Strange apps appeared - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody, I noticed just now that these four applications have appeared, I never install by myself, they can not be uninstalled (they seem to be system apps), the device isn't rooted I do not understand how they can be installed.
I think they are comes from the last OTA update that I made tomorrow morning (ND3)
Nobody knows what they are?
Thanks in advice and sorry for my bad English.

Go to setting > app manager > and all and search them and then turn off
Or You can use of romtoolbox app to freeze
them
But it needs root

As freegalaxy stated, best bet if your not rooted is to disable the apps on the apps manager, i usually get 2 or 3 bloatware apps on the RU firmaware and since im not rooted i pretty much just disable those apps and i dont need to worry anymore.

Did you change the CSC?
when you change the CSC some new apps may appear.

4.3 update questions...

Hey everyone I have a few questions hopefully that can be answered. I took my phone to bestbuy today because I jacked up my recovery and it disappeared so they fixed that and now my root is gone which is what I wanted to happen because of the 4.3 update. If my phone is still rooted somehow will the update jack up my phone? Or will it just get rid of the root and make it like everyone else's phone? Second question. When I try and look for updates by hitting the update button in settings it won't let me do so. I remember freezing DM manager with titanium and I don't know why it would still be frozen because my phone got flashed back to stock. Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me... :/ I have a feeling its just me. Hopefully not and its just a common prob. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thank you!

you took it to best buy. to restore it to stock. it is stock, not rooted. The update button is for updates from samsung, you just got restored to the latest update. there is no updates available.
Is titanium backup still installed?

I uninstalled it cuz there was no need for it anymore. I don't have root access anymore but It is just odd that the Software Update button worked before and I was able to at least connect to at&t to check for an update and now it won't. I was wondering if there is a possibility that something glitched and at&t DM server is still frozen.

look in about phone>Device Status, does it say 'modifed' or 'normal'?'
Sorry for the late reply... it says Samsung so I'm assuming normal.

Language resetting to EN??

Hi guys, from yesterday every time I reboot my S4, I get language reset from Italian to English.. After a very deep analysis :silly: I figured out that every time I open multi tasking and I click on the "close all" button on bottom right, in the file containing language settings /data/property/persist.sys.language magically "it" becomes "en"... The incredible thing is that I tried both factory reset and re-flash my ROM (WanamLite 1.4).. AND THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE!
What could be the cause???
First thing would be to try another rom to check is that no bug in you current ROM
Mmh I'm using this ROM for more than 4 months and I never had a similar problem bifore yesterday..
Inviato dal mio GT-I9505 utilizzando Tapatalk
I have the same problem with omega v12.

Aww since when?? And have you got maybe an idea of which could be the cause?
UPDATE: that file returns to "en" not only when I close all the apps with the button, but is enough to remove the file manager I use to write "it" (I tried with both Solid Explorer and ES File Manager) from the multi tasking..
well i had this glitch after updating wanam xposed and i think the google play service or another google service updated itself , so after a reboot my language had been reset . but it seems okay now i rebooted the system twice and the language setting is unaffected.
Hi, I've same problem with Samsung S3 I9300.
Since I tried the 4.3 Samsung ROM (with Wanan xposed) and reverted to 4.1.2 I've this problem.
How can we fix it?
Cheers.

Since 3 days, I don't know how and why, but alle I know, I tried almost everything to solve this issue and no success. Removed apps, cache, dirty flash same rom, kernel. All didn't worked, (I try last time multi account for Whatsapp, I think that was the problem)
So I used a Olde backup 6 weeks ago. And now everything is oky..

Yea! The problem is the lastest versiĆ³n of SU. Uninstall it and that's it!
Check it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47479155&postcount=8475
Cheers.
OMG you saved my mind from exploding :silly: it's 3 days I'm spending hours and hours trying to solve this problem!! A huge THANKS! :highfive: ..So we have to wait an update of SuperSu app via Play Store right?
EDIT: Yeah, the update is out!! Bug fixed!

Question about rooting for first time (4.4)

I've never rooted a phone before and I'm a little nervous about doing so. I don't fully understand the difference between all the various ROM's. For instance are there advantages and disadvantages between the different ROMs that are floating around? Also what happens when 4.4 comes out? I'm assuming I'd be blocked from Updating. Would I have to wait until someone releases a 4.4 ROM? The main reason I want to Root is to remove all the useless apps Samsung/Tmobile stuck on my phone, but when I check out the processes, I don't even see that they are running. Would it even be worth it to root if this is the only reason I am doing it for?
I also see people talking about removing TouchWiz once they are rooted. I already am using Nova, but if I remove TouchWiz, will I just have the basic Android UI like I had on my Nexus? Or will I have to stick with a 3rd party launcher? Does removing TouchWiz result in a noticeable speed difference?
Hey rooting isn't for everyone. You could root and get rid of certain apps and bloatware. What I did before rooting was just disable and hide those apps.
It was fine but then as root user for a long time, I rooted and now use it more to tweak the look and feel.
The best way to know a rom is to try it.
I have used alot on this forum but currently feel comfortable with Omega Rom v6 with Wanam Xposed.
The possibilities are endless and as long as you understand the Knox flag then you should be free to try and do what you will.
Last if you ever want to just go back to stock and leave it there with updates it's pretty easy.
Sam mobile has always the latest updates available to download and you install those with Odin.
Good luck

Thanks for the response! May I ask how you disabled and hid the apps without rooting?
Nevermind actually, I figured out how to turn them off from the App info screen. But is there a way to hide them so they don't show up at all?
Edit: lol nevermind again. They disappear when you turn them off. Thank you so much for letting me know about this! I had no idea this was possible

Apps to stop

Hello
Got my S5 yesterday and I am not rooted (yet) and Ive been wondering if is it safe to "disable" samsung apps and other applications that I will never use without disabling OTA UPDATES
like in the attachment.
If someone can provide a list which contains wich ones are safe to disable without removing OTA updates option that would be great.
Thanks
Just disable it and it will ask u install latest version after pressing OK results disabled. Its better way to, just like removing bloatware. I always do like that.

SuperSU binary unable to update

Im running the stock rooted ROM on my Vz note 3, no desire to use the ROM slot overlay.
I can no longer get SuperSU to update, even with installing the beta versions.
Does anyone have a fix?
Thanks

Use root explorer or the equivalent, go into /data/app and locate eu.chainfire.supersu.apk and if you have the pro version, locate eu.chainfire.supersu.pro.apk (there may be a "-<number>" before the ".apk) and tap on them and you should get asked if you want to install or view. Install each.
That should fix the problem.

I did that, and it reinstalled/updated the current install, but I still cannot update. Is there a step I'm missing? I'm worried I'll need to factory reset at this point.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
I'm having the same issues. I have even tried to install different SU apps to see if I could make it happen that way. Still no luck and I've done all of the above aside from factory reset...something I DON'T want to do...

Your best bet is to install safestrap and flash a supersu package. Then uninstall ss if u want. Towel root is a temporary fix imo.
Check your /data/data folder and /data/app (/system/app if you've converted) and check for duplicates or what number beside package name (e.g. com.xxx.xxxx-1 or -2 and sometimes even 3 and 4. Rename it to have a -1 and then go to /data/dalvik-cache and find the same package(s), delete them and reboot. If still unsuccessful, reflash from safestrap but manually mount system b4 flashing just for the hell of it and after second boot-up (if required), you should be good. Erase any .txt or the like from sdcard and extsdcard volumes from chainfire or supersu too I almost forgot to add
Got it to finally update binaries....upgrade your SU to Beta version 2.13. Works like a charm and snappier!
Just want to say thank you to everyone who replied with great suggestions, unfortunately none of them worked. I did however stumble on a fix. I downloaded mobogenie , and when it went out to look for app updates, it had an update for superSU that the play store did not show me. I ran the updates and now we're good.
Hope this fix might help others who are stuck in the same boat.

Thanks for the tip. Technology is complicated, it is weird how a random app like that will fix something.
My superSU actually works now, one day it just asked to update and it actually worked! I think that was after another fresh factory restore and towelroot.
Anyway, good luck!
Play store has a version that works fine now. Version 2.16
