Small note: this version is the most generic of them all. I updated mine using EMMA today , and it moved me from Vodafone Australia right to this one.

I got a 1270-7280 Z on loan from a Sony device loaner program, AFAIK just available in Canada & US. It goes through some intermediate company though.
So seems a good bet to be pretty generic.

If the OTA update is accepted is root lost? From reading other posts I'm guessing it is.

Im installing this on my US Sony Xperia Z SGP311 thanks for the download link will I still be able to recieve OTA updates with this since I cannot find a US Version?

I fail to understand this bigotry though - beta test for Europe and none for India (and possibly rest of the world)

I don't think so. Indian Honor is of a different build (B170) than the European builds and hence manual update would not be possible.
Unless I root, complete wipe my Indian version with a European version, but then I will lose the use of 4G in most parts of India. So not really useful
