I'm sure if you buy the official local version from your country it should support the band you require.

No. You need a TD-LTE variant (SM-G9008V) .
All this info is in Google... Top 3-4 pages...

finally I found SM-G9008V in Samsung.com china..
but in tech spec they said
4G LTE TD-LTE 1,900 MHz / 2,300 MHz / 2,500 MHz / 2,600 MHz
in the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and international roaming only for FDD LTE 1,800 MHz / 2,600 MHz
is that means its not going to work here in Saudi in td-lte???

The 1800/2600 will only work if you have a sim issued from china, and when you roam into other countries, all the other frequencies will work normal.
you have to select one or the other.

Hi every one,I'm about to buy the samsung galaxy s4 google edition, but my question is : Will it work with my italian carrier?,i'm a bit afraid to spend over700$ for a phone that i won't either be able to use,so I thought to post here this thread waiting for someone to answer my question.
What makes me think is that this phone work with the same network band of my actually phone.
The specs are the same as the I9505 so if your carrier band can work on the I9505, it can work for the Google edition.

This is slightly misleading.
While the I9505 and I9505G are extremely similar, they differ in which LTE bands they support.
The I9505 supports LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600
Whereas the I9505G supports LTE 700 / 850 / AWS / 1900
Italian LTE runs on 800, 1800, or 2600 depending on the carrier.
TL;DR Yes, the Google Edition will work in Italy, but only at 3G speeds (LTE IS NOT SUPPORTED)

hello all-
has XDA (or any other site) released a hardware list for the regional S5 models with the differences in hardware and especially LTE band support?
It's pretty frustrating in 2014 that Samsung *still* appears to be forcing regional divisions on its customers; especially when the Nexus 5 has already proven that support for many different regional frequency bands can be included in a single device.
There's no reason for it whatsoever except to inflict artificial restrictions on where customers can buy, and where they can use a phone. If I buy a phone outright I expect to be able to use it anywhere. If I travel, why should my original carrier dictate who I can get coverage from?

Try to get the S5 Google Play edition. Google Play edition smartphones and tablets are carrier unlocked and unbranded. Instead of having a massive Verizon 4G LTE logo, or a phone that only works on AT&T bands, buying from the Play Store you’ll receive a completely untethered smartphone. The Galaxy S4 Google edition works on AT&T, T-Mobile, and around the world. There’s no contract required, and you can use it on a variety of carriers in the US, and abroad. So, I think, the S5 will work the same or better.

That sounds reasonable and logical, but is that really the case? What were the hardware specs of the S4 GP edition? Wasn't it just an unbranded SGH-1337- which then has no LTE support on T-Mobile or anywhere outside North America?
What I'm looking for is a device that is universal around the world, or around the country (US/Canada/Europe/Asia). I want a phone that (like the the N5) for example won't be kneecapped to HSPA or vanilla GSM when I travel to Europe, Japan, China or Hong Kong; or if I switch carriers within Canada. The N5 claims to support over half a dozen LTE bands, ensuring it can find one supported in essentially every region. Samsung still appears to be trying to artificially partition markets by radio and other features, much like many electronics manufacturers do with artificial trade barriers like region-encoding on DVDs, Blu-Rays or video games.

You should really read the specs of the phone before posting wrong information.
S4 GE won't support LTE abroad. LTE will only work on AT&T and T-mobile.
S5 GE is not yet even announced.

There is no such phone.
N5 of North American edition doesn't work on LTE in Europe. Neither N5 of European edition works on LTE in the US.
NA and EU LTE bands are different.
Ugh
I'm not going to get any carrier renewal benefit, so I'm just going to have to pay full freight for this phone. So since I'm paying full price, I might as well get the best phone. I want a 32GB version (have the 32gb s4), that does LTE in NA. I'd rather not get an AT&T phone (locked bootloader crap that has forced me to get repairs on my own dime on my phone so I don't get a locked version from the mothership).
Sounds like the GP version is best, then I can slap it on At&T network, any other ideas? The Rogers S4s seems to have so many issues with ROM upgrades and such... So painful!

sorry to revive this, but i want to clarify.
if i buy the 900f, european version, will i get LTE data in canada on the Rogers network? i believe rogers uses the same bands as At&T...
i been seeing different things posted on the internet which has me very confused....
it seems like the supported LTE bands are similar between the european version and the at&t version..with the exception of two bands...
any expert can chime in on this please? thanks..

It would have been better if you started a new thread.
To answer your question, the 900F shares most of the LTE bands that Rogers uses. So assuming that your 900F is provisioned for Rogers LTE.. yes you will get Rogers LTE data. The 900F does not support Rogers LTE bands B4/17 (or 3G B4), but they are not much used yet, so you shouldn't incur any gaps in coverage.
In the future you may miss B17 more as it is new and uncongested spectrum that just rolled out in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto. And being a low frequency is particularly good at penetrating into buildings. But for the moment, you'll be good.
.
What about Samsung GALAXY S5 4G mobile dual sim customized version G9008W, will it work with the European 3G networks?

My G9008W work perfectly in France with LTE with band 1800 and 2600
But it seem that it has no B20 (800Mhz), but i am not sure ...
It work also in 3G (900 and 2100) and 2G, of course
Just ont think: unlike the Galaxy S4 Duo, it is not dual active, only one sim in communication at a time ...

I was recently told by a senior member of this forum that all snapdragon LTE support the same bands, and the bands are activated based on the sim card inserted.
is this true?
i went on samsung's website to compare the g900f and the canadian version of the s5, the supported bands listed are different.
i'm contemplating on buying the g900f, european version but i'm concerned with not being able to get on the 4g network here in Canada with the euro variant.
thanks for any input.

On the chipset side of things there's only one difference: Exynos (G900H) and Snapdragon (the rest of models).
All Exynos carry an Intel baseband (of dubious power efficiency IMHO)
The modem as you mentioned and the carrier variants are responsible for the multitude of Snapdragon variants.

Nope, I think. The baseband must be different I would assume, they support different bands.
Just a little sample of what I mean:
3G Network:
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - SM-G900H (Exynos, no 4G)
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - SM-G900F

HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - SM-G900T
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - SM-G900V, SM-G900P (CDMA)
4G Network
LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - SM-G900F

LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - SM-G900A
LTE 700/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 - SM-G900T
LTE 700 MHz Class 13 / 1700 / 2100 - SM-G900V (CDMA)
LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - SM-G900R4 (CDMA)

Hi! I have a similar question. I bought a GS5 (G900F Version, imported from Asia), In my country (Chile) it works on 4G LTE 2,6GHz, but the lower band of 4G is 700MHz, which apparently is not supported by this model (it supports 800MHz).
The official model here is the G900M, so my question is if I can flash the "modem.bin" from a G900M to my G900F, with Odin, but without rooting my device (to avoid Knox tripping or Imei problems)? Is it possible? or I simply waste my money?
Sorry for my bad english...
Thanks for your help!!!

No it wont work on many accounts, basically you cant flash a different CSC firmware etc to an alternate CSC device unless you change the CSC of that device or root(and of course the lte modem may not be supported). (an app called Phone INFO is available on Play Store to check, use at your own risk). That doesnt mean it is impossible, however, it is highly unlikely. I hope that cleared things up
Hi
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...s&ie=UTF8&qid=1411428914&sr=1-3&keywords=1700
Will this S5 work with wind/mobilicity in Canada? Its has the 1700/2100 frequency but it is listed under LTE. Now wind/mobilicity have 4g not LTE. But it is on 1700/2100.
So will it work with these sim cards?
Thanks!

Donate because I want to thank for what?
Anyway, as to your question about using a phone on Wind or Mobilicity, you neglected to tell us what model it was. Rather essential information that. I'm not interested in following random links when you could have easily posted what the phone model was.
Wind Canada uses the sm-g900w8 model on AWS. If you want to try using another variant model, you have to check if it supports the same frequency bands or not. Have a look on Samsung's web site for the other model and find out.

lol really?
Anyways it is this model: Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100; LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600
Now this supports 1700/2100 which is used by wind/mobilicity but they dont have LTE. Will it work?

Hi all,
I've been scouring the web for information that can confirm that any of the Note 4 Exynos variants support the 800 MHz (Band 20) on 4G LTE. From what I've gathered, it seems to be only LTE 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600. Which sucks big time..
The reason is because I have Vodafone 4G in the UK, which runs only on 800 MHz. So, does anyone know of a Note 4 Exynos version (which country?) that supports 800 MHz (Band 20) on 4G LTE?
Appreciate any help!
Im interested in this as well

I think Samsung have purposely screwed us on this
Why the hell not to include the 800 MHz band, it is the most standard of all.
A site I was looking at the other day had the 800 mhz box ticked on 4g. I assume that means it works if that's what we're on about. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff. The site is eglobalcentral.co.uk if you want to look. Look for the note 4 and click specifications (I'm too much of a scrub to be allowed links ^^. Not sure how accurate that is or if it's what you were after.

You are definitely right about that. They do have it ticked. The question now is, who to trust, eglobalcentral.co.uk or samsung.com? Haha
It could be something that eglobalcentral.co.uk overlooked, I'll email them to double check.
Thanks for the link!
I think N910C support LTE on 800MHz.
I'm wondering about this as well as I have Vodafone 4G.
N910C has been said a lot of times to support 800MHz band
