Everyone knows that if you enable your flash while taking pictures on your M8, you will not be able to apply the Duo effect on those pictures.
So if your flash is off when taking pictures, use a gesture to activate the flash.
Venom rom can map the flash to the volume buttons so that when you in landscape with the screen off, press and hold the volume button
to turn on the camera and flash together!
In this way, the pictures you take with the 'flash' on can be edited using the Duo effect!
That's awesome just tried it and worked like a boss thank u mate

Any samples?

The reason it is off when using flash is because of reflections. The second camera is constantly capturing data to calculate depth. A sudden reflection will effect the data so the effects can be much poorer

My flash led fluctuates when I take a photo or use it as a flashlight. Anyone else facing the same issue?
Sent from my R800i using XDA Premium App
Not for me...tried both camera and flashlight.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
Yeah I experience this also when I'm recording video while the flash is on.. But it works well when I'm using this on my flashlight app..
I've had the issue before.... I thought I was seeing things cuz of the quick flickerings
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.
Yes I have it too.
I haven't taken any videos with flash but the flashlight does it, sometimes it's steady but I notice it half of the time.
Gosh. Too many problems. I wouldn't have spend this much for a defective phone. I'm disappointed.
Sent from my R800i using XDA Premium App
Every LED flash does this. There's nothing wrong.
I think you didn't understand. It flickers while using the flashlight or while it's in use. I know that while taking a photo it will flash once for autofocus. I'm not referring to that.

Well clearly, thats not normal. Return it....
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
It is normal. The LED flash for every phone I've used does the exact same thing, jittering and flickering a little bit when keeping the flash on like when using it as a flashlight. My X10 did the same thing, but it's only slight flickering, nothing major. 100% normal, they aren't meant to be kept on for any large amount of time.
Mine does the same thing if I leave the flashlight on for more than 30 seconds
Sent from my R800
Hahah mine does the same thing but I suppose it was never supposed to be a flashlight.
I was thinking it was something to do with the quick succession flash it is supposed to deliver normally.
Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to make an app/rom that would air view let "replace" the screen. That would be kinda cool and really handy in some cases.
I couldn't find any thread about something similar to this, if there is, delete this one
So, are there more people that are interested in this ?

Great idea. Maybe a toggle to activate and deactivate this function would also be quite useful
Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 usando Tapatalk 4
Yeah, haha, that would be nice. I think i would be kinda powerful to use your phone without touching the screen
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Would it have much accuracy though? I mean I already sometimes will press the wrong button when typing, or have difficulty selecting text etc... I'm sure air view will have much worse accuracy which would just make it a big headache to try get anything done.
Just wondering if any one else has experienced this problem where occasionally black lines appear across the screen on the camera? Seems like a battery problem to me.. any ideas?
*You can see it the most just after I take a picture

Watch it again maybe it was hard to see if you're viewing the video from a phone because of the orientation on YouTube

Compare these 2 screenshots taken with a half a second gap in between( look at the edges of the screen)
Only seems to do it on the Samsung camera app, I downloaded jb camera from playstore and no problems there but the camera sucks in comparison

That looks remarkably like Interlacing. Using a US model, by any chance?
It's probably just the software re-rendering the live view.

It's the European model I bought it within the UK no one else seems to be having the same problem, it totally ruins video capturing as it shows on the videos :/

And it doesn't happen on other camera apps? That's peculiar.
Have you tried emptying the data and cache of the camera app? Cleared the phone cache? Factory reset?

All of the above, plus do you have any pending software updates available to you? Does it do it everywhere you go? I thought I had a problem with my N2 camera once, but it was actually the florescent lighting in the room.

Omg i just cleared the data/cache in applications manager and then started the camera up again and it's perfect no sign of any more black lines /flickering!
Don't understand how but it worked thanks!

I see the lines in the original video! Can I ask what did you use to take that video of the screen? I'm still waiting on the AT&T version, but as soon as it gets in, I'll be looking for that issue as well. The Camera app is probably the most important to me.

ah right, yeah i tried that dont see much of a difference, would the camera MOD help?
It would depend on which Mod. I always suggest making a Nanroid and then try flashing several Camera mods till you find on what works to your liking.

The camera is rather annoying on this device.
Camera MODs will improve the camera; It focuses faster, removes the "lag" in the viewfinder and massively improves the AI mode. Unfortunately, the "painted" effect is still there when you zoom in but it does make a noticeable difference.
Shame, because the camera is the only thing letting this device down.
Here's the mod that I applied - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548974
I couldn't get any of the files to work but the dev recently posted this test version which worked for me - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48688463&postcount=703
Hello, I ask if any developer can create twiks or mod to record in slow motion, as is the case for the Galaxy Note 3. Thank you for your hard work
guys but there is no developer who is able to do this mod? from the community would be greatly appreciated ... thanks
Why?
There are many slow motion camera apps in the play store or simply record in 60 fps and convert it to 24 fps.
If you want more you can use after effects of twixtor (or many other apps) to interpolate frames on your pc but that's a too big task for a phone.
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
perhaps I have not explained well, I require a mod for lg g2 can record in slow motion as it happens for other devices (Samsung Galaxy Note 3, etc..) that mount the snapdragon processor. I do not need the post-production of the movie, but a real camera in slowmotion. I think playing on Build.propr and profiles CameraMedia, it manages to achieve what most users want. thanks

Yessss!!!!
Essentially, he's looking for a camera than can shoot 120fps.
I was wondering the same thing myself. It seems as if the camera/processor are both capable of such a thing, but there's no software support yet.
At least I don't think so.
I'm pretty sure jisnu was working on this mod. I think he said something about 4.4 having a proper software for 120 fps.
