.
Next I used root browser to try and move the files to my SD card. Didn't work. It copy and pasted but the file either didn't get copied or its size was 0 bytes. Tried deleting one backup. It says is been successfully deleted but it stays there and no space frees up on my phone. I'm clueless as to what I should be doing next. Anyone?
Thanks in advance

Move or copy the clockworkmod file straight to the sdcard. System and Data files are not viewable on the pc. Just copied a nandroid to the sdcard with Root Explorer, no problem and it shows up when connected to the pc.

You can also delete backups when in CWM itself, in case you didn't know
Thanks for help guys. It was a simple solution, but often the simple things are overlooked. There must have been something wrong with my superuser permission. Restart fixed it.
