So let's hear yours guys and girls
AndDon't flame and troll please
Good idea my story as i sold my ipad1 64 3g and put a small amount of money on the price i gained from selling and bought my tab2 p-5100 from a store near us with decent price no regrets as i had my galaxy s2 before and tried android system in it and found it more open and customized than ios of my sold ipad1

I bought a kindle fire from.best buy.
Returned it
Got an Acer a100 Iconia tab
Returned it
Got my Galaxy Tab the week it came out from the first batch at best buy here. It's good to know someone up there.
I liked the Acer. If the tab2 hadn't been there I'd still have it. Im glad I have what I have. I kinda wish it was a 10 inch. Anyone want to trade? Heh
I had some money from christmas, birthday etc and I wanted some cool android phone/tab which is not a low-end device such as my (orange monte carlo/zte skate(armv6,800mhz,512mb ram)) so i was looking for a good device for a decent price and chosen some products for e.g htc one v,xpera p or s or u,samsung galaxy ace2, but i really like the zte's "huge" screen(4,3") and my hands/fingers are also "not so small" and i didnt wanted a 3,5" or 3,8" then i decided to go with the galaxy tab 2 (p3110) and kept my zte skate(for phone calls and messaging) next day I went to a store and bought it.
bought a iconia a100 returned and bought a galaxy tab 2 7"
Traded a g2x at best buy and got 120 store credit and paid cash for the difference.

I sold my rooted NookColor on eBay for $165. Bought the GT27 from MacMall for $220 shipped on a 1 day special.
Happy with the purchase and the upgrade from the NookColor!
Went out to buy a nexus 7 and the store i went to didn't have any so i saw this ( my SGT2 7) and that was that
Almost had a punch up in the shop with the sales assistant and he was insisting i buy an anti-virus and a case for it. In the end i was rather rude to the guy and left in a bad mood , but once i got home and messed about with the tab i was feeling sweeeet !
Really hate shop assistants ( especially "tech experts")... they never know what the are talking about and just chat crap to get a sale lol.
Saw the Galaxy 2 7 at Best buy. Played with it, missed having a tablet, as I had given my Nook Color to my son. But then they announced Nexus 7
I saved in my birthday fund (gift for myself) for the Nexus 7, ignoring the Tab.
Then they revealed the lack of an SD card for Nexus, so I took another look at Tab.
Love it, no regrets
I'm now looking for 64 GB card, so YES i do need the slot!
I decided I was sick of carying about a bunch of different devices each doing different things and wanted to consolidate everything into one device. After researching tablets for about a week, I decided on on the GTab 2 and ordered it online. Because I live in China, the version I got was without many features available elsewhere (no access to Play for instance due to the Chinese government's disagreements with Google). I couldn't return it, but I didn't want to be stuck with a China-market tablet, so I looked into ways to 'fix' it which led me here. :good:
I was looking for tablet for about 4 weeks and actually decided to wait for the nexus 7 to be available in Germany. The other day I my brother and I were looking for some new PS3 games in an electronics market and I started to play with the tablets they had exhibited as I was concerned 7" are to small.
Long story short: I neither wanted a small 7" devices nor wanted to wait any longer. Quickly checked whether a CM10 nightly was available. Found it, went home to start the downloads and pick up my savings.
And here I am.

Well...I went to the darkside for a while and tried the iPad2.
I got a very good prices from my local dealer so I thought I´d give it a go.
But after playing around(or at least trying to play around) with it for a few days I feelt very limited and didn´t have the options and choices I was looking for.
So I went back to the store and swaped it for my current Tab 2 10.1, and I´m absolutely loving it...freedom and usability as it was meant to be !
I got a BlackBerry Playbook for Xmas for myself, loved the hardware but slowly grew more disapointed,so i rented some living space to a friend for a month, and bought this tab 'cause its the same hardware, just open source (good place to start learning dev'ing, is my other reason)
Saw the Galaxy 2 7.0 at Best Buy played with it and waited to buy the Student Edition, got the bundle yesterday and loving so much!!:victory:
I got mine at best buy.

Just wondering what you all got rid of or traded in to get your n10.
I was just about to pull the trigger on an Asus Infinity but decided to go with the n10.

Didn't have to sell anything.. This will be my first tablet. I just bought the Nexus 10 on Sunday, Hopefully I get it soon with no problems, because many people seem to have issues with it. How is yours?
I sold this (minus the 500GB HDD and 8GB flash drive) for $183; the 500GB HDD for $60, and a 3TB HDD for $130, a Radeon HD 5570 GPU for $50, and some other money from somewhere else (I forget) to buy a Nexus 4 originally, but since I also had enough for a Nexus 10 at the time, and the Nexus 4 was out of stock, and since I realized I couldn't keep up with a monthly phone plan most likely, and that I wanted a bigger screen for gaming purposes, and the Nexus 10 has better specs, I decided to go with the Nexus 10
TLDR: I sold a Nexus 7 + other stuff and decided to get a Nexus 10 with the funds I got
I returned an infinity and waited for this. Soooo much happier with nexus 10.

I sold my iPad 3 to purchase this. Literally sold the iPad for $450 and bought this for $400. And good riddance to that toy. I bought the iPad when it was hands down the best tablet available. Now with the Nexus 10, I feel like the Nexus beats it in every single category. The screen is more beautiful, its thinner, lighter, easier to hold and grip, a more capable OS. It feels more polished and I can't wait to start romming it once the roms start to come out of Alpha/Beta releases Gotta love devs, always making devices more incredible as the months go on.
I've made the jump from an iPad1 and am stunned by the improvements in screen and performance.
Sold my Xoom WiFi 32gb model after getting the Nexus 10 and configuring the homescreens near the same. Sold it to a friend who is replacing his wife's Kindle Fire with the Xoom.
Sold my Acer A500 32GB and got the N10 16GB (don't need the extra storage). Couldn't be happier.
Sold my Gtab 10.1 and got an Infinity (it's crap), returned it for an iPad 3, returned it for a Note 10.1 (nice tablet), and finally returned it for the N10.
BestBuy Premier Silver let me leave a string of open box discounts in my wake since July to get to this tablet. I love it, but have to warranty swap it due to a WiFi issue.

Returned my Note 10.1 for the Infinity. Exchanged the Infinity more than a couple times. Returned the infinity the day the N10 was officially announced.
Didn't sell anything but going to give the gf my iPad 3. Its a nice device for what it is but the whole ios ecosystem is just boring to me. I don't know how people are saying the nexus 10 has a better screen....the iPad can be brighter, represents colors better and has much better viewing angles. Hardware wise that's the only thing I'm going to miss and it's certainly not enough to hold on to it.
sold my n7 didn't want to because it was a great device and fine form factor but couldn't justify having both on my budget with the holidays coming up.
Sold my Nexus 7. Couldn't be happier and I couldn't ever see myself going back to a 7" tablet.
Also sold my N7. Too small for my aging eyes.
Actually I won an Asus Transformer Pad 300 from Android Police, and sold that unopened to get the N10. Right now I'm trying to sell the Acer a500 I was using before my nexus 10 got here.

Hey everyone,
I'm considering to buy a new Phone. My current phone is the HTC Desire, which I use for about 2.5 years now.
Would your recommend buying a Nexus 4 now or is it worth waiting for the X-Phone or the next Nexus device? Some sources claim, that we will see those devices around June, after Google's developer conference. I definitely want a pure Google device.
The thing that is holding me back is that it we are about to allot new gen devices in the near future, with the new iteration of specs. (1080p display, Snapdragon 600 and 800...) So it seems to be a good idea to wait another 3 months or so...
What do you think?
Newer technology is always around the corner, you will wait forever if you always wait for the Next Big Thing. How easy will it be to get one of these as-yet-unreleased phones, and how much will they cost?
The N4 is available right now, at a bargain price, and will be a big step up from your Desire ...

I think that all of those devices will be non nexus, bloated, at the mercy of the Manufacturer devices. And for what? More processing power to view your email? The screens may be nice tho. I don't see why you'd need 1080p on a less then 5in screen tho...
After owning this phone three weeks. I can't see going back to a carrier bloated samsung, HTC, or moto phone.
Look at the galaxy nexus, last year's hardware and it's still one of the smoothest and fastest phones because of pure android. The nexus 4 will hold its value too, it's only 349, don't buy the 8gb. You can always sell on ebay if you don't like it and come out even right now and I have a feeling n4 will keep selling on ebay for close to what you pay from Google. The only issues I have with the n4 is the camera is just not as good in poor lighting as my s3 was, other than that it's great. It's the best deal in Tech. Compared to the desire it's going to be ridiculous.

The right time is now OP. As others have said there is ALWAYS a newer phone with more impressive specs around the corner. With that mindset you will be waiting forever. I realize you dont want to buy the nexus 4 now and a few weeks later the next nexus device is announced. eh "such is life" OP
I'm pretty happy with mine. I'm coming from a Bionic.
I still probably will consider the x phone but this is certainly a solid enough device that I won't feel the need to jump ship the day it is released.

I just got mine on Tuesday (ordered Saturday) to replace my Galaxy Nexus - best decision I've made as the higher DPI alone makes it better IMO
OK, 1080p screens are nice and that but I don't need it as I don't watch films/play games on my phone

Just ordered my Note 8 (3G version).
I've had the iPad mini previously and I've been wondering for a while, what is the ideal tablet/phone combo. I'm presuming that I'm not going to use the Note 8 as a phone very often, so I'm going to be carrying around 2 devices most of the time.
I've currently got a Galaxy S3 which I'm very happy with, but I do wonder if the 2 devices will be too similar. I've considered getting a small, cheap phone to use just for calls and texts and using the tablet for everything else, but I don't have the tablet with me all the time, so I do need something that has a decent browser and a camera.
I'd be keen to hear your thoughts. I'm sure this topic must have been discussed before, but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.
I was just thinking of posting a very similar question.
I'm currently using a blackberry curve 9360. Its an OK companion as I can use it as a mobile hotspot and allow my note 8.0 to access the web through it. I love it as a communications device. Good for calls, strong signal, good battery life, small and the keyboard is great for sms and other messenger services. where it falls down is apps though. There are a few available but nothing seems to work very well.
Im weighing up the convenience of the keyboard to the benefits of useful apps at the moment. If I were to get an android phone, id need to be able to use it as a hotspot, which i think i can do, and it would need to be small enough to fit in my pocket, so about 4 inch screen maximum. There doesnt seem to be any high end devices at that screen size though, Just lite versions of their larger siblings.
My contract isnt due for renewal until december so I have a while to search and contemplate though.

I imported a pantech Vega 6. Mainly for the 1080p screen and 13mp camera. So far its an awesome phone. They've updated it regularly although I didn't think I would be able to living in the US.
Oh and I like the near 6" screen size too

Best phone/tablet combo? Padfone.
I'm using the S4 currently. Not sure there is really any device with a huge advantage when paired with the Note 8. Personally I think just sticking with Android and Samsung between the devices is best. At least this way you can use more of the Samsung share features and of course all your purchased apps on both devices.

so you use a 6 inch phone and an 8 inch tablet? What do you use one for vs the other?

I am happy with the combo and find that almost everywhere I use my Note 8 I have good Wi-Fi.

I use this combo also, note 2 with my note 8. To answer your question, for me it's not so much a matter of designating each device to its own app per say, but more a matter of convenience. Basically, I reach for the 8 whenever I can, even for texting (mighty text), but when it's just quicker/easier, I go with the 2.

i've got the sprint galaxy note 2 and a verizon s4. i kept sprint when i picked up verizon (just before killing unlimited data) b/c i'm on a $50/mo sero plan. i should have gotten the note 2 for verizon also. s4 is nice, but i like the bigger screen on the note 2. maybe i'll get the note3 on verizon as long as they're root & unlock it and then sell my s4. i really should just drop sprint as their service in my area is total crap.
I use a S3 and a S4. I like the phones for all the things they do so well. The Note 8 was a impulse purchase due to AT&T having a bundling promotion when I purchased the S4. It replaces a Tab 2 7" and it far superior in display and I find the S Pen to be a real joy for use with spread sheets, drawing programs and the like.

the 2nd gen nexus 4 is called nexus 5
Reasons : best device at that time with best cpu, best ram etc, at the cheapest price with perfect screen size and res, latest updates and lots of development.
Most of the above reasons are still true
No, the Nexus 4 doesn't have any "generations" so to speak.
But there are a few different revisions. Like Rev 10, 11, 12, 13.
Look here:
celltraderonline.com/showthread.php?4253-Knowing-The-Difference-Nexus-4-REV-10-Vs-Nexus-4-REV-11
But they're all the same phone really, just minor improvements.

I got it two weeks ago because my iPhone broke a month back and I needed a phone that would be cheap. Lo and behold I found mine mint condition for only 240$ on craigslist. Before my iPhone I used an inspire 4g which was pretty good. The hardware on this is pretty good for only 230$. The nexus 5 looked pretty good but seemed to have a lot of launch issues and it didn't have any features I'd need to pay the extra money for. That said I'll probably get a nexus 5 when it becomes cheaper too.
