Seems that the Flash player is not working in my A7. Some sites, like ESPN, just show the Flash Player logo where the video should be playing.. saying "Get Adobe Flash Player". I see that it is installed on the unit, but is not the latest version(10.1 vs 10.2.152.26). Should I try to upgrade the player or try something else?? I am a newbie to this..so looking for any help out there...Thanx!!!

Google Android Market
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer
CURRENT VERSION: 10.1.106.16
Are you sure that Adobe released new version for Android ?
No.. you are correct. Didn't think to check if the Flash Player I was looking at was for Android. When I look at the application info it says the version on my A7 is 10.1.120.4. Still I am at a loss for what I can do about getting video to play on these sites, such as ESPN. No problem watching movie trailers on IMDB though... HELP!!

Just curious, are you using the stock WebKit browser, or something you downloaded like Opera Mini?
ESPN seems to work correctly with mine. (stock WebKit)
Just the stock browser. Only thing I have upgraded on the unit is the official upgrade from eLocity. It was working then just seemed to stop..Maybe I should do a factory reset...

I get a couple weird glitches once in a while, most seem to be solved by simply power cycling the tab.
Actually the first question I ask when people bring computer problems to me at work... "Did you reboot it yet?" lol
No...dont think its that, as I turn it off everyday. Just went to cnn.com...no video. Says "this CNN feature is optimized for Adobe Flash Player version 9 or higher." The uninstall button is the only button highlighted when I select it under "Manage Applications > Downloaded > Adobe Flash Player 10.1" And when I click on "Running" tab (applications running), its not there. I think my Flash Player is disabled or just not working. Maybe I should uninstall and try to reinstall.
In your browser, go to settings and make sure 'Enable Plugins' is set to always on.
Adobe Flash Won't show under Running even if your browser is currently on a flash page. IDK why.
THAT DID THE TRICK!!!! Thanx Zahg!!!
A few months ago while we were all still running Flash Player 10.1 I found both a Flash Player mod AND a Hulu app that worked with the mod. Surprisingly enough, once Flash Player 10.2 came out that mod still worked. Unfortunately though that mod no longer works with Flash Player 10.3. Does anyone know a new Flash Player mod that's compatible with this latest update? I miss watching Hulu on my phone. :-(

Not sure about 10.3 flash...but why not just go back to 10.2 for hulu?? And if you would...Id like to get that modded hulu app and player info for myself.. how can I get it?
Flash 10.3 with Hulu fix
I haven't tried this on my Droid X but have it working on my android tablets.

Just make sure you uninstall Flash on your phone first before you install this hacked version. Then you will have to change the UserAgent setting on your browser to Desktop. If you don't know how to get to that setting simply type about:debug in the address bar of the browser and hit enter. You won't see anything happen after you do this. Go to Settings and you should have UserAgent as a setting available to you after that. Select Desktop and then you should be good to go.
I've found with Hulu, to be able to play videos without it freezing and/or the screen turning black on you, you will have to get into your settings on Hulu and set your Account/Settings and set your Playback Quality to 288p (you don't want to let it auto-select for you).
Good luck.
One more thing, if you have an ad-blocker like AdFree or something you will have to disable it otherwise Hulu will not like it and eventually stop working for you. It has to play the commercials.
Just tried using SkyFire browser and thats not working too, if only flash would work
Then no it won't work since I've tried the ARM v6 modded Flash Player and it doesn't work on the iPlayer/ITV Player sites and apps.
Would upgrading to the 2.3 release not help this?

BBC made them kill the iPlayer streaming and even with old versions of the .apk they seem to have blocked it from accessing their streams.
There's beebplayer.
There's also catchuptv.com
Think you mean m.tvcatchup.com, only does live tv though
beebplayer hasn't worked (for me) for a long time now
read somewhere that bbc iplayer works on gsf 19 thru skyfire
I use stock browser
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
I can confirm that skyfire can play iplayer files from video library I didn't manage to start the live stream video, but radio streams work fine.
I use GSF (b13), but this should work on other roms (there is no need for flash player).
For some reason, I can no longer play videos on my Galaxy 10.1 tab. What the heck is going on? They played beautifully before ICS, now they play with sound only.
I was using Dice Player with the plug-in, and they worked fine before. But now they won't work. So I deleted them, and downloaded them again, but they still won't work. So I uninstalled them again, and installed the Mobo player. Same thing -- audio, but no picture.
Is anybody else having this problem? I can't believe it's only my tab. Anybody have a solution? Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem after the update to ICS 4.0.4 the problems started.... this is because developers NO LONGER support the ADOBE Flash Player..!!!
Seems both have had issues, so Adobe stopped Supporting and updating and Google or Samsung or both have disabled its functions in the Update ICS 4.0.4...!!
Solution is to find a working / supporting Video Downloader which gives you the choice to View and Downliad Videos..!!
I am now using "Firefox with Video Downloader and the MXPlayer" works well..!!!!!
Just have to test and choose whichever combination works for you.!
Hope this answers your Q's

I guess I should clarify my original post. I have absolutely no problem playing web-based videos. I have no problems with Youtube, and videos play when I visit websites with flash video. My web-based videos play fine whether I'm using Firefox or the stock Android browser.
On the other hand, I am having problems with my personal video files (MP4, MKV, etc.) that I import into my tab. Prior to the ICS update, the videos played fine using Dice player. And even for a couple of weeks after the ICS update, the videos played, although choppy. After consulting with a Samsung tech person, he advised me to do a hard reset of my tab. That seemed to fix things.
But now, my videos play with audio only, no video. I have installed and reinstalled Dice Player, and Mobo Player, but neither work. This is really bumming me out because watching videos is one of my primary uses for the Galaxy Tab.

OK, I've tried everything, and just now (reluctantly) did a hard reset of my tab. No change; I still can't play most of my video files. All I get is sound, no video.
Does anybody have any idea why my video capability suddenly stopped working? I have checked every setting I could find; I have installed and reinstalled video players; and have even tried recoding some of my videos. They are coded at mp4 with H.264. A week ago, they played flawlessly in my Dice player.
Anybody have any suggestions?
I've had my N10 for months but for some reason have never used iPlayer on it.
I went to use it today and when pressing the app it simply opens the mobile iplayer website in Chrome. Is this how it works? Have they been too lazy to actually make an app for Android tabs?
Also when I try to play something it tells me I need to install BBC media player. It is already installed.
I've tried reinstalling both apps and clearing their caches but I'm still having this same problem.
Can anyone help me out here?
just giving this a bump as I'm still having this issue.
I have the media player installed. I get this message even when I open iplayer via the media player app. I've tried clearing the cache of both apps but no improvement.
some help here would be great.
It is a bug that appeared in the last update. Hopefully they will fix it soon as I'm currently having to watch iPlayer on my phone.

I use AOSP browser or any other flash enabled browser like Firefox and play iPlayer in HD straight from the BBC website. I have never encountered a problem doing this. Just remember to request the desktop site in whatever browser you are using.
There are plenty of guides around on how to install and use flash on android 4.2 if you have not got it installed already.
