Trouble with viewing Twitch livestreams on Android 4.1.2 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I've been trying to view Twitch livestreams but all I'm getting is just a blackscreen and getting the "Can't play this video" error. I can view UStream streams just fine but I always get the error with Twitch streams. I tried installing Flash Player 11.1 to see if that'd fix it but it didn't. I had Android 2.2 ROM a while ago and I was able to view Twitch streams then but when Twitch updated their app I updated my phone to a 4.1 ROM and now's it's not working. Does anyone know a fix?

Had this problem Too ...

Dear friend ... I had such problem and I switched into a sense ROM and it just got solved ( First I tried to play with the apps to find an app to solve it but was useless but once one of my friends told me to switch ROM and it got solved because Sense ROMs have built in Players and their plugins )...I recommend you just to try AndroPlus(+) - Ultimate Or Sense of Eclipse their bests and also it's a waist of time and money to put time on finding a compatible app , plugin , etc. ... Good luck

YOutube vidoes hardly play.

So I have a Hero... and at fist it had bad quality until I found out that the setting could be changed. Now, my problem is that I can only play 1 out of 10 videos I try and play, it sucks... is there anything I can do to fix it and is anyone else having this problem??
yea, alot of videos dont work from the youtube app, even more dont work from youtube via the web browser + going through the browser gives ****ty quality
lets hope htc fix this up in 2.0/2.1 when they release it with the sense ui!

i heard in 2.0 most videos work cause of flash 10?
So I need 2.0?? How do I get it?
Also, is there maybe a differnt app or program that allows me to play youtube videos that isn't the one that comes with the phone? links if any plz.
are you on the stock rom? i'm using modaco's 3.0 and haven't got any problems, either on 3g or wifi.
there might be some media player apps that play streaming videos. on windows mobile, i used to use 'coreplayer' to stream youtube videos, worked well. there's gotta be one or two on android that do this??
btw, where is the setting to change the quality?
android really needs a coreplayer i miss the youtube on that works flawlessly
*EDIT*
maybe i spoke to soon
http://forum.corecodec.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2885
nice!!! android needs this!
yes.. please.. what to do.. to fix this ??
I dont like.. that we have a youtube app.. that is 1/10 working!
any one.. have ideas ??
I think Youtube are using some Flash10 exclusive coding techniques that our beloved Hero can't handle due to the Hero actually don't have a full blown Flash10 support...
This would make sense, except that before I got the hero I had the mytouch and youtube app worked great with little to no problems (I've tried it on both a stock and rooted rom on both hero and mytouch). I'm having a hard time understanding why the hero has problems with it.
I do find that sometime if I go into a task manager and kill youtube and start it again it works for a bit. It seems also that changing the quality of the video causes it to quit working too.
I must be very lucky every single video i tryed to watch worked fine with stock ROM...
Maybe is connection related...or just pure luck
They should work as if I'm not mistake the youtube player links to the mp4 feed, he may need to update his rom to the latest version which plays smoothly.

[Q] Flash player

Hi everybody,
Has anyone try to view flash video on the streak; has anyone issues with it and how did you resolve this? I am on a site which is broadcasting flash videos; my streak is charging them but nothing happens, any ideas? How can I resolve it? Do I have to download something? (I am running the official dell froyo update)
Thanks for answering
It SHOULD play the vids. I've tried iplayer on Wifi and it worked really well indeed (I'm using Steve's custom 2.2 build 1.4.1)
....thinks....ooh yeah - have you downloaded the flash 10.1 player from the market?

good one
Adobe flash player
Yes I did but on some sites it's charging without playing...
hmm. any sites in particular? I'll try them on mine and see what happens (assuming they're respectable of course... )
Its a belgian news site : "rtl info.be"; the video's are charging but not playing.
well I've had a quick look and it's certainly downloading the vids BUT at work I just don't have a fast enough connection - a couple of bars of Edge is the best I get.
I'll try again at home, on Wifi. They seem to be quite big files.....
Ah just noticed - they're mp4 not flash! Hth?

good to know

Can't playback streaming video.

When ever I try to play a video using the BBC Iplayer app, or Website, all i get is flashing blocks of colour like there's a codec problem.
If I Watch a video using the Youtube App it's fine but if I view the same video direct from the Youtube site, using the browser, it's like the BBC site and corrupted.
Anyone had this problem?
I've noticed it happening more over the past week.
I'm running CyanogenMon 7 RC1
Try another Rom like leedroid
I changes to RC1 when it was released, and this problem has only started a week or so ago.
Going to try a factory reset on RC1 see if that makes a difference.
Looks like my Love affair with CyanogenMods is over for now...
Tried RC1 and RC2 they both have the same Video problems.
Tried another ROM that was Sense based and video playback was fine...
Looks like I Gotta look for a new ROM to like...

seems to be a rom issue. had the same problem two weeks ago. the adobe flash app just works on < gb and ics roms, it isn't supported any longer for jb+ roms. try an alternativ youtube player or another rom/build.
i downloaded the youtube app, and it works from there, but still not in the browser,
i guess there are still a pretty high amount of bugs to solve

I have similar problem the video is divided in 3 parts and in black and white
i solved it by reinstall you tube app
youtube on PA 5.1
I'm having a similar problem, but it is not limited to youtube. I have tired plex too, and it also fails to play a video.
When I play a video youtube I just get "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry"
In plex the video fails to play telling me to restart my plex media server and to reboot the phone.
I have rebooted the phone and it makes no difference.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix that? Everything else seems to work properly on this rom so far, and the stock rom is getting more and more laggy which is why I'm trying different roms.
Anybody have any ideas?
**Update**
For some reason a video would start without video at times. When that happens if I change the quality to something lower than 480p, it actually works.
MX player works perfectly regardless of resolution.
Plex is completely broken, it will not work regardless of what I set the video to, it fails.
