I use an app that requires I use this messaging app in order for it to work after kitkat update:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkyeah.message
Problem is this messaging app is ugly and bright white with not many options. Is there a way to theme this app for darker colors or just black and white? I do have xposed installed if that helps. If not are there any themers that would like to take on this project for a donation? Thanks guys!
Nah

....assuming you mean the UI then try some of the Launchers available from the market. My personal favourite is LauncherPro which is very customisable.
....otherwise you surely didnt mean the wallpaper
If you're talking about the status bar and icons etc. you need to be rooted and flash framework mods. if you just mean the homescreens, dl a launcher like launcher pro or adw.
Thanks for all your replies.
I meant the APPEARANCE Black colour. Eg. This white and blue xda app appearance
Should I say skin in other words?

Yep. Skin might be a better way to put it. Various apps are 'skinable' and will allow you to change colours etc. If you mean the XDA app then to be honest i dont use it.
For any particular app try searching the app name and 'skin'.
can anyone give me a link to framwork-mod for HTC wildfire??
I upgraded from the Sprint Epic 4G Touch with JB 4.1. My phone app had a blue background and dark theme. Is there a way to change this bright white $h! t that Samsung has opted to go with? A dark theme and color also helps extend my battery life.
Same question on the default mail app. This changed with an update to the app itself at some point on my Epic 4G Touch. I don't remember how I changed the email app background color but I cannot find it in the settings which is where I thought I did it.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement to the stock email app that might allow this?
I think K9 mail has a black background.

After changing stock Optus rom to unbranded Australian firmware I lost the dark coloured application monitor widget and gained an ugly blue one. So if anyone has the dark coloured one could you please send me the apk.

I liked it matching the assistive light. I guess I'm picky and like it looking symmetrical. Wish they were both 75% transparent tho. That would make it look awesome.

like what? you mean you want black background? have you tried to choose another theme in keyboard settings? Or you want to do it for you? there's pink background theme for keyboard, wooden theme and black, too
Isn't that the Sony Xperia default keyboard? You can just install the modded apk if it is.
Yes it is but I wanted it inverted like.... theirs a option on the G2 that you can click on and it makes everything inverted I tried sending a screen shot but that what came out mining like.

I went to best buy yesterday and noticed the s5 on display had the messaging app with a dark theme! Is there any way to get this on our phones?
If you go to settings and display you can change background for when your in a conversation. But in the overview you can't. You sure it wasn't the Verizon sms app?

if you dont want my rom you can install 8sms from play store.. its better than stock imo

Does 8sms have a quick reply popup? I really like that with chomp sms. And you can customize the look of everything. Mine is totally dark right now.

Unfortunately coming from a galaxy nexus i would like to avoid the stock kit kat messaging app. I've used it for a while an i don't really like it lol. I like the way the stock s5 messaging app looks.
