hi guys I am from India and as we tend to speak Hinglish we generally do not have a inbuilt dictionary in the stock android and have to save each word in the personal dictionary and that is quite exhausting .
Is is possible to port the new Note 3 or S5 keyboard to my Nexus 4 because that would mean that i would get an inbuilt option for hinglish on that .
I use a Nexus 4 rooted device but currently on stock rom.

Have you tried searching for those ports in the Apps and Games forum? It's easy to findported Samsung apps there.
You can use Swiftkey too, it has Hinglish language.
I have been searching for a while now and still haven't found something worth and ya swiftkey does have hinglish but it is not nearly as good as the stock. It lacks smoothness and the new emojis.

Hi,
I saw a demo of the keyboard app on the Sony Ericsson X10 phone and it seems to be pretty nice!
Anyone know if it's possible to extract the app so it can be used in other android devices?
Edit: Added screens
not many of us even have the device yet... so i'm not entirely sure how hard anything will be without root.
secondly i'm not sure this has much to do with android development.. might be better off in the themes and aps section .. being that you are asking about an app?

I agree, the first thing I did was install the HTC keyboard, I miss the left and right arrows however.

So, what do you think of the new firmware overall?? Anything interesting besides the points mentioned in the post. Also, can you please post a screenshot of the new keyboard? I hope they did not remove the static numeric keyboard from the top. I found that very convenient.
Were you able to root it yet??
You change the keyboard layout. I love the floating keyboard. Use few finger to move the keyboard around the screen. Later I try to post a screen shot. Static numeric still on top.

You can select Systemlanguage or two or more other languages, then Swipe between...

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I am having a hard time finding anything about it (which I am confused by as well!)
I just upgraded from a samsung captivate (original ) and one of the features I liked about that phone was that in the dialer I could start typing in the first few numbers of someones number or the first few letters of someone's name and their number would auto fill in and I could just click it and call.
I know it is probably not nexus 4 specific, but 4.+ in general, but is there any way to get this feature back? Am I just missing something obvious, why in the world would they get rid of this?
T9 dialer?

My guess is that, that specific feature is called T9-dialer and I'm missing that too. I level'd up from ZTE Blade running CM10 to my brand spankin new N4 yesterday and yes, I want that feature back... Or... what the heck, Im going to root, unlock and flah CM 10.1 within the next 22h anyways )))
The T9 dialer is not included in AOSP. It's honestly the main reason I rooted. There is a T9 dialer apk floating around, but it only works on deodexed ROMs. Most ROMs inthe dev section have T9.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757280
Remember, deodexed only.

Ah thanks, seems strange google would leave out what seems like such an obvious feature.
I am using exDialer now and it works perfectly so far, so if anyone else is interested (and doesn't want to run a custom rom) I highly recommend it.

ex-Dialer is the best replacement. With an ICS theme, it even looks like the stock dialer.

Not rooting a nexus seems to be about like buying a Lamborghini and running 87 in it. That's just my opinion, though.

Ehh. I bought it mainly because I like the stock experience. I've played around with a lot of roms and I'm a little tired of having little issues here and there. Right now the phone runs blazingly fast, and apart from not having the t-9 dialer installed (which it now does and works great) I have no current issues, nor any desire to play around.
Heres the T9 dialer mod. Make sure you're on a deodexed ROM before flashing it.
T9 Dialer MOD for nexus 4
It is there to some extent, you just have to hit search on the dialer screen.
Seems a pointless step to me like.

This was posted on the nexus 4 themes and apps forum and is proven to be compatible with 4.2 without issues.
Maybe the dialer in your link works fine as well but since it was from an old post on the gnex forums, I thought I'd add this just in case there were any compatibility issues.
Perhaps its the exact same mod though, I have no idea if there's any real difference.

With the Google Keyboard from the Play Store, you can add a row at the top for numbers. When you go into settings, you can choose the PC layout under Layout settings or style (something like that). Just an FYI: it won't be exactly the same as the stock Samsung keyboard. The keys get a little cramped, but it works.
Is that the link to the 4.3 Samsung S4 Keyboard above?
I tried many Note ux ported keyboard apps, but none of them work on my stock MM, is there anyone that know how can i get note 7 keyboard?
I can't find it too.
But I've tried the S7 from this one and it's working well
