Hi guys - first post here, wish it was under less stressful circumstances. Anyway - got a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 today, I have no previous experience of such things, anyway, started it up, transferred contacts etc, installed the sniper program (for root access), Uploaded axera, went through all the motions but after reboot it was still the stock samsung apps, i did get the yellow android triangle digging and googled it which said just to pull the battery (maybe this is where things went wrong) - now the phone works with the standard samsung ROM but after entering PIN i get asked for SIM network unlock PIN. I am really ****ting it incase i have to send it back and they won't fix it - have i screwed my phone? please someone help!
There are a whole lot of missing steps there, and some of them are the important ones.
So far, it looks to me like you have locked it to a different carrier than your SIM card is for. There are unlock solutions on here to extract the unlock code from the phone. You will need to do one of these. If you cannot get past that screen try booting it without a SIM card installed (you will need to enable USB debugging to get the unlock code).
Hello! LTL/FTP, and I wanted to ask this since I recently found my old MyTouch. I have tried to get my SIM card in it, but everytime i do that, it prevents me from sliding down to unlock it. I hard reset it twice, it is unrooted, and I have tried multiple methods, but to no avail. I don't know if anyone here can help [or even cares] but I would love some advice!
Thanks,

Hi all,
I have a problem with my XC, i hope there's someone here who could help me out with this .
I get a SIM card error when i start the phone. After a while (5-10 mins) the error transforms into "No Service" as if the phone now detects the SIM card but has no service whatsoever.
Things i did to my phone prior to this:
- unlocked bootloader
- installed custom recovery
- root
- installed custom ROM
- drm fix
The phone did function properly for a few months actually after these operations without a SIM card error even once. But then i tried to install custom ROMs again (and i'm sure didn't flash ROMs not suited for XC) -actually tried to install "existenz" ROM but i did get a bootloop so i -once again- did the usual procedure with flashtool and flashed a firmware to set everything back to stock as close as possible. That was, when i started to get the SIM card errors. After several restarts (cold and warm) the phone sometimes recognized the SIM card and i could use the phone normally. But this was true only till the next restart, where i got the same SIM errors again.
Things i tried:
- flashed several different firmwares (official) with flashtool (wiping everything) - all the newest firmwares.
- *#*#72786#*#* in dialer to wipe carrier settings
- *#*#4636#*#* in dialer to go into phone settings and changing those settings randomly
- flashed another AOSP based custom ROM instead of stock sony
- wiping and formatting everything between the flashes of course
- cleaning and re-inserting SIM card (which i never took out before anyway)
But unfortunately nothing worked. Phone keeps to not recognizing the SIM card (which is working just fine in another phone). Everything else works just fine on the phone. The IMEI is displaying correct. I'm almost certain that the fault isn't hardware-based (i didn't drop the phone or exposed in water etc.) but software-based. Did i just managed to brick my phone by flashing something related to the modem which i'm not aware of?
I can't find any solutions on google, which help me, which is why i'm posting it here. Sorry for the long post.
Did anyone experience such an error and/or knows what else i could try to fix this? I hope for answers
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
I've got the same problem.
I didn't unlock the bootloader or anything prior to getting the bug.
I wanted to downgrade to nougat, because aparently it helped someone in the forum below, but I didn't manage to do it.

Did you try nougat, when flashing different firmwares?
Your post makes me question if its worth it, trying to downgrade.
Try to remove sd card if you have one. then restart the phone and see if sim card is recognized.
I had the same problem and I think it was a hardware failure in the end.
I also tried almost all the things you were writing above. In my phone it started slowly. Sometimes the SIM was detected but after some time the connection was lost.
It happened some time after I installed a new battery.
But since there are no original batteries available for the device anymore and the new battery was even worse than the 5 year old original battery, I gave up investigating the SIM issue and don't use the phone any longer.
I bought a new (used) x compact because I still like the size and I saw some development was going on for this device.
In the end I cannot tell whether the SIM was not detected because I broke something while changing the battery or due to age of the phone but I think it was a "normal" failure.
I also read from others that they had the problem and the SIM was working for some time after I switched the battery before it stopped working.
Nevertheless. Good Luck to you. Maybe it is something different on your phone.
Had working phone, but forgot mi account password. Decided to reset all... It was my fault, cause IDK that the phone has such lock system. The trouble is that the sim card of the locked account was expired 3 month ago... When I bought the phone I had unlock the bootloader, but now I don't realize what to do. Please help.
P.S. Tried to find something there, but nothing. So pleeese help.
Problem - solved. Installed TWRP via Fastboot. Then used lionage 16 firmware. Everything is working now.
Hi all,
I decided to upgrade my LineageOS (LOS) with MicroG installation to a newer version (v19), and I'm sure I didn't do it correctly. For one, I was supposed to upgrade to v18 first before upgrading to v19, but I went straight for v19. And two, I forgot to use LOS with MicroG files; I used just plain LOS files. Long story short, I'm sure I screwed up the upgrade process.
Anyways ... after the upgrade process, it booted into LOS v19 and everything seemed fine, but once I unplugged my phone, it would enter a boot loop. If I plugged it back into my computer it would exit the boot loop. In settings, I can see that there is no info "Phone number", "SIM status", or IMEI for both slots 1and 2.
If I remove the SIM card, the phone can be unplugged and it won't enter boot mode. In settings, SIM status for slots 1 and 2 say "Not available", but IMEI for both slots has a number.
I have the T-Mobile version of the phone.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? Or do I just need to flash this back to stock?
Thanks
Are you still having this issue or did you find a fix for it? I just got my unlock token for the T-Mobile 6T and followed the LineageOS wiki guide for the 6T. My phone is doing the very same thing yours is. Phone shows no SIM card inserted when there is one in, it will also randomly reboot shortly after installing one is phone is powered on then will boot loot until I wipe the phone. If I leave a SIM card out then the phone works as it normally would. If I leave it plugged into my PC when I insert the SIM card it works fine but still says no SIM is in the phone. I've used clean installes of the 9/22 and 9/15 versions of LOS19.

Sorry for the extremely late response. I either didn't get notified, or if I did, I forgot to reply back. Hopefully this helps you or someone else reading this.
I followed this guide and used the MSM tool to reset my phone. Note that guide is for the T-Mobile version.
Even though I've used that guide to reset the phone, I've used this guide which resets the phone and converts it to an international version. I like this better because you don't need the token to unlock the boot loader and you get other features not in the T-Mobile version, such as the option to manually update the phone (even though this update process didn't work for me for some reason).
If yours isn't T-Mobile, this MSM tool guide should work, even though I haven't tried it myself.
