new phone[off topic] - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

hi guyz
i am planning of buying a new phone .After exploring some of them i came across these 2 wonderful devices
-->Motorola Moto G dual sim
-->Micromax Canvas Turbo
well to those who dont know much about micromax it is a indian based phone manufacturer.
Please do read the hardware specs ogf both. You will find that canvas turbo has much better specs.
i want some opinoins which one should i buy..

buy the one that meets your needs - only you will know that
I find threads that are opinion based not very helpful - Only you will know what is "best" for you
You will find many reviews on google from people who have actually got/used the phone so coming here to ask questions from people who have probably never used either is kinda pointless

Go to phone arena or any similar website and compare between the phones
However, I recommend Nexus 5

Would you still buy or recommend a new Samsung Product?

Maybe official ICS doesn't have any superbrick problems (as they said "we can't reproduce the bug") or may be it has. Many of the users in this forum wants to use rooted custom ROMs without any problems and this is huge community so I believe that Samsung should provide an official solution for kernel problems to stop bricking issues. Its not that easy to say "we can't do anything about that". Many of us buy more than one phone and we change them within a year. People around us asks us which phone to buy. Would you still buy or recommend people to buy Samsung phones if they don't release an official solution for bricking issues?
I want to send the results to Samsung after a while (I know many of you will say Samsung doesn't care about it. I already know it. But they should understand if they dont care about us than we dont care about them we CAN buy other brands thats so simple)
Because of this issue i am leaning towards recommending one x. If anyone here can prove this happens on a non modified device and they do not release the fix i will recommend htc or lg to anyone who asks

I believe there is no need problem to occur in a non modified device. Samsung should not ignore the whole community. This is a huge community with full of "flashaholics"!. If they ignore us than we buy HTC devices and flash ROMs aaalllll day long
Guys, you have to realize something. We are a teeny-tiny slice of phone users. Most people don't flash anything, they just use their phones. The issue is a leaked release that was never meant to be a production kernel that got out into our community and was used - Samsung has no responsibility here, those who flashed their phones are responsible. I hate to be the bearer of such news, but that is the case. You flash at your own risk. It's horribly upsetting that some have ended up with hard bricks - but that's the nature of flashing unofficial kernels on our phones.
Keep this thread nice and it stays open, I've got my eye on it.
I don't like Samsung but I got N7000 because of 5.3" screen.
I'd buy HTC because I think the finishing in HTC better than Sam and because of HTC sense is best UI in Android devices.

Yes, I would recommend Samsung products.
I deepl hated the Galaxy S1 for it's GPS issue and generall laginess, the GPS and the touch sensibilty of the Nexus S were still flawed, and I also got very angry about the lack of communication and updates of Samsung. Honestly, I promised to myself to never ever buy one of their products again.
But they seem to be capable of learning; since the GS2 Samsung delivered extremely good products compared with the competition. I never had a problem (bricks etc.) when flashing roms (I am aware that this might be just a matter of luck, just sharing my personal opinion here), and the GS2, Note, and now GS3 are really stunning and at their time best-in-class devices. (No fanboy here, really tried them all, HTC, Motorola, and in a desperate moment even LG)

I would recommend a samsung device
the s2-gnote or s3
for the reason the exynos cpu is a monster on performance
im a dedicated android emulator beta tester
official beta tester for N64oid (original nintendo 64 emu on android) and regular tester for FPSE ( Playstation 1 emu for android)
on both emu i get fantastic fps count with my gnote n7000 - compared to
htc devices like desire hd-sensation-evo 3d.
havent tested the htc one x yet.
so if you a emulator user. samsung exynos cpu is the way forward.
Can't really complain about Samsung. Ok, Galaxy S2 quality was a bit...poor. I mean everything plastic makes the phone look and feel cheap - but hey, it was good after all. The galaxy Note ? I'd call that superior build quality, and since i had never experienced any display issues etc - can't complain here either.
What about other products? Laser printer, flat screen TV and computer display - all made by samsung, never had any troubles with them.
So yes, i'd recommend and buy another product. I know Samsung is not the best quality available, but they give you nice product for reasonable price - and you'll always end up with poor quality if you select the cheapets available option, no matter which company made it.

Xperia z or zl or gs4 or htc M7??

Im due due for and upgrade on verizon on feburary 2 what should be my next phone??

Why make such posts I wonder... You should make em or in the android section itself or google the specs and compare. You know the answer you'll be getting here already

Never buy HTC Android
Reasons.
1. You would be giving Apple money
2. HTC sucks
3. They want to get rid of custom roms by shutting down websites
4. They never listen to consumers.
5. Did I say HTC sucks yet?
I go with m7 if you don't mind the lack of a MicroSD slot.
Well personally if you like custom roms HTC is a bit of a pain. Havn't had a Samsung since the first galaxy.
The question is a little moot at the moment since we don't know what to fully expect from the s4 or m7 yet but the xperia z and zl look the be very nice phones.
for hacking/modding,sony and htc(i personally like htc, sense >timescape or whatever) are best.just avoid samsung

[Q] Top phones!!! Read!

If this question isn't in the right thread please redirect!!!
Obviously I'm a noob. I just need a few people to help me find the perfect phone. Between these 4:
Lg Optimus G pro
Sony Xperia Z
Samsung Galaxy S4
HTC One
I have T-Mobile or else I would have a rather larger amount of options.
I'm more of a media type person, but I use my phone to browse the web, shop online, listen to music, and Use Google Now to get directions and such
The reason why I put my question in the Nexus 4 thread is because I HAVE A NEXUS 4. I would like to know if I should just keep it or buy one of those phones above! Please help!
I'm biased towards Nexus devices :good::highfive:

There is an entire section for this: Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
And no one is going to pick a phone for you.. Just because you proclaim yourself a noob isn't stopping you from doing your own research.
They are all the same.

So you would be buying these phone off-contract? Or are they subsidized? I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with the new T-Mobile.

I have already done my research. I just want you to tell me the best 3 . the reason why I am asking is because I can't figure out the best one for the price.
Sony, LG, HTC (best to worst in that order). Seriously, don't go with Samsung.

Too much hate on the Samsungs. In my opinion get the Galaxy Note II or wait for the Note III. If not get the Galaxy SIV. The features included in it are amazing and also if they are all going AOSP then what does it matter. New TouchWiz is great. Also are you looking at the Samsung Galaxy SIV GTI9505 or GTI9500
It will be very biased here.
I say Samsung Galaxy SIV is first choice, then HTC One tied with Xperia Z. Both were great phones.
I havent tried the LG but they never update their phones. But its you call at the end

If I had money to throw away I will go for the HTC one. I am assuming you have really high income to be considering moving from a nexus 4 to get any of those.
Just watch this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3uFFNNBhMc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
(HTC one is ~= SGS4 in performance)
Nexus 4 is a TOP phone performance wise...
So the question is: is it worth spending ~600$ for build quality, better screen, better speakers and better camera?
It's not for me.

What features? You mean gimmicks.. Most people who buy the S4 just want to showoff and don't really use their phones features.and how can you say touch wiz is great its froyo-ish and lags all the time with the S4 and eats up to much space on the S4 storage

Here's my super biased opinion.
HTC One (because i've tried one yesterday, pretty good quality and it flies!)
Sony Xperia Z (because I used to love sony. Tried the phone, not much of a difference compared to the N4)
LG Optimus G Pro (because well.. We're using LG now aren't we? Not sure how their non-aosp devices would stand tho.)
Samsung Galaxy S4 (because it lags like a grand mother and i hate samsung for adding galaxy to the galaxy nexus and for their ****ty build quality.)

Where is the BEST of all - NEXUS 4. Its not in your Top phones list.

Because I already have it. I've even rooted it with cm10 , xenonhd(currently) and paranoidandroid 3.15. Its kind of boring. Maybe because last year I used to switch from different tablets and such. Literally have had 9. Im just trying to find a phone that won't get boring. Its really difficult

If nexus 4 is a boring smartphone, I'm Santa Claus.
If you try to learn something here on xda instead of change devices it's better. No one want to be a noob for ever.

Choose a phone based upon what you will use it for. Games, internet, movies, texting and calls? A smaller device might be suitable for you if you only plan on using it for texting/calls or a device like the s4 for movies/gaming.
The nexus 4 is a great device, decent screen size, amazing performance... even on stock.
your list doesn't even have nexus listed in it. I wonder why you posted this question here!
I'd say stick with the Nexus but if you're adamant about switching then
1. HTC One - unrivalled build quality, great performance, Sense is actually quite nice here, overall a great phone
2. GS4 - awful build quality and fugly TouchWiz but lots of development on XDA and outstanding hardware specs
3. Xperia Z - decent specs and great build quality/feel in hand (not to mention waterproof) but poor viewing angles on the display and if you're going to dish out money on a new phone you may as well get one with next-generation hardware rather than the XZ which is between the two generations
4. LGOG Pro - screen is too large IMO, cheap feel to the device and, being an LG, there's little chance of you getting updates and there's not too much development
We already have a phone comparing other phones.

[Q] Dunno what to buy, LG G2 VS. Nexus 5 VS. HTC ONE

Dear All,
Greetings
I've been doing a market research since two weeks now and I'm still very confused about what to buy till this moment. In my country, the three phones are of almost at the same price, so having a price premium for Nexus 5 is not available, Nexus 5 32GB is at 544$, LG G2 32GB is at 505$, and HTC ONE is at 518$. So you see, its not that big difference between them, and I'm really lost on deciding what to get as a new .
I'd appreciate your help, so thank you so much
We don't allow such threads on XDA, mainly because all you're going to get is opinions which leads to arguing and abuse and eventually thread closure.
Opinions are like butts... everyone has one.
If you cannot get enough info from existing threads here, my suggestion is go to your local store and handle the device.. have a play.. make up your own mind.
Alternatively, you can visit a site like THIS and do a direct comparison.

Is the OnePlus One Still Worth It Post OnePlus 2?

Hey..I've been getting some questions concerning whether people should buy the OnePlus One still, now that the OnePlus 2 is out. My answer is 100% yes, but I made a quick video to explain why.
I would love to hear you guys' thoughts as I'm sure most would agree as well. I still think the OnePlus One is an amazing device.

Of course the OnePlus one manages to beat most of the 2015 phones .. Its the pure flash ship killer, unlike its brother OnePlus 2
DARK SIDEā„¢
i will definitely keep my opo for now rather than buy the op2
I am using op1 and just got a op2 for one of my friends .... And i still think op1 rocks .... Specially if they do a price cut...op2 is good and very good vfm device but OP1 will remain the actual flagship killer ....i believe the main problem which limits the potential of OP2 is the 810soc which eventhough is the top of line chipset. .. I don't think its actually the best
There's no need for two threads with same comparison. Please stick to this one,
