We know that sammobile provides all the firmwares, but those are not always resumable and generally break...
So found a small trick to create resumable links for download...
It's not a trick, just a feature of UC Browser to provide free online storage...
Steps:
1. Install UC Browser and sign in or register for UC ID.
2. Log in to UDisk to get started with free storage.
3. Go to Sammobile and click on the firmware download button.
4. When download popup comes, click on 'Cloud Download' in UC Browser and save the file in Permanent or Temporary Storage
NOTE: Permanent Storage is 2GB, and Temporary is 4GB. Temporary storage deletes file after 7 days, until you renew the file before 7 days.
5. Go to UDisk to download from UC Browser, or use link below to download from PC with IDM or any other downloader support.
Requirements:
1. UC Browser
2. UC Disk link for desktop
UDisk takes approx 10-30 mins to download the firmware to its server, after which it can be downloaded by you. Check UDisk download status in Cloud Download in UDisk.
Tested on:
sammobile
mediafire
hotfile
google drive
dropbox
and many others...
P.S. This is not a new method... Only for those who struggle to download huge firmware files or even other files from Sharing Websites which do not support RESUME...
Clarification : I am not connected to UC in any form, neither am i endorsing its use... Just sharing a method i found to save my limited data connection and get resumable links for uninterrupted downloading even if connection gets cut due to power failure...
great idea! +1
it's just a gimmick to download the crappy unneccessary UC Browser. it's only marketing trick, forget this thread and UC products

I am in no way connected to UC... I had failed download of 4.3 firmware 2 times at 97% and 99% and hence i was desperate to find out a resumable link myself... this i found to be working so shared...
Thanks for sharing. Dl speed for sammobil is horrible

I am using Opera Mobile 9.405 on an HTC Touch with the TCPMP player and this is a method that I have found to download .FLV videos. I know there is a PIE option using FlashVideoBundle, but if you want to use Opera or the other method does not work for you with PIE try this out. This method also works for downloading to desktop computers
Step 1. Go to www.youtube.com and pick a video that you would like to download
Step 2. In the address bar change to word “youtube” to “voobys” for example if the address bars says http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq7Ji8hiMRM you will change it to http://www.voobys.com/watch?v=nq7Ji8hiMRM then hit refresh to follow the new link.
Step 3. Click the DOWNLOAD button
Step 4. You MUST add the extension .flv to the end of the file name you are saving it as, for example get_video.flv
Step 5. When the download is complete click open the file and watch it through TCPMP
Please let me know if it works for different websites and different versions of Opera. I am a N00B so I won’t be much help if it doesn’t work for you. Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in.

Has anyone been able to turn off the mobile view in any browser? I have tried Opra and Dolphin disabling the mobile view in both and it still brings them up. In the stock browser there is no option to turn mobile view off.
I got it to work using dolphin by clearing cache, data, cookies, and history in both stock and dolphin browser. The opened dolphin browser and hit menu>settings>user agent then just selected desktop. I think the key was clearing everything first.
it simply does not work on any of the browsers. Even if you clear all cache and cookies.
I have tried BBC iPlayer and The Sun in the UK. You can get the full homepage if you clear all data but as soon as you click a story or link you are taken back to the mobile site.
This is an absolute JOKE! I bought this to do full websites. Even my HTC Desire 2.2 views full sites. Obviously Samsung have messed around with the browser so much that they have screwed it up. Fancy selling a tablet that can only view mobile sites!
Oh I forgot to add...you can type about:useragent in to the browser and switch to desktop but it makes no difference at all.
Hi mate,
I had this issue until I flashed a different FW..
As soon as I flashed an tested this out it works no more mobile sites for me.
All you need to do is flash FW JK1
Make sure you back your data up.
I've read some guides but they seem to suggest removing battery. Is there any easier way of doing this? I'm not prepared to open it. If I don't get full sites working soon, then I'm just taking mine back. Don't see the point in having it as my Desire does a better job at the moment.
As I said Gareth you dont need to open it..
Just re-flash it

I have been playing around for awhile now and it hasn't shown a mobile view since clearing everything out. I haven't checked the sites your referring to but on espn and cbs sports are all the full versions even after clicking on stories.

Ah ok. Do you know of any links/tutorials for me to do this. I searched on here earlier but the one i found suggested taking the tab apart, so maybe I was looking at the wrong info.
Yes - Here is the link to everything you need. Theres also a tutorial of how to flash using Odin at the bottom of the page (This is what I used)
You will need to register to gain access to this part of the site.
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
First thing you will need to do is download a few things from the page.
We need -
P1000XWJK1 ## P1.PIT Version 2.2 2010 November (Located in the Europe section at the bottom)
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and look for -
NEW Odin: DOWNLOAD Version 1.7
Once you have all the files in a folder on your desktop. Open up the Odin folder and extract and you will see 2 files Odin and a PIT file.
Open up Odin and look to the right load up the PIT file that was included in the folder.
You then need to extract the .tar file from P1000XWJK1 that you downloaded. Once you have extracted it go back to Odin and load the .tar file in to the PDA section an tick the box.
Now that were ready to flash you must prepare the tab -
You will need to take both sim card and SD card out before we do this.
Once both have been removed turn the device off. Now power back on holding Volume down + home key.
You should now be in download mode - This is a black and yellow screen with an Android bot stood in a triangle digging. Once you are at this stage you are ready to flash.
Double check that the only options checked are -
Auto Reboot
F. Reset Time
PDA
Once you are happy hit the start button. You should now see Odin doing its thing and also the tab will show a progress bar. Once flashed you can check if the flash was successful by checking with *#1234#
As always
Remember to back up anything important that is stored on the phones memory as this may be lost during the flashing process.
Hope this helps
thanks mklass.
I followed your instructions and everthing is now working fine. I had to switch the useragent to Desktop but it now stays in Desktop mode and I'm able to view things like the full BBC iPlayer.
Thanks again.
I have been able to to view all pages in mobile and "full web experience" using dolphine, skyfire, default and opera mobile. Some times i have to diable mobile view on a per-site basis (like wikipedia). But aslong as i have cookies on they keep loading normaly.
Ps: the speed of opera is just mindblowing to me!

You may not see any advantage now, however, as more and more developers get a hold of this device they will start launching custom ROM's that speed up and improve the performance plus add more features to the device like we've seen on the Galaxy S devices.
Glad I could help you guys out.
As for the reason for flashing -
Quite a few people including myself were unable to view 'full' websites and kept be re-directed to the mobile version of the site. Even when the UA String is set to desktop mode in any browser the Tab would still still load up the mobile site. I heard that some people had this issue and others didn't.
I'd say that unless you have this issue there's not really any need to flash just yet.
ah i see.. ty for the answers guys
opera Mini right?

No, opera mobile. It was released less than a month ago. I recomend it strongly! You can find it in the marketplace.
The only thing it is missing is the google search integration wich gives "the google instant" experience.
If i need to view flash videos outside of youtube i use skyfire since it has a optimizing feature for flash videos. Rest of the time i use operamobile. It makes the browsing, scrolling, zooming and loading comparable to the ipad, if not bether.
I used to browse on a n900. Compared to this device with opera, what a joke the n900 is.
So if anybody is worried abot slugish browser on the tab (wich is true for the default browser); know that opera mobile more than fixes that problem.

I have no problems unless it's certain filehosts. Filesonic doesn't work for me, but megashare, megaupload do. Direct links always work.
Use firefox, firefox beta or even opera browsers. They will all let you download practically anything. Even from sites like filesonic or whatever else you can throw at them. It appears that the stock browser, dolphin, and a few others are based on a certain type of tech that limits these types of capabilities.
Most of you guys do not find a problem in resuming downloads from goo.im and androidfilehost.com.(AFH)
I wrote this thread for those who have problem in resuming ROM downloads because of expired links. I have found many people asking for mirror in development thread discussion forum, esp. in CM11. For the developer, it is highly impossible to mirror copy of every nightlies/updates released.
So this is for those who have trouble in resuming.
While downloading from AFH, we get a choice to select from 4 or 5 mirrors, select mirrors, which are not hosted by AFH.
USING IDM
1. Download IDM.
2. Using IDM, the download link can be refreshed reloading the download url from webpage again.
3. Using IDM may be a menace, because you may have to refresh the download links for a few couple of times if you have a slower connection. And also, IDM is trial for 30-days and then you have to pay.
USING UC BROWSER with UC CLOUD {The Best Way}
1. Download UC Browser and install.
2. Open UC Browser and copy the download page of the ROM.
3. Click download and wait for the download prompt.
4. When prompted select Cloud-Download.
5. Browser will redirect to UC Cloud, you may be asked to Sign Up, you can skip this if you prefer to start the download soon. But if you prefer to download via PC, its essential to Sign Up.
6. You will get 4GB+ free space in UC Cloud. (2GB Permanent + 4GB Temp).
7. You can select MY Files or Temp-File Station to save your download. It may take few minutes to get the file downloaded to UC CLoud depending on the file size.
8. Cross check the file size in the AFH/goo.im servers with UC Cloud (just to make sure) after successful caching.
9. Now you can download it straight via UC Browser by clicking download.
10. If you prefer to download it via PC, Go to http://cloud.ucweb.com/ Sign In and click Download.
11. Downloads will continue flawlessly without any errors.
Done!! :good:
Haven't had any issues downloading from either sites. I've a sponsor account at goo.im and AFH doesn't give me much trouble.

You may be right brodah!! But for people with low speeds, its usual that the download links get expired. Even ihave faced it when i pause download for say, 30 min. When i resume, the download link gets expired, also i don't do any sign in/up in AFH. Just direct download. Also I have seen many people keep asking repeatedly for mirrors in CM11 thread as they face issues like download stuck at certain percentage.

Hi @ all ,
I ask the question becasue unable to find the answer ..
i just need to change the download location of my browser (chrome or adblock) to external sd card .
But cannot find any information about this .
Can someone help me ???
if no usual option existing , my phone is rooted .
Thanks a lot .
I don't think you really can.
Even if you are using the same browser as on your PC, on a phone you have limited functionality.
However, you can manually move the downloaded files on your SD card (it sounds stupid, but I can't actually think of anything else).

Thanks for taking the time to answer . The issue is that the file i'm downloading are too big for my internal SD . that why i need to have them downloaded directly to my ext sd.
I can't believe there is no way to do this...but thanks for the effort !

If possible for you to download Samsung Internet it's easy!
Start internet>settings>advanced> and save content to sd card ... or use the usb-c to usb adapter that came with the phone and use external HDD.
Seems not possible in chrome now.

maybe a stupid question, but why dont you install any kind of download manager from the play store? This way, every time you download something you get asked where you want to save the file. And this would work in any browser

And I have yet another stupid question. Why don't you download that file from your PC and then copy it on your SD card, which you can later insert it in your phone. Or use G drive (or Dropbox) app to download it and access it on your phone.

Or you use a browser with an integrated download manager like dolphin. I think opera is also asking where to save downloaded files.

Because i m using 4 g networks to download , and i have no pc with me when i m on journey ( i use 4 g network when i am in big cities to download huge files when i got good networks , usually virtual machine for my work , then i use them at home on my pc to work, so i do the exact inverted process cause of poor adsl connection compare to 4G).
Bu tthanks to all got now lots of solutions :
Use opera mini
Use samsung internet
Use a download manager.
Thanks XDA !
It's not possible to control the download location of chrome on android as far as I know, but you could try using an app like Advanced Download Manager. It has it's own browser that allows full control over downloads and uses the SD card as the default download location.
