I'm getting everything around for my car install next week but have a little issue.
When I plug in my joycon its recognized as a physical keyboard on the tablet which disables the virtual keyboard that I need to type in an address on navigation.
I know if you go into input settings you can turn off physical keyboard but I have to do this every time the car is turned on. (when a keyboard is connected)
Is there a script that I can enter that will turn off physical keyboard or maybe even an app?
I'v already done a ton of searching and have come up empty handed so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Here's a logocat of when I plug the joycon in and the virtual keyboard is disabled.

Then when I disable the physical keyboard this is the logcat.
Hopefully this is somewhat helpful.

Have you fixed this yet? I currently have Tasker bring up the keyboard dialog 10 seconds after it detects my JoyCon so I can turn it off. Easier than going into the settings menu each time
No I haven't, I just set input setting to pop up via certain apps then just turn off physical keyboard.
My new problem is that I'm using external keyboard helper app to make shortcuts to open apps, but the switch doesn't work with that keyboard since he didn't add a virtual keyboard. I talked to the developer and he said that add a virtual keyboard is on his to do list but is not a high priority.

(1) Getting a Working 3G Connection using any 3G modem stick & the brilliant PPPWidget app by JOSUA DIETZE.
(2) ADONIT JOT precision stylus test-driving.
----------------------------------------------------------------
- First: Connect your tab with a 3G USB Modem Stick ~ a success story! ROOT REQUIRED
- Prerequisites :
1) a working 3G USB Modem stick.
2) an OTG Cable.
3) PPPWidget android app:
can be downloaded for free from here .
- Procedure:
* simply download the PPPWidget from play store and attach the modem through the OTG cable,
* due to some limitations on samsung firmwares, we need to download custom drivers to make the USB port connect and read our modem correctly...
as declared here, there are different drivers for different tabs and kernels, so to simplify this procedure, just check your android version :
--- JellyBean, with any kernel ---
download drivers from here,.
--- Other android versions ---
Just go there and try to find your own version & kernel number.
after downloading the correct relative binaries, move them to this path: /SDCard/pppwidget/lib
* If you got everything right, you should see the PPPWidget with "Disconnect" message, just tap (Connect) and voila! you are online....

- Second: Adonit JOT Classic -- Cheap Precise Stylus --- Quick Review
Adonit JOT styluses are very promising alternatives for capacitive screens to get the precision of S-Pen for drawing and note-taking. being a ballpoint tipped stylus, you can just write with it like you're writing with real pen & paper!
JOT Classic Test-Drive
I bought a jot-classic stylus (for a16$) and tested it,
actually I found it hard to write with in the beginning, but after some practice I now write with it flawlessly...

----------------------------------------------------------------
so that's all I got here, hope you like my first topic, and thanks for reading
Do the drivers for the PPPwidget that you suggest work with the GT-P5113 as well?
Thanks in advance,
Rich
Yes, if you have JellyBean they should work
So, do I need a 3G data plan from a carrier for this to work?
Sure, You'll need a data plan for the (USB Modem stick) to work

For example Dead Trigger 2 support gamepads and keyboards You must find games which support it
USB3 is downwards compatible with USB2. That is not the issue. (The left, smaller side of a USB3 plug is the 3.0 part, the rest is just USB2.)
Most games do not support external keyboards. I ran into this issue on my TF700 all the time, it was a full package where the keyboard was a full part of the tablet, but still the games do not recognise them. You also can't use a mouse as you would on a PCgame, you still need to click and drag to look around.
Problem is the app devs, not the keyboard or the tab.
The phone suffered water damage and it's all green, I believe the digitizer is now broken for the whole 80% of the bottom screen or so because I can't enter a password or anything. I can pull down the quick menu and turn on the light, but after swiping from the middle of the screen to top then pressing the flashlight location, it still toggles.
What I need most are the contacts, though some messages, images, and app data would be nice.
The phone SHOULD have been in developer mode, but a program I used to try mirroring the screen said to enable it. No root.
Apps I've tried:
Smart Switch
ApowerMirror
SideSync
Vysor
FonePaw
Also tried looking into simply using HDMI/ MHL, looks like S7 is the one phone from Samsung that doesn't support it. There might be some wires that allow it but I haven't found any.
It's on 8.0 Oreo, don't know the exact version.
Any help is appreciated!
Hi, you can do one trick with OEM otg adapter which you got on samsung package wich looks like this:
https://www.shopsmartuk.com/wp-cont...E-UG930-GH96-09728A-www.shopsmartuk.com-3.jpg
and with usb mouse.
So what you are trying here is to blind enable usb debugging option. If you can see something on the screen it is good because with the mouse you can control your device.
Example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70-W240rcPc
If you are not sure where is your settings you can search on the internet for your device and version where it is located. Goof luck.

Thanks for this! I've tried using the mouse to swipe up so the phone would unlock so I could just connect the phone to the PC and navigate through screenshots.
I've also unlocked the phone through Samsung's cloud website, can't see if it worked and backup takes forever and does nothing for some reason. No luck, and thanks for the quick reply btw.
Still looking for some suggestions

First,it's necessary to check if your lost data has been overwritten. If not.find a Samsung data recovery to recover it,such as Mobi Kin Doctor.

Thanks for the program, tried it but I can't get past the authorization with no control over the screen. I'm pretty sure all the data is in tact though
Anything I can do with ADB?
