Galaxy S4 Mini international LTE(GT-I9195) and 3G(GT-I9190) official CM11 snapshots bug reports & discussion.
This thread is to discuss any issues you may have or bug reports to raise regarding the CM11 snapshot AND stable versions for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini international LTE variant (GT-I9195) and the international 3G variant (GT-I9190) (see notes section if you have some other variant).
Opened this thread to keep the release thread clean for development-related discussions only.
** DO NOT USE THE JIRA BUG TRACKER TO REPORT BUGS FOR NIGHTLIES!
Reporting to JIRA is allowed for M / SNAPSHOT rom versions. Guidelines on how to report stuff there.
READ THIS WHOLE FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING ON THIS THREAD TO AVOID ANGRY ANSWERS OR GETTING YOUR QUESTIONS/PROBLEMS IGNORED! IT'S THIS LONG FOR VERY GOOD REASON.

Notes
I'm not the developer for these roms, nor do I work for Cyanogenmod, I just maintain this thread as a hobby. Please don't PM or spam me to answer your questions.
This thread is ONLY for the CM11 nightlies discussion, there are other threads in the general and Q/A forums to answer questions about everything else than CM11 nightlies. (Example how to root s4mini is not related to this thread.)
Arco68 is the maintainer/developer in charge of maintaining/developing CM for our phones. He isn't in charge of developing everything on CM, for example trebuchet or other feature development.
F4k is the most active mod-developer for our phones, but he doesn't work for Cyanogenmod either.
Please note that the CM11 isn't anymore in it's early stages, but still everything is not a bug, a lot hasn't been merged yet. So expect missing features. The missing features will come in due time. First RC should come on this year 2014, no other specific eta for it, useless to ask for eta on this matter.
1st rule of flashing custom roms etc.: No wipe - No whine.
2nd rule of flashing custom roms etc.: Always backup before flashing/updating.
3rd rule of flashing custom roms etc.: Google search and xda search are your friends when encountering problems.
How to act on xda forums. Also answers the question "why I only get angry answers when I ask questions?".

[GUIDE] How to install CM11, quick/small guide thread.
When upgrading between different CM versions(cm10.1/10.2/11), you still need to flash the gapps module after upgrading as /system is wiped and it's pretty much necessary to do a full wipe when upgrading to CM11.
Gapps are Google Apps for Android. The reason why you need to flash them separately from the rom.
Notes about updating to latest stock FW before flashing custom ROMs
Flashing CM11(or any custom rom based on CM?) may break your NFC on the stock rom if you sometime want to go back to it. The thread about this problem, there may be some fix for it in that thread and discussion of this problem should be done there. (Dirty) fix for NFC on stock.
M / Snapshot / monthly releases are basically nightlies from specific time, but they shouln't have any major problems like bootlooping etc. More info about M-releases.
ClockworkMod(cwm) is the official Cyanogenmod recovery. Latest version 6.0.4.8.
The ROM comes with a Superuser app. You don't need to install another one.
CM doesn't come with a IR Remote app, IR blaster support may be TV/device specific.
Screenshot is Vol-Down + Home in CM.
To install games/apps to external SD, you currently need some app/mod like FolderMount. Not sure how link2sd works, but it might help on this too. See this guide.
Whisper Push aka TextSecure is in short, encrypted messaging. It requires data connection in order to work for now. More info here and here.
Our device doesn't have LED like many phones do, so there's an another notification light implemented called BLN. (Sprint variant of s4mini has LED, but this variant isn't supported and these roms aren't for that variant)
Button Lights Notification (BLN) kernel support by junkyde was implemented to the official CM tree by arco68, so you now only need the BLN app(free or pro). Using task killers, adblock plus or other apps like Clean Master may cause BLN not to work. If you BLN doesn't work do the steps in this post.
Trebuchet launcher replaced Launcher3.
This rom doesn't support Holo.
If you use themes, be sure that they are up to date with CM11 changes.(When installing themes which appear to be improperly compiled, apply the default system theme and reboot and try again. Some themes maybe haven't been updated to kitkat standards.)
If you want to help with translations on CM, check their translation site (?was transifex before not sure now?).
[*] These roms and this thread are only for the international models: GT-I9195 serranoltexx and GT-I9190 serrano3gxx. A comment from the rom developer about other variants. It's advised to post your full baseband from about phone settings before flashing anything.
Other S4 Mini variants like GT-I9192, Sprint(JDQ39.L520 or SPH-L520), SHV-E370K, SGH-I257M, GT-I9195T and GT-I9197 aren't officially supported and using these roms on wrong variant may brick your device, but if you want to root them etc. search other threads from these S4 Mini forums for guides.
Using ART instead of dalvik may cause FCs in apps etc. ART can also cause bootloops on some nightlies, example 20140222 and 20140226, check latest posts for future nightlies. (Generally ART should work just fine with the latest gapps and generally with all apps, but it needs support from app's side too.) Dalvik is still the official solution, supported and considered safe. Using ART may require more space from internal/external SD. Check for app ART combability here.
Xposed is not supported here (neither are any other mods), issues related to it aren't nightly problems. Xposed only works with dalvik.
If you are experiencing battery drainage, please check what's draining it with BetterBatteryStats or Wakelock Detector and the current issues below before posting about it. More info about wakelocks.
For those who experience battery drainage from wifi, check this post out.
You can't change settings for core1 permanently. Whatever setting you choose, core1 will always be restored to its driver defaults - interactive at any speed. Saving battery while core 1 is not needed is the point. It's a Qualcomm design.
CAF = Code Aurora Forum - A division of Qualcomm doing the source code for their hardware.
Quick Panel: Expanded desktop toggle doesn't show up if you haven't enabled Expanded desktop from the interface settings.
Quick Panel: Profile toggle doesn't show up if you haven't enabled profiles from the settings.
Three dots on apps is a new design preference from Google. More info.
You can request features/mods in this thread, but if you want something to be implemented into official CM tree, this is not the right place for that. Personally I suggest you to find Cyanogenmod official forum request section(if there even is one.. found this though). Some devs like F4k are usually interested in development of mods, so they might do them. But remember: Spamming them(devs) about requests doesn't get your mods done, on the contrary it might even get your requests to be ignored.

Few useful apps and other stuff
Google Experience launcher download link.
Minimal gapps package version 20140227, minimal gapps package only includes the basic google stuff like Play, but no maps, hangouts etc. But it's still recommended to use the package which cyanogenmod wants you to use. Example PAgapps have been reported to cause issues.)
Different modems. Ask about the benefits and other stuff in it's thread and not here.
For making nandroid backups without booting to recovery, check this app (also has pro version). The app's xda thread. (If it doesn't work, update your recovery and root+busybox to the latest and try changing the shell as mentioned in the app.)
[*] (I might add more useful apps to this list if people tell about them, but I won't keep them up to date as in if you use them you are in charge of updating them. And this thread is not about their problems.)
-------------------------
Before reporting a bug
Check the issues in this post and last 1-2 pages of the thread, so you can just quote and confirm a bug reported by another (or just use thanks button for this).
If it isn't a known bug already, post it using the bug report template. Ask if someone else can reproduce it.
If nobody can reproduce it, then you should do a full wipe(make a backup in cwm before it), don't restore/install anything else(this includes custom kernels/apps/settings etc.) than what is needed for trying to reproduce the bug in a clean install. Or just do this step before even reporting it.
If the bug is still there then, you can just restore your phone back to the state before wiping.
It would also help greatly to provide logs (in

blocks), in an organized manner.
Only report issues occurring on the latest Snapshot.
Preferably don't report bugs if aren't using the default performance settings(no oc, interactive governor, i/o row etc.), default kernel(no f4k/bln/mods/customs etc.), default launcher(trebuchet) and no app freezing/greenifying/xposed/scripts etc. Or at least test without them before reporting.
Bug report template:
1. What is the bug/issue?
2. How does it occur(reproducing steps, 3rd party devices/apps, provide full device model names)?
3. How long it has been an issue (example nightly version)?
4. Are you using any mods, kernels, task killers, hibernating apps etc.?
5. Which cache do you use, dalvik or ART?
6. Does it happen when using mobile data, WiFi or both?
7. What have you tried to do to fix it?
8. Provide screenshot from About phone settings.
9. Logs.
10. Additional info.
Example answers:
1. BT doesn't work.
2. I switch on BT, scan for devices, but nothing shows up.
3. Since xxxxxx-nightly. / Since I did this or that.
4. No. / Yes, but I have tried without them. / Yes, this and that.
5. Dalvik. / ART, but I have tried with dalvik. / ART. / (Default=dalvik).
6. Only on mobile data. / Only on WiFi. / On both. / Without them/airplane mode.
7. I have tried with 5 different BT devices from different manufacturer and full wiped, but nothing helps.
8. "Screenshot".
9. "Logs".
10. Some additional info.
You can also report and confirm problems at google doc for this thread. I'll gradually move them here from there.

Reset data/factory reset (also wipes cache)
Advanced->Wipe dalvik cache
Mounts and storage->format \system
Install zip from sdcard etc. to flash rom & gapps.

Umm, cm roms aren't meant to be flashed via odin. You should only use odin to flash custom recovery, in this case clockworkmod and with it you flash the cm rom. Other recoveries aren't suggested either, since they may cause issues themselves too.
Also it's recommended use these gapps http://itvends.com/gapps/gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip instead of anything else, example PAgapps have some issues with some use-cases.
No issues = ok to use anything you like. Issues = test with the right stuff.
Good, thanks!
I just did a dirty flash, I know that it's not the best way to do.
Phone booted well, but there are several problems.
I can make phone calls, but not receive.
The quick tiles are not there andI can't activate them.
I''ll go back to last nightly and follow this thread.

Same as me. Full wipe, last nightly
I just updated from 10.2.
Full wipe.
It works great, so far.
I updated through the system/about settings from latest stable 10.2 and so far anything works like before.only thing a noticed is that I can't change lockscreen's wallpaper. changes simply don't apply. minor thing though, but anyone else has it?

I have the exact same issue. No-one can call me, the quick drawer/tiles are not there anymore and I have tried everything. Home button doesn't do anything, lock screen only appears on boot, then after first unlock does not come back.

How do you do a full wipe exactly? Do you have a guide?
I ask because I have had problems before trying to get cm11 nightlies to flash using odin. None of the files I come across can be used with Odin.

Make a wipe data and choose clean to install a new rom
Afterwards flash CM11 M6 and PA Google Apps
Reboot
Enjoy!

If u update direct from Nighlty to M without wipe user/data - will this problem occur.
General for all:
FIRST do a wipe data/user BEFORE you install the M version - otherwise you will get a corrupt CM version
There are difference between Nightly and M edition
Yeah,
That's why I couldn't restore normally yesterday.
Restore failed.
Then full wipe, flash old nightly, flash gapps, reboot, OK. Restored my backup.
I'll wait a few time before flashing this rom again.

M-releases and Snapshots are NOT upgrades to NIGHTLIES! Nightlies are always newer and more up to date than M-releases or Snapshots! "Upgrading" to snapshot from nightly can cause any number of problems.
Use the Snapshot thread to talk about Snapshots and M-releases!
Xposed is not supported here in this thread, neither are any other mods/kernels, issues related them it aren't nightly problems. (Xposed only works with dalvik.)
So if something doesn't work for you that others claim working, full wipe, don't install any kernels/mods/xposed/etc. and just test thing that wasn't working. If still it doesn't work for you, do tell here!
Also some people remove some files from the rom before flashing, if you do this don't report anything here before you full wipe and test flashing the rom without removing the files.
So basically only report stuff here if you are using pure/vanilla/original/stock CM11.
CM11 nightlies are nearing the end and new nightlies of CM12 will start dropping around December. CM has pretty much feature freezed CM11 branch. More info here and here.
I'm not going to maintain CM12 nightlies thread and soon this thread becomes obsolute too. I thank you all for the great work on reporting problems and helping others in this thread, what a year we had with cm11 nightlies.

[*] Regarding the issues and missing stuff on trebuchet: You can access launcher settings by pressing menu on homescreen or long pressing homeescreen. They will come eventually, you can use 3rd party launchers for additional features.

For making nandroid backups without booting to recovery, check this app (also has pro version). The app's xda thread. (If it doesn't work, update your recovery and root+busybox to the latest and try changing the shell as mentioned in the app.)

Before reporting a bug
Only report issues occurring on the latest nightly.
[*] Reporting bugs on this thread is for the purpose that other users know, NOTHING reported in this thread automatically goes to Cyanogenmod.
To report issues or missing features to Cyanogenmod, use JIRA bug tracker. Reporting to JIRA is only allowed from M/snapshot releases, so flash snapshot release with full wipe before reporting issues there.
JIRA issue reporting guidelines.
-------------------------
LIST OF ISSUES / MISSING FEATURES
Unverified
- Few people are reporting higher battery drain than before/few nightlies ago. Might be related to mobile data switching 3g-4g or kernel stuff.
- Few people are reporting that WiFi does not stay on while sleeping, even when the setting is set as "Always".
- Few people are reporting that sound problems when listening to music with speaker/headset/bluetooth.
Verified & Reproduced
- Plug in headphones that doesn't have a mic, try to record a voice message in any app, example whatsapp -> app freezes/crashes.
- If you make backups with cwm, the date is wrong. But if you for example use Onlinen nandroid backup app, the date is right.
- BetterBatteryStats/BBS doesn't install as system app. Temporary fixes.
Fixed / In coming build
- S-View Flip cover support is still in the works, currently it shows the most important information.
- Few people (4) are reporting that they get force closes for: com.qualcomm.timeservice even after full wipe. <- Was an ART issue.
Unable to reproduce / Unique to certain users / Unable to fix / Unverified / Kernel issue
-------------------------

I think we should combine this thread for both the I9190 and I9195, as they are so similar. Pretty much everything applies to both models, so reporting the same things in two threads doesn't really make sense.

Okays, I edited the first posts and topic so it should be good for both variants.
Edit: now all links should be working.
I installed CM11 on my Nexus 7, and while works brilliantly well (far better than the "first milestone" tag would suggest), the non-removable Google search bar really annoys me. Not CM's fault, but I'll be glad when they provide a way to remove it. Until that happens I think I'll stick with CM10.2 on my GS4 mini, it's doing everything I want it to.
Change log points to 10.2.

Everything's working fine here so far, even camera. Small bugs here and there, but mostly UI related.
And I HATE the new AOSP keyboard layout... Lucky to be on droid, replacement on the way!
Yes same problem here useless for me to install it now.

Cannot save pics to SD card
SInce updating I cannot save pics to sd card. Even when using non stock camera. Also to delete files on SD card had to give root permission to ES file explorer otherwise was giving an error.
Anyone having issues with widgets on different rows/columns settings? I cannot seem to be able to resize them. Also I got no idea how to add more homescreens. And why are there 2 launchers?
Edit: The picture taken with front camera shows up sideways for a little while when taking picture or when reviewing it before submitting in whatsapp.

I've the same problem, (but only with some apps(if settings didn't chance after flashing))?! So, I wasn't sure if its really rom related, but i cannot do backups with TitaniumBackup on sdcard, fails with "Permission denied (EACCESS)" even if the default filemanager says all the permissions are the same, also on internal storage (read, write, execute for user (root?) and group (sdcard)). But when i use the default filemanager i can add stuff the the sdcard.
So maybe its not rom related at all, just some missing settings for some apps?!
My card is NTFS formatted btw, ..

I use the "Launcher3", the other one was even more spartan. It dynamically adds new screens for me and removes empty ones. Just try to add a widget, then you can scroll to the left.

Well personally I downloaded the cm11 nightly via cmupdater and then got the new gapps from acro's thread (can be found in the first post on this thread too), rebooted to recovery and just flashed them over the latest cm10.2 nightly. After that wiped caches and rebooted, all working fine.

FAQ and Know issues:
device speaker is low
Probam samsung kernel support boeffla sound engine , so you can install it from this link and enable speaker tunning
when probam in black turn on , the systemui make force close
try to switch off black ui then restart and try enable it again
after dirty flash the device hangs and systemui make force close
you need to make wipe all and clean cache and make fresh install in this case
when try video recoding the device freeze or slow down
screen video record with ondemand or pegasusq governors u will have a laggy recorded video. If you try with performance governor from performance in settings , then the video will be a lot smoother.
Camera crashing some times and not works anymore "camera not connected"
the rom included an small application "camera restart" you can use it for fix this issue
titanium recovery not restore my applications
For those who cannot find their previous files, because CM based rom will target the sdcard storage to use root/0/ directory.
So normally all the files besides the root/0/ directory will not be shown on the file explorer.
To solve this, you will need a file browser that has ROOT capability, eg. Root Explorer
then go to mnt/shell/emulated/ all your file should be here.
Now move all the files into mnt/shell/emulated/0/ folder.
Should solve the problem.
Privacy guard IS working?
after enabling privacy guard in security settings
you have to switch to settings>apps and then choose to enable or disable each app individually.
I'm sure nobody would want to tick every single app, that would almost be the same as enabling airplane mode.
I want PIE!
Here is the alternative PIE

Erm, Goo.im is fast?
I am able to download it in 5 minutes with 500 Kb/s
Just to be perfectly clear on install... I am running the latest TWRP for the Find5.
Do I need the update recovery tool that's linked? Do I need to pull the kernel out of the zip and install that first... or, as with all other ROM's (other than ColorOS), can I just install the zip?
TIA

If it failes make sure you have the latest recovery, I used TWRP modded by maxwen it went without issues. About the kernel, I have no idea either, but I suppose it means you must not use random picked kernels
The install instructions, IMHO, are a bit confusing.
The first line has a link to a tool that says it's required, yet the tool is only for installing TWRP or CWM as recovery. My assumption is, if you already have the latest TWRP installed, this tool is then not required.
I 'think' by selecting the kernel, it's actually selecting the zip for the ROM? Kernel's, from what I recall, aren't / can't be installed from recovery anyway... rather these are installed via fastboot. I may be mistaken, but I think all that needs to be done is making sure you have the latest version of TWRP, and that you wipe then install the zip.
/EDIT- Okay, I stand corrected on Kernels... I guess all ROMs include a kernel, and those are patched when the ROM is laid down... still, with no link to a kernel, I would guess one is included and therefore no kernel work needs to be done.
Until now...everything is good...except..i had to flash modem 4.1 normal stuff.. the camera doesnt work..a detected small bugs.. not a big deal..except the camera
:S

I couldn't find a thread dedicated to this, so..... As well all know, CM has turned on the builds for the Samsung Galaxy S5 variants and builds have been churning out for the past few weeks. However, they are still weeks behind @albinoman887's unofficial builds, missing various fixes and what have you. So this is a thread for those of you who wish to try out the official nightlies and want to post bugs or feedback without cluttering the unofficial's thread. If you want to help get things going smoothly, contact Ethan Chen (https://twitter.com/intervigil) and ask him to push Matt's (albinoman887) changes through. [*] Wipe data and cache.
[*] Flash cm-12*.zip.
[*] Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM-12.0 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
[*] Reboot phone.
for now on CM12 nightly works best with Ktoonsez kernel http://goo.gl/LgBsuk
thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777842
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM-12.0 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM-12.0 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Change that red text to "WARNING! This ROM is for the SM-G900* Snapdragon variants only! This will not work on the octa-core or Exynos versions."
I might also want to add that it is said that it is best to use the official Gapps from here, but the PA Gapps have worked fine for me.
I have contacted Ethan Chen and he said that he just hasn't had time to look at the S5 lately. Sounds a bit promising.
My results on the 1/28 nightly with ktoonsez' 1/25 kernel build:
* Bluetooth pretty much set, occasional minor hiccups on my car audio but otherwise great.
* Bluetooth does still occasionally completely crap itself and stop audio playback after a long period of time (>5 hours). If this happens, a reboot is required, and trying to turn bluetooth off and back on results in an FC in Bluetooth Share.
* Camera is still crashing when taking low-light photos.
Haven't encountered any other issues so far.
Edit: OP mentioned TWRP recovery; I'm using philz touch with no issues.
On 900i (kltedv) doesn't work NFC !
The 1/30 nightly has issues with the Recents menu - it seems that the majority of the time, trying to activate it from within an app silently fails. It does work from the home screen, though.

Confirmed
The issue with the recents menu in the 1/30 nightly is resolved in 1/31.
I'm testing 1/31 with ktoonsez 1/9 aosp kernel (last one with Samsung sources) for my Bluetooth issues.

12-20150201-NIGHTLY-klte
Just flashed the latest nightly coming from touchwiz stock on my NZ SM-G900I.
Issue 1: NFC won't turn on, just stays grayed out when you press it.
Issue 2: WiFi connects no problem to 2.4 and 5GHz networks, but it is so ridiculously slow. Maxing 100Kb/s download, and 40Kb/s upload, but the average is a lot slower. Reboot hasn't changed the speed at all, so I'm thinking it's a radio issue. It also takes a long time to connect to any cellular network after reboots.
Issue 3: (not so much an issue) but it now shows my device model as SM-G900F in settings, but it is definitely a SM-G900I model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 7 (Nougat)?
A: Yes, this is Android 7.1.2
Q: What code is Oct-N based on?
A: This version of Oct-N is based on LineageOS 14.1
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But all the others have..
A: ROM developers, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-N.
Q: What about root?
A: Root is removed by default (user will be able to flash which ever root zip they want)
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favorite Open Gapps package http://opengapps.org
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
The Oct-N ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your Gapps Provider. When dirty flashing weekly updates, you MUST reflash Gapps along with any other files, apps, custom mods or kernels etc.. (anything that resides in system partition)
Flash ROM, GApps and any additional .ZIP files
Reboot

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 6 (Marshmallow)?
A: Yes
Q: What code is Oct-M based on?
A: Starting with Oct-M, we've rebased OctOs on Aosp code.
Q: What happened to CM?
A: Octos was originally formed as an AOSP source rom. We have returned to those roots.
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it

Rom is great for now.. all basic things works .. that is for now xD
Trying this rom for a few hours, I observed the followings:
The rom is smooth and rather fast.
Almost everything works properly.
Xposed works on this rom without any problem.
Battery life is reasonable.
Thank you so much, aniket.lamba.:good:
@aniket.lamba hi bro, I have a query.
But before that thanks a ton for the wonderful work you have done with this ROM  Your Metallium ROM was my favorite LP ROM and I used it as my daily driver from the time it got released and never had to look at any other ROM after that as it was rock stable and super fast
Now for the query, was going through a post by John Cannon Jr on TeamOct G+ community where he mentioned that for non-nexus devices CM will be the base going forward. So for cancro-marshmallow will you continue the AOSP base or will change the base to CM in future? Asking this as there are lot of CM based ROMs available for cancro-marshmallow but not many AOSP based.
Cheers

"might shift", does that mean it is CM based right now. The FAQ question and the 'based on' posted on the op shows AOSP atleast.

For the initial stage it is CM based, this build which I've posted is an initial build (considering it still has issues) so we chose CM base as we draw more support of non-nexus devices,we'll shift the base to AOSP.I'll change the thread title so the users won't have a problem figuring out.

Is it only me or the ROM doesn't support extended partition?
I tried flashing twice, but after installing GAPPS. Xposed doesn't get installed due to no space.
Also the maximum CPU frequency doesn't change at all

Apparently you're not on extended partition. Your system is only 660mb instead of 1.2gb which means you're on stock partition. Did u flash MIUI recently? It might've reverted your partition to stock.

That's not the case. Some ROMs work at stock even though you are on extended partition. Though I knew it's not my phone I still anyways re flashed extended partition ZIP leading in same result.
BTW installing MIUI or any other ROM via recovery doesn't make you loose ur extended partition.

If you've flashed the extended partition and it's still in 660mb means that you've failed. I know only flashing miui through fastboot gets you to stock partition. The point is you're on stock partition.

Nope. I'm on extended partition since months. You haven't come across that kind of ROMs I mentioned it looks like. And I can't remember the exact name of few ROMs which had that issue right now.
And for the record after that ROM I installed CM12.1 without installing any repartition ZIPs and I had a 1.2G system size.

I too faced the same issue and with other ROMs too. There is an easy fix. If you are using twrp, go to Wipe->advanced Wipe Select "System" and click "repair or Change File system" below. Then Select "Resize". The issue will now be fixed.
If you are flashing ROM and Gapps, do the above step after flashing ROM before installing the Gapps.
Is this rom cm based or aosp based?
INTRODUCTION
This rom is just a revival work based on the awesome rom from @Schischu in this thread. @Schischu managed to port aosp 6.0 to the galaxy tab S family before samsung ever annouced it, then reiterated the exploit by porting aosp 7.0 to it. Unfortunatly he kind of paused/stopped the job without further notice. So i have revived and will maintain this rom until he eventually decide to take back the project.
I have been downloading roms on xda for various phones since my first htc tytn smart phone almost 10 years ago and one thing that really bother me is that one never know if the job will be stopped or when a new release will be out. So while i consider that this is pure fun and the devs have no obligations to the end users, i will keep this rom alive by applying the monthly patch from Goggle (Around the 10th of each month). The only reason that i could stop doing so is that my galaxy Tab S is lost/stolen or eating by the kids (bet on that one ), if so i will notify it here. I can only really test on the T805 too btw, don't have the other variants.

I am not using gapps so i can't really test it. however i can post the latest confirmed version based on post/pms
LATEST WORKING VERSION : 2016-11-16 (with GApps 2016-Nov-17)
OTA - UPGRADES
I do not plan to maintain OTA. and i will even disable the options in an upcoming release.
However it would be great if someone could maintain an ota branch & OpenDelta server each time a new rom is published.
If you are interested contact me in PM to setup the procedures together.
You can always manually upgrades from twrp (zip or sideload), just clean cache & dalvik after each upgrades and always reinstall Supersu (and gapps)
PREREQUISITES

TIPS'n'TRICKS
MTP mount are sometimes (each time for me under linux) not browsable after plugging the tablet. As workaround going to Developer options -> Select Usb Configuration and re-choosing MTP, remount it correctly
If 5Ghz Wifi does not work , you need to change the region in Settings->Wifi->Settings->Wifi country code
Hearthstone and serveral other Unity games: Enable 4x MSAA in development options else it won't work
Slither.io and a few other games don't run if 4x MSAA is enabled: Disabled 4x MSAA in development options else it won't work
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to the new permissions-system in M.

Thanks dude! I have a T800 and was really hoping we'd see more action on the Nougat ROM. I am going to dirty flash this over Schischu's ROM and let you know how it goes.
Dirty flashed over @Schischu's previous build. Booted with no problems. Can confirm these issues (which existed already on the old build):
Stock camera app works, but crashes when recording video. A Better Camera app crashes.
NBC/Universal video apps (SyFy now, for instance) will play commercials, but not the selected video.
Screen still glitches when changing orientation.
Wow I can't remember the last time I posted a thank you on the very first page of a new ROM thread.
I too have been here since before Android but my first smartphone was a device with a physical keyboard. Then my first android phone was the famous HTC Dream, then I replaced that with the first Nexus phone and the Vibrant as well.
Thanks for giving us something to play with and hopefully use as a daily.

Nice catch. I added the stock camera / video one to the list after testing . I ll check it but i have a fixable todo list for at least 1 - 2 weeks
Did it worked on aosp6 ? If yes i may have an idea of the actual issue.

You know I remember my brother got the tytn around the same time I got the first android or abouts. Kinda hard to remember now but I'm sure he had the tytn. I think it was spelled like this TyTN and it ran windows mobile. I had one but I remember it being broken I think. Was a great concept too.
The Vibrant (same as the Galaxy S) was the first device that I actually waited for the t-mobile store to open up lol. It was the first device that really got me hooked on flashing custom anything.
For the most part I have been quite disappointed with this tablet of mine. Just not enough development for it. My 2012 Nexus 7 has better Roms which is really sad because the potential of this tablet is crazy good I think. purenexus on my N7 runs so much better than anything I have tried on this T700. Really really sad.
I hope someday we see 7.1 for this device. Lol

A Better Camera app and stock camera app both worked perfectly on AOSP 6.
Video apps worked fine too. There was speculation that there was a problem with the video drivers that affected 1080p playback in the YouTube app and such, and that was also the problem with the NBC/Universal apps.
First thanks you this ROM is really good! I have attached screenshot of the bug when we change the display size to bigger, the icon in the header isn't centered
And it's just a question but isn't the recent app (in landscape and I'm t800) too small? I mean it's shouldn't be larger ? It's looking a bit like marshmallow(screenshot too)
Thanks a lot :highfive:

I tested some 1080 videos with webtube (fdroid) and all worked perfectly. Do you know one that fail for sure ?

Haha the max large is a bit too big but this is really not the most important issue :good:
And I think I have a screen of pixel c: I'll sent to you in a few minutes but in landscape it's much larger and looks a bit better
Screenshots of pixel c recent menu
Really appreciate your time mate.
But, i will stay with AOSP 6.0 until 7.1 come out for Tab S family
Cheers and Goodluck.

Those who experience a really slow charge and heavy drain,
Probably because the wifi scanning is turn on, and also ''ok google'' sound activation is activited in any screen.

I try all the display size and it's still the same layout but I think it's a tiny thing to change (don't know if it's possible )
Great Rom, Night Light by Braden Farmer works to get auto red filter.
Also I had some security warnings when re-installing some apps from Titanium. Like Anti-Malware warnings on Windows. Must be new security measures.
My first experiences with "malosasha's" ROM
My first experiences with "malosasha's" ROM:
To install the ROM, I followed your instructions and was surprised that everything worked out
I just installed SuperSU (SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip) bevor the gapps.
Deadlights said:
If it helps anyone, I had the problem with gapps failing when flashing. And found that flashing SuperSU after the ROM and before the gapps fixed it for me. Tried several times and worked the same each way.

Then I istalled MyBackup from the ext SD and installed my secured apps.
Reboot and till now everything is working without any error.
I never had this bevor it was always a bit tricky to install a new ROM and the Gapps - Congratilations !!!
I am very glad that the development of our tab continues - Thanks a lot for your work !!!
Regards Klaus
I just tried IR and it works, I can power up/down my TV with the tablet.
Edit: can't have a GPS fix. Won't try in high accuracy mode.
