Can´t root Tmobile d801 kitkat LG g2 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi.. sorry for my bad English
I was reading here that this model presents some problems when booting in recovery mode. In fact, I tried to use the method posted here and I was not able to boot in recovery mode to proceed.
I have read that we need to return the phone to 4.2 version to root it. Is it posible to do it, with a simple method, without returning to 4.2? thanks a lot

No the only way is to return to 4.2 because for some reason the T-Mobile g2 is missing it's stock recovery/can't boot into it

ROMs won't boot

Hey all I have ATT d800 - I used 10d stock firmware and rooted. Using Philz recovery latest version.
No ROMs will boot. I am stuck at the LG screen. The only only ROM that boots are CM11 nightlies.
ANY help here is appreciated.

You can root the stock KK ROM, but you just can't have a custom recovery. Although the T-Mobile one has a rooted stock KK ROM with custom recovery available if you follow the directions.
Don't know about other variants.

What I did was I KDZ'd back to 4.2.2, then I rooted that and flashed a custom recovery. With that custom recovery I flashed T-Mobile's official 4.4.2 KK ROM and then flashed SuperU to achieve root on that ROM.
So now I'm running the official TMO KK ROM with root. I have no idea if that same process will work with your phone though since it's a D800, mine is D801. But I would assume it's the same process. Get the KDZ image of the D801 4.2.2 ROM, then you root that and flash TWRP recovery. Then you use that to flash the official KK ROM with SuperU.
Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Use Method 2! That's what worked for me and others. Good luck dude.

Hi,
When I try adb devices, it seems that my phone is not recognize... :crying:

[Q] i cant flash any roms. help!

ive had the AT&T d800 for a year and a half now. i used ioroot to root the phone, and autorec to have a custom recovery. whenever i try to flash a rom, it always fails without doing anything. i dont want to go through the trouble to revert the phone back to stock jelly bean just so i can flash roms again. how can i flash roms without fully restoring my phone back to jelly bean?
Current Version
Android: 4.4.2 Kitkat
ROM version: Stock D80020k
TWRP: 2.7.0.0
tired of stock always being buggy...
Did you heard of autorec? It restores jellybean bootloader which allows you to flash roms which still uses the old loki method without the need to restore back to antthing else. Btw I also suggest to update recovery. If you do autorec, choose the right version for your model.

Yes just flashed the bumped recovery. If you would ever upgrade to the kk bootloader for some reason like custom lp stock roms then you have to have an bumped recovery else you will get an lg security error
