I also got Knox flag (0x1) if somebody can help me i would appreciate!!. (sorry for bad english)
I assume you have a custom recovery installed? If so, then disable signature verification in the recovery.

Because you do it from stock recovery ?
Flash a custom recovery then flash a new from that custom recovery
I recommend TWRP custom recovery. Just look for ur device model, download it and flash it through odin (the .tar.md5 file)

It won't update to the new software update. It is rooted. Should I unroot? How do I unroot?
This is what I get on download mode:
I updated, and it downloaded a 93.9 MB file, when it ended I pressed install, it rebooted the device and took me to a screen where the android robot is lying on his back (download mode?) anyway, at the bottom of the screen was as follows:
cwm-based recovery v5.5.0.4 : : cf-v1.4
E:invalid command argument
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
if u mean u downloaded a ota update, even with cf root which should work with OTA updates it is not recommended as they can fail. Either use kies to update your phone which will work with root but will remove root in the update process so youll have to run cf root after the update.
Or flash the updated rom using odin, youll find the new rom version on sammobile.com for your region/provider. This will also remove root during the flash so cf root will be required afterwards to get root back

Thanks you Will do it through Odin, is there a tutorial on here how to use Odin?
I have it, and used it before, but only to root, never to flash a rom.
Thank you

Hi,
when i arrived to the step when i need to install the rom (zip file) , in recovery got error which says:
this package is for "t03g,n7100,gt-n7100" devices this is t0lte.
i know for sure that my device is n7100.
can you help me please?
10x.
phliz recovery
could it be because i installed phliz recovery that is for lte mode and i have n7100?
the page that i downloaded from said it works for n7100,n7102,n7105, but in the file name was lte. "t0lte/philz_touch_6.07.9-t0lte.tar.md5", where it says LTE version.
Flashing a recovery explicitly for the n7100 should solve your problem. Assuming that you want use PhilZ, try this one: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/n7100/philz_touch_6.15.4-n7100.zip
Hi,
Thanks for the reply,
I've tried to flash via zip the appropriate version before you replied (philz_touch_6.07.9 n7100 zip)
And again got a message that the package is for n7100 and mydevice
is t0lte.
Will your link be different?
i took it to the store for checking, and they said that they tried to install stock rom but its not booting... strange.
is this can happen because i installed a wrong recovery and did format /system ?

If you formatted /system, Android won't boot until you flash a new ROM.

I know, but I can't install a new Rom that's the problem,
It says, when I tried install n7100 4.4.2 omni Rom, that this is
A package for n7100 and my device is t0lte, I think
It says that because of the wrong recovery. Again i try to
Install new recovery via zip from the recovery itself and it says
The same error.
I gave my device to the store to check and they tried install
The stock Rom with no success via Odin..
Any help appriciated
Thanks.
Then you have to "force flash" the recovery via PC using Odin, heimdall or flashboot.

Hi,
Can you tell me exactly how to "force flash" via odin?
Step by step?
Btw, if I have omni Rom, zip file, can I use Odin?
Thanks.
In recovery, as you already know, I did format/system.
What the /system do exactly?
Is it because that I flashed recovery for the t0lte version
I get the error? Or because that from the wrong recovery
I did format/system?
I just want to know why I get this error when flashing rom: "this package is for t03g,n7100,gt -n7100 devices this device is t0lte " when
my device is n7100.
Thanks.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash an appropriate recovery for your device.
You somehow managed to install a t0lte recovery. You need an N7100 recovery
Hi guys,
i have read a lot of articles and tried a lot of combinations... problem still there.
My problem is on GT-I9505 when I start the phone, only after the first start after new firmware update, I could see for a second animated samsung logo but seems that is collorized (some red, lila colors on it ) and then black screen, vibration and restart. The blue light will blink all the time.
I'm able to get into download mode and recovery mode (if is called like that)
What all i tried - some of them:
-tried to install with Odin new/old firmware. Everytime it is successfully but the problem still there
-tried to wipe to the factory
-tried with odin also ROM to put (not sure if is possible this if phone is not rooted and it is not, because i don't know how to do that if i can't boot it)
Any help?
Tnx
You can't put a custom rom on it through Odin. You will need a custom recovery for that, which can be flashed with Odin.
Then you can flash custom roms. Google s4 twrp or i9505 twrp, you should get to the twrp site from where you can download the recovery and you can also find instructions.

Tnx for the answer. I have tried with twrp (i flash that recovery) but every time checking MD5 of ROM (zip) is failing. I also tried with zip.md5 file next to rom with content like : 11111xxsx3333 *file_name.zip
But is not working still...

In progress. Just to mention that phone is not rooted. I think that shouldn't be a problem ? And also debug mode is not enabled (because i can't turn on my phone)
Ah... I tried also another ROM. Still same.
Checking for MD5 file... (it took about 1,2 min)
E: Aborting zip install
MD5 does not match
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/.....
Updating partition details...
...done

MD5 errors are usually caused by the file not being downloaded correctly.
I know, but if i don't put I md5sum file nexto to the zip ROM, then immediately check error appears. I'm using check md5 app and i have checked the file also on SD card...
This S4 is from Austria T-Mobile...seems so hard to install custom ROM. I'm not able also from CWR to install from zip.
I tried also different ROM-s. Is not possible that all 5 zip ROM are corrupted in download. When i check with MD5 checker says OK.
Only what I could install from SD was Supers user.zip (that should be root phone)
If somebody has some suggestion I would appreciate otherwise i will give up.
Hiii guys
I just messed up my phone ahahahahahahah ( lol I am going crazy )
I wanted to install a Galaxy Note 7 Porting (?) Rom on my Note 4.
The rom and the kernel I installed is supposed to be only installed on n910c/h.
I cannot find any kernel for this phone..
The problem going on my phone is :
- I tried installing a stock rom back on my phone and it shows up DRK error. ( Its saying DRK is not installed )
- Whenever I charge my phone when its off, I cannot even turn it on. It will freeze so I have to reinstall the battery to turn it on.
- I managed to install some other roms but it only shows black screen.
- No problems on the recovery. Recovery supports my model.
can someone help me to find a kernel for this phone? I am keep googling to save this phone.
( nah should I just throw away this phone and get a new one? lol jk )
I FIXED MY PHONE!
- First, download the stock .md5 file from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N916K/. OR if you can understand Korean, http://www.matcl.com/torrent/3013489. ( This website is more faster to download but requires you to register )
- Second, get the .md5 file by extracting the .zip file.
- Third, Install the .md5 file.
- Now, it will show the DRK error.
- Install CF-Auto Root https://download.chainfire.eu/834/C...to-Root-tre3caltektt-tre3caltektt-smn916k.zip
- Be patient, phone will be rebooting for 3~4 times.
- Now you're done!
+ I will keep this thread open just in case some other people needs help.

Download stock firmware for your device and you can extract the kernel.
You have to rename the stock firmware from (home.tar.md5) to (.zip)
Then extract the file you will get (boot.img) thats the kernel.
Copy to device and flash from twrp recovery (flash image) method.

Your DRK (DEVICE ROOT KEY) is messed up.
Try on your own risk.
Go to www.tsar3000.com and download repair firmware for your model .
Extract repair firmware you will get 5 files (BL,AP,CP,CSC,PIT FILE ) go to odin options and check "nand erase all".
flash all files together from odin then do factory reset from stock recovery.
Hopefully this will help.

Thanks man!
Guys how you root n916k
Guys listen I tried almost everything from ODIN(flashing BTU, BGL) stock firmwares downloaded from samfirm and sammobi.
Nothing ever worked.I GOT OEM lock On and FRP lock also(BTWfrom the start they was Off) , but still there is SYSTEM BINARY:Custom in the DOWNLOAD MOD.
When I try to flash CF auto root or TWRP I get CUSTOM BINARY Error.
When I try to flash only stock rom 1st I get DRK error 2nd E: /misc error and when I do reset, restart wipe on stock recovery I get dm-ver error.
I dont know why but I think I should mention it what about SamFirm Binary nature check?
Guys I repeat" I clicked unroot from SUPERSU app"
Tried following ver:
J530FXXU1AQF5
J530FXXU2ARC3
J530FXXU2ARA2
J530FXXU2ARG2
Sorry for the bad language skills I hope you guide me to fix this mistake.

Found sboot.bin that was unlocking my OEM and could put even TWRP on first Odin run.
