Chomp SMS Users

Is there any chompsms users that have root and use better cut for chomp sms that are experiencing auto rotate problems like your phone will be held in portrait mode but the screen is showing a landscape? My friend and I are getting this problem and we can't reproduce it. And I am. rying to help chomp diagnose this. If anyone has any information please let me know it is highly appreciated
I was having the opposite auto rotate problem. I had my phone tilted for landscape, but it would stay in portrait, I do not use better cut, but I do have my phone rooted. There was a software update for chomp last night and That seemed to have fixed my problem.
The update didn't fix my issue
Try using another app that uses the acceloremeter?
It could be it needs recalibrating.
Yeah try calibrating it with Bubble in the market.
If you're using one of the ROMs that auto rotate everything you might try turning off auto-rotate in chomp-sms itself. I had this problem with one of haykura's ROMs and found that that fixed it. I think it tries to rotate twice everytime, thus rotating itself back to the same thing... or something like that.

No, you can recalibrate the accelerometer that controls the auto-rotate feature

yeah i had this issue before with chomp, i went into my bubble app and use its calibrate feature and everything works like a charm, my compass app
let me try that out
yea i had that prob.. seems like the g1 has a slow reaction for auto-rotate.. or its jus mine. even with open home auto-rotate and RC33 aautop-rotate. i have to shake it at times to get it back to normal.

how to rotate screen? in setting

in hd i used to toggle between landscape and portrait from setting - system- screen then portriat or landscape,
in hd2 how can i do this?? this property is not availabel in setting.
pls can somebody tell how to rotate screen in this hd2?
thanks
hi ..ive got a similar issue .....the only shortcut that works with the accelerometer on my hd2 is the photo album ....the browser etc doesn’t respond the orientation of the handset ??.....any help would be most appreciated
.............
Did you try to keep your screen upright (vertical) when turning te screen? This should at least solve the issue for a couple of programs like Opera in landscape.
Second, not all programs support a landscape mode. There are more discussions on this forum how to solve this issue. You could use the search to find them.
Hope this helps.

turn off proximity sensor and light sensor

Hello , I would like to turn off my Mini`s proximity sensor and light sensor , but I couldn`t find out any setting even in the registry editor .
anybody could teach me ?
thank you
I don't know about the Proximity Sensor.. But you can Turn OFF Ambient Light sensor.. In Sence, go to Settings tab->Sound & Display.. Here in Bottom you will get Backlight setting, tap on it.. Then you will see the first Option "Automatically adjust Backlight".. Just uncheck it.. Your Light sensor will be disabled..
I don't know if there any other way..
This didn't work, It merely turns off the backlight adjuster for when you haven;t used your phone in x minutes.
I am currently looking through the registry on the HDMini to try and find the entry...
Has anyone managed to find the registry entry already?
Cheers

So I installed CHT and the CHTeditor (although it is not written for the resolution of my phone), I have managed to look through the settings on the editor but couldn't find the setting. Can you point me in the right direction?

Managed to find the HVGA port for CHT and installed, still can't seem to find the option to turn off the ambient light sensor. I think it's back to searching through the registry.
CHT looks pretty cool though after playing around with it...

sure.long press on screen, add free link, toggle switch.there u will find proximity sensor and proximity relight.
Thanks
I tried both of these, and after adding and turning on the options the phone went crazy and the screen kept activating and de-activating. I managed to turn off the options. But still, during a call the screen de-activates so I can't hang up.
I've gone back to checking the registry and have found a couple of entries which could be useful. I'm testing changing a few now. Will post the results...
You could try to use Lumos, its a nice tool to tune light sensor for oneself.

Hello everyone, I'm going crazy for even I disable this proximity sensor, and someone managed?
Me too... I have a broken proximity sensor... I can't hang up... When I make a call the display goes black and never return to light... Is there a way to kill it forever???
Look at this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=488991
This is an app, that disables light sensor during calls and also use g-sensor. I have also the problem with proximity sensor (can't hang up after dial), but this app helps me to hang up. After dialing your screen turn off but if you turn your phone to landscape position the screen will turn on again.
It is solution for me.

nice app, thanks! But the feature that the screen turns on in landscape mode does not work on my mini. Do I have to change any setting for that? Also, it says it is possible to have the screen always on. Also that does not work.
similar issue in HTC Aria?
maybe this link for the Aria helps? At least it helped me, I forgot to put back a little rubber cover on the sensor:

Has it ever rotated the way you want? There's a couple of ways to make that happen, but the quickest is to just use the cab I have attached here. However, if you're running a custom ROM, you should check first to see if that ROM has the cabability built-in somehow (many do have that).
thanks my friend, that worked well

[Q] Can anybody help me? (screen rotation manually)

Hi everybody, i have a problem about my hd2's orientation sensor. It's not working. Screen not rotates neigder auto rotation on nor off... Is there any way to rotate screen on android?

I too was looking for a way to manually change screen rotation without using the g sensor however there is (as of now) no app to force screen rotation , if your g sensor is completely busted you will not be able to rotate the screen . try downloading Max protractor from the market and see if you get any feedback in that program to confirm it is the G sensor and not a bad kernel .
Orientation sensor looks like a chip, i see it when i disassemle the phone. And it was broken (physically damaged). If i can find a working one, i try to replace it. whatever...
Yesterday i find a little program, name is "Rotation Locker". It works very well for me. I suggest it...
PS: Apologize for my bad English
