Samsung tab 3 8.0 or Samsung note 8? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) General

Hello i guys i wanna buy a tablet for web browsing, listen music, youtube, emails and im between those two tablets ,they have 50euros different in my country and i'm think what to buy... i heard the tab 3 has better battery life and i really appriciate lonng battery life but the note 8 is better in specs .Thank you for listening and hope you share your wisdom and experience

Note 8

For me, it would be an easy decision. If you like the stylus & digitizer combo (one of the best features EVER) then get the Note8. Otherwise get the Tab3 since its newer tech. I own the Note8 and a Note3 and LOVE the style and the features it adds to the overall device.

I had both and i xecided to keep the note 8. Longer battery lifei get a full day plus, faster processor. Tab 3 looked a little sleeker but hardware is old and lags alot on apps. Plus the headphone out on the note 8 is much cleaner. Amazon refurbished around 200 for the note 8. Just as good as new.... dont forget the active digitizer and stylus....

So of you have have to go with 220euros for note 8 would you still buy it? I mean is it worth it? Gpad cost like 270 and the tab pro 8.4 300euros in my country.

I would echo the thoughts.
If you want the stylus, it's a no brainer for the Note. The specs are a bit better as well. However if none of that matters, the Tab will do you well.

Note 8 because if the better specs will run better for you longer term than the tab 3. Unless you plan to get a new tablet every year stick with the best specs you can afford

Sort of farewell

As I posted earlier was thinking about selling my note. Well someone offered me $350 cash locally so I took them up and went to Sam's club and bought their last 16gb Google tablet to hold me over until the note 2 in a few months. So far its pretty cool.
I will still be checking here daily to keep up with development and see who is moving to the 2. Plus I've made some good international pals here as well.
anyway, thanks everyone from themers to chefs to developers to those who help and those I've helped, its been fun and ill see ya here and when the second version of the greatest phablet ever is released

How DARE YOU!
But okay, we'll see you on "the other side", and with that; i mean the Note 2 section.
Adios bud. Hope you like the nexus 7, I'll be getting myself one here shortly and I'll see you in the note 2 forums!!

Thanks. I'm counting the days until the 2 is released trust me. So far the tab is good. Enjoying my $25 store credit, first purchase is the new Batman game which is freaking 2gig!
Will still be here checking things out and hoping most of you come over to the 2!

Sorry man, but we don't like wasting money on slightly incremental upgrades. Note 3 or bust.

I actually ask myself the same question. "Is that big purchase of the new device justified for a sake of some improvements (but not so overly dramatic)?".
I realise Note2 will come with 4 core processor, slightly bigger screen and perhaps Spen functionality ironed out and maybe better battery life. But how much all these improved features will affect my daily use. The more I think about it the less I'm convinced that I should switch...

Then you're brain is working properly.
None of the features that have leaked are worthy for NOTE users to switch. I mean sure from a Gnex or an S3... but the NOTE is still one of the most advanced smartphones out there.

Completely agree. I bought my Note 2-3 months ago, and sure i'd like to have Note 2, but lets be honest, throwing loads of money away just to get quad-core cpu ( which i probably won't even notice in my daily use ) is just...well...not very smart, unless you have a lot of cash you can spend for whatever you like, then i guess there's no discussion here. Will definitely buy Note 2, but probably in a year or so.
I am really interested to buy Nexus 7. let us know if you are satisfied with the tablet as a Note user

So far I love it. Couple of days in. Never used spen so no biggie there. Gaming awesome. Quadcore awesome. Screen awesome. Makes calls.
I guess imagine a Note on steroids
I've always wanted a large smartphone and this is it! And it actually fits in most of my pockets, and my wife thinks I'm happy to see her all the time too!
Seriously with it doubt i need note 2 now.
From the Note to Nexus 7

Note 10.1 for £258 or Nexus 10 for £320

For the money what would you get
Note 10.1 for £258 or Nexus 10 for £320
both 16gb.
One of each so you can swap between the two when one is charging.
ha wish I could afford too!

If you don't need the stylus and/or windowing interface of the 10.1, go with the N10. I don't need a 300ppi display, but I read that the 1280x800 (or thereabouts) display of the 10.1 is rather middling. Besides, in terms of software updates, I can't help but think the 10.1 will be left behind, while in addition to AOSP updates the N10 will have dozens of options for themed ROMs. Oh, and ignore the benchmarks -- for normal browsing, news/rss reading, media consumption, etc the N10 will be superior.
Josh

That was the first updates, that's been fixed long ago, Note 2 like experience now.
I personally don't care about the screen but will still get a Nexus 10, already Own a note 10.1 and an S3.
Right I have the same dilemma.
I guess you have to decide what you want from the tablet, great res screen or the functionality of the stylus.
I've just been into Tesco to have a play and to check out the screen. I've decided to ignore the screen specs and just decide whether it looks good enough for what I want at the price, and the answer is YES IT IS.
You need to see it working and check out the pre-loaded images and videos and just decide if the screen is an issue. For me it looks fine.
You're getting a very powerful device with a unique functionality for £258!
I have a question though that I am hoping the Note 10.1 owners can help me with. I noticed a little lag with the stylus when I first started writing a note. Is this an issue? I wondered if it is a case of there being a bit of a delay to begin with but the device caught up once you started writing. Any feedback on this please?
Thanks
N-C

If you want a Note II to go with your GN10.1, Amazon Wireless has them half price!

If you sign up for new account. Pretty awesome deal. Back-ordered 2 weeks.

** I posted this because the Note II is our sister device and an excellent choice if you own the SGN10.1 due to the sharing of S-Note SNB files among other things.
Wish I could do this in Canada...

The Note II has NOTHING to do with the Note 10.1 forum? Its our sister device. It is THE phone to own if you own the Note 10.1. Get a clue friend.
You can't imagine why SGN10.1 owners would want to know about a great deal on our sister device? - ** facepalm **
Geesh.

I bought a note 2 a month after buying note 10.1..
I believe they compliment each other..
Really? I have the S2 right now, but apparently, my dad can upgrade to a new phone.. so I may or may be using his upgrade. Not sure if I should get the Note 2 because it is a gigantic phone which might mean that I'd need my tablet less.. you know? Could you describe how your uses differ/complement each other?
Ya i'll be getting a Note 2 soon...if Samsung hasnt convinced you that Exynos Quad Core is the way to go...nothing will (but just wait til quad A15 next year and new t608 mali!!!) I know the phone is gigantic but more battery + awesome screen + great camera + spen support + great devs = winning combo. Plus after using Note 10.1 its just changed my life for the better with greater productivity. Although i will say this thread is a little late to the table...i could have sworn i saw someone else over on GN2 forums post something about this....
PS to the user above me, this is for NEW lines only, not upgrades or add a line
Well, yes, I love my tablet, and especially the stylus, but I'm not sure I can see myself using it with my tablet as a good combination..
I had the original Note (not the Note II). It is what convinced me to buy the Note 10.1...
Well the obvious advantage of the GN2 as a compliment to the GN10.1 is the ability to share SNB s-notes files and be able to edit them on both devices.
At home the GN2 and GN10.1 are clearly redundant but much easier to carry the GN2 around with you on the road despite its large size.

Exactly. I remember saying this a while back in the summer before the GN2 was introduced how much more productive i am with the 10.1 than any other tablet or pc, and then when the Note2 was introduced, the ability to look at a document on the tablet, edit a few instances with the s-pen, send it off to colleagues, and then throughout the day look over corrections or adendums on theNote 2, all while syncing in the cloud (edit something now in S notes, pull GN2 out 5 minutes later and continue editing, etc.) and editing again for final draft, - all this has really changed how much more productive ive become. It will be the #2 android phone this year for a good reason whether you are a fanboy or not.

Upgrade from galaxy s2.

I have a very one time heavy decision. My very rare chance for getting a phone. I'm currently have a galaxy s2 ig100g. Is it worth upgrade to note 3? Or I should wait for newer model? Any recommendation.
Sent from my GT-I9100G using Tapatalk
From the S2 the upgrade will be something similar to when you bought your first smartphone. The massive increase in power and functionality will definitely be a night and day difference for you.
In my opinion, if you are able to afford to get the Note 3 go for it. There will always be something better coming out next year and if you keep waiting you'll end up never getting anything. The Note 3 however hit a really sweet spot with getting quite a lot right, so it's a great choice for purchasing.

S4 and Note 2 are on the same tier IMO
I think that the S5 will be equally desirable as the note 3 when it comes out in april-ish.
The screen size, battery life, and stylus make the note 2 as good as this gen phones.
Note 3 is a whole generation ahead IMO
I came from S2 to note 3, never looked back. s pen is good once you get use to it.

Same here. My previous phone was S2. I decided to upgrade to Note 3 mainly because I want to feel how the s-pen works and will I be able to maximize my daily usage with the phone's features. Definitely a 100% go for me if you want to upgrade from S2. I am enjoying immensely the Note 3's features, s-pen, bigger screen. It's like a totally new phone to me!! Go for it! :good:

You really need to know what to buy ? Well ain't that cute.
There are 50 million reviews on the Web of all the newer phones and you still want an opinion.
And now you'll decide on 2 opinions which you will get here, if. Interesting.
Sent from my N9005
I don't know why did you pick this Note 3 forum to ask your question, I guess we shall believe that you are confused between the Note 3 and the LG G3?
Well if that's the case then all I can say before buying the Note 3 I was in exact same situation. I was liking the G3, the screen to body ratio it has is really nice, the design is appealing, Knock code is good, OIS enabled camera, curved back is easy to hold and handle, and that display, well it isn't Note 3 class, but still it's QHD (which I personally find meaningless though). Also I personally believe that any UI is better than TouchWiz. But then I came across these two topics,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/crackgate-real-cause-concern-t2890331
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/problem-phone-coverage-t2923043
Also there's the over-sharpening issue of display, which I don't know fixable or not. And how much custom support does it have? Does it have a good kernel? If custom support matters to you that is.
To keep it short mate, LG is still not Samsung, they might be making a lot of progress, maybe at faster rate than Samsung did, but as of now if you want a complete and polished package then you might wanna go with Note 3. Also IMHO, if you can utilize the S Pen then that thing alone can kill any device without it.
Now your choice, remember this is Note 3 section, so if any comments are to come it will favour the Note 3, the opposite will happen if you had asked this on G3 section, that's quite normal, but the above opinion of mine is a completely unbiased one. If I didn't like the G3 I would not have wasted two weeks of continuous reading about it.

I don't think the note 4 is worth much of an upgrade. CPU OC and firmware port can achieve what the note 4 has to offer. Other than the camera.

As an upgrade from a Note 3, no, it's not worth it at all.
But as an entirely new device coming from something different? I think it is.
