Knock On Not Working - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever since the Kit Kat update my knock on no longer works. Knock off works perfectly however. It really takes away from the phone's experience tremendously. Makes me hate the phone really. Has anyone found a solution for this? Please help.
PS, my phone is rooted, if that helps with a solution.

I have a very weird problem too concerning knock on : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735956

For sprint the code is 5689#*980#

Go to the hidden menu.
Then click on hw device test
Then click on touch test
Then click on touch firmware update
Click OK and your knock on issues will be sorted (hopefully)

Thank you ! So far I used always wrong approach, as there is another option...just for a note, Knock On was working for me, but not always... let's see how this improves.
So this option below is wrong (under settings),it obviously does nothing!

Is it normal that knock on isn't working when knock code is used to unlock the phone ?

What about Verizon?

I guess it is. Mine is also not working with knock code.
Knock on all the way

On the Sprint Variant, we do not have the option to update the touch firmware.

I would also like to know how to do this on the LS980.
The OP has the LS980 Sprint version too.
5689#*980# doesn't have a any of the menus that are needed to update the sprint variant touch screen.

Automatic display brightness

A friend of mine got a nexus s and his automatic display brightness doesn´t seem to work until today. His device is not rooted or has a custom rom, so I can´t test, if it´s an software bug or not.
His firmware is android 4.0 since more than 3 months.
Is there a possibility to check this issue? With an other app or something? Sending back his device is an option, he want to choose as his last possibility.

Should be a software bug. Ask him if he would do a factory reset.

You can always try Sensors applcation to check if light sensor is working properly:

He did a factory reset and now it seems to work again. But he also mentioned that the display is a bit darker than before. But even though it is, he must live with it

Lowest value is lower in ICS then it was in GB. IMHO crap, but it can be changed in framework-res.apk.

In particular one to bring up a menu to turn off LTE.
Cheers
You can dial 3845#*(model number)#
This brings you to the hidden menu and allows you to disable LTE and more. I used it to disable thermal throttling and fast dormancy. My version is the Att one so I dialed 3845#*800#
Hope that helps.

Thanks mate. yea this works 3845#*802# for my Expansys.co.nz purchased LG G2 D802 international. that said where/how do you configure/check LTE isn't on? Alot of menu settings that quite frankly make me nervous so any help on narrowing down the setting would be appreciated.

Hi to all!!
Sorry to bring up an old post but I thought it was the right place to do so!
I have a 801 converted to 803 (rooted with lolipop installed 5.0.2) SP is Videotron in Montreal, Canada... The hidden menu was accessible before but now, I can't acces it... Tells me It can't connect, incorrect IHM...
Any ideas on how I could solve this problem?!
Thanks in advance for the help!
Hi I ve AT&T d800 5.0.2 with root. I remove AT&T adress book with titanium backup and now there is telephone contact. When I go contacts settings and contacts to display there is not telephone bar there. How can I fix this problem Thanks
Open your phone’s dial pad and type the following code: 3845#*<model number>#. For example, type-
3845#*800# (for At&T model)
3845#*801# (for T-Mobile variants)
3845#*802# (for European variants)
3845#*803# (for AT&T and Canadian variants)
5689#*980# (for Sprint LG G2)

Phone will no longer rotate

Hey guys. I hate when I'm not able to figure things out on my own, but this one has me beat.
I recently discovered that my auto rotation has stopped working, I was on the latest AEONFLEX, and I've tried switching to CM11, and also a fresh install, with a system wipe, of AEONFLEX.
It was completely random when it sopped working, and there hasn't been any drops or anything like that, I haven't even had a case on the phone.
I hope someone has had this issue before, because I DEFINITELY do not want to have to go through LG to get it repaired if it were something internal.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I hadn't tried stock yet, but flashing a new modem worked. Like what even? How can a modem effect a sensor like that? I had flashed the kit kat modem and apparently that messed it up.
Its fixed now though. Thanks a ton!!! I thought I was going to be sending this thing to LG

Looks like you fixed it but sometimes its a new launcher so check settings
Nice!
Glad you were able to save your phone
Might have been just a problem of cache or something that was cleaned when you flashed the modem!
Yet it worked, so problem "solved" haha

Actually this happened to me too. I created a flashable zip to flash the new kit kat modem on my CM11 install. I cleared dalvik and cache, flashed the modem, rebooted and there is no auto rotate. Flashed the old modem back and auto rotate worked?? I don't get how flashing the modem disables auto rotate.

Modem might carry gyro code.
I had this happen and my fix was disabling auto rotate, running the motion sensor calibration on a flat surface and then re-enabling auto rotate again. Haven't had any issue since.

For some reason I don't have the option to calibrate the motion sensor on CM11?
Any other apps i can try to calibrate the sensor?

Knock On Feature Not Fully Working/Replacement Options

Hello All[emoji4],I have a 32Gb Model Sprint LG G2, I've had this device since late February, and its been performing fine, UNTIL NOW, the Knock On feature does not work fully at all, what I mean by it does not work fully is when I knock on the screen to turn it off it works, but when I knock to try and turn the screen on, there's no response, no matter what part of the screen I knock on, I still get the same results, I tried doing the Sprint Hidden Menu, I tried restarting my phone, and even did a factory reset, and I still get the same problem, I did the Motion Sensor Calibration, I turned off the Knock On feature, restarted my phone, turned back on the knock on feature, and you guessed it, still the same results, I'm really thinking of getting a replacement from the Sprint Store, any help, I will gladly welcome it.[emoji20]
On to my second question, If I go and get a Replacement from the Sprint Store, do they give me options to what device I want to replace for the G2, or do they give you a better performing G2? I'm also not the Primary Account Holder on Sprint, I'm on a plan called "The Sprint Advantage Program" and with me asking for a replacement phone, with me not being the Primary Account Holder, will this hinder me from proceeding to make a replacement?
Really appreciate any help and advice I can get.[emoji16]

Yep, and I kept checking for an update, and it says up to date, I also go to Firmware Update, and it says no firmware update. Hopefully it fixes this problem because AS OF RIGHT NOW, when I tested to see if anything was loose inside my phone, I gave it a little shake, and I hear something out of place, don't know if that's the cause.
