Rogers has officially discontinued support for the Visual Voice Mail apps on Android, which is why they've removed it. I'd send you the Fido one if I had it, but I've got the Rogers one.

I spoke to fido and they said they are not using visual voice mail with android.
Im guessing it is only with I phone.
Idon't know if that's the truth or not, if you read their forums there is a lot of problems with the visual voice mail.
I will give it a try, thanks.

I just installed WM6 on my Cingular 8525 (HTC TyTn), and when I reinstalled Skype, I cannot make any voice calls. Chat messages work fine, but no voice whatsoever. When I select a contact to call, the program quits. Does anybody have any experience with this problem and a solution?
yea the current version of skype mobile doesnt work right with the hermes. get the earlier version 2.20 or something like that. cant remember off the top of my head. you can get it by googling.

I contacted Skype ... They are supposed to have a version that works with WM6...released after an official ATT ROM release...
Thanks for the advice. I thought Skype 2.2 was the most current, but I'll do some searching. The Skype website says there is a beta version of 2.2, but I can't find it anywhere yet. If anyone knows of a WM6-compatible Skype download, I would love to get the link.

Is there any good visual voicemail apps for tp2?
Youmail doesnt have an app for winmo how about phonefusion. There isn't a lot on the site.
I would love to know as well!!
Funny I was searching also for an app to do this!
just use youmail and have the messages forwarded to an email account setup n your phone. i use gmx.com for all my voicemails to be forwarded to. and just set it up as a pop acct so that the email has rich text formatting. letting it automatically set up will force imap set up and the emails will come as crap text.
Will this work in the UK? looks like it will only accept US numbers?
I decided to use phone fusion, and theres a WM app that installs on your phone too with an interface like on the iPhone which lets you see who called you and lets you play back the message. I myself prefer this over youmail. If you want a customized greeting, you can upload it to the site. Hope this helps!! Oh btw its free

If your operator supports it, you can use Clementine Visual Voice Mail program.
It doesn't require any other third party provider ...

I'm using Fusion Visual Voicemail, it's free too

I have a new Tilt 2 on AT&T(previously a blackberry user) and I was trying to get google talk on here?
Can someone assist on how to get this app on here...if it is possible?
Thanks,
While neither of these apps are just Google Talk, they both work well with it. I have been using Slick for several months without any problems, and recently started using OZ IM. Both work great with gtalk.
Lonely Cat games Slick - http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=slick
OZ IM (as extracted from HD2, also known as TMOUS Messenger) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5753551&postcount=2
You can set up a number of different IM clients to use Google Talk since it uses a standard protocol.

I have never had a problem - I just install the cab, and sign in to Google Talk using my gmail id and password.
I usually end up flashing a new ROM every few days, and have never had a problem installing & signing in.
What is the specific error you get?

that would be google voice.
You can use a couple different google voice dialers to pull your contact info from google voice, and you can send and reply to SMS messages through outlook. That's what I do

go to -> options & enter you phone number ; now try to sign in - that should do the trick. Doesn't matter where you are or who you carrier is. Also it is data based & you wont be charged for text.

I cannot figure this out. According to a different thread there should be a setup in the Phone app but it is not there.
Have you got it working? If so, how?
Thanks

It doesn't work.
Non-Verizon phones do not have VVM support.
You will need to use GV and use that (free) to get VVM functionality.
You setup a GV number and forward non-answered calls to that number and have it go straight to VM.
You then can use the GV app for VVM.
Also please search before starting a new thread.
There are already two threads related to this topic.

In the oreo beta, VVM works natively in the phone app for verizon. Just not in Nougat, not sure why.

I went into the stock Phone app to activate my voicemail with T-Mobile, but each time I try I get a "Cannot activate voicemail" error. Did a lot of Googling, and it sounds like a lot of people have run into this. T-Mobile support was useless. I know I can use T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail app, but that would be my Plan B. I've tried installing and then uninstalling the T-Mo voicemail app. Has anybody else run into this and figured out a solution?

Yeah, the stock phone app has built-in visual voicemail
Can't activate either. Even on old phone. The general consensus is they do not allow 3rd party vvm apps with their service.
This comes from someone who called twice, filed a complaint against first, and explained in depth what the issue was, spending 40+ mins on the call.
I'll follow the thread but it seems like you have to use the VVM app.
does att allow you to use your built in vvm client?

I wouldn't expect much in the way of updates on this issue. T-mobile has been disabling built in visual voicemail on Android phones for years with some sort of network side switch. A handful of people have gotten it to work on some unlocked Pixels and maybe one or two other devices, but the results are never reproduceable.

on my last phone (OnePlus 6T) I had to use the T-Mobile application when not rooted. When I had root I was able to get visual voicemail with transcription via the Google (Pixel) Dialer and changing some lines of an xml file in the root directory and also install the Google phone app as a system app.

Yeah voicemail is fine for most of us too. VISUAL VOICEMAIL doesn't work in the stock dialer. It requires the T-Mobile app downloaded from the app store. :silly:

so what do we need to do to pressure t-mo to make this work?
It's always worked on my pixel phones and I never never thought twice about it until aquiring my oneplus8pro. Now if it's working on pixel by default, I'm assuming there is a way for it to work on Kona, just need to figure it out. Just thought I'd share my opinion & of course if I learn something new, I will report.

That’s pretty lame forcing more spam ware onto us like this. Last built in VVM that worked for me using T-Mobile was with an unlocked USA mode note 9.
