UFO sighting app

I think this is a great idea:
http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread662169/pg1
I have an idea for a UFO Sightings App that I want to share with you all. I'm sharing it because I have zero intention of making it. I don't have the skill or the money to it. I am sharing this with you because I would like to see it get made. I want no compensation in any form for this idea.
So here is the idea: Want to see a UFO? Yeah? Here is an app for that...
When someone with this app sees a UFO he/she must quickly open the app and hit the "Report A UFO Sighting In Progess" button. This would open a scroll menu that gives the witness different options that would help describe what is being seen. ie, saucer, glowing orbs, unknown aircraft, chemtrail, planet x...Once selected another scroll menu would pop up asking estimated altitude ie, 0-1000ft.,1000-10,000ft, 10,000ft-40,000ft., space...One last scroll menu would pop up asking the UFOs direction of travel ie, north, south, east, west, static. Once this info has been given the app switches over to the phones built in camera or video. The app will place an overlay or HUD that gives information on the screen and is recorded as the witness films the event. The information displayed would include direction/heading, time/date, inclination, as well as a timecode stamp to each frame of footage. When the witness stops recording, a button type option will appear asking "Do you wish to stop recording this sighting?" If "yes" is clicked a copy of the sighting is immediatley sent to the "UFOster (or whatever you name the app) Website."
Clicking "No" would bring back the phones camera. One last menu option would be "UFO Sighting Advise." This gives tips on what to do, how to film, what to show, and other info to best capture the UFO.
Here is what makes this App really cool. As soon as the UFO witness answers the three questions, after selecting the report button, an alert goes out IMMEDIATELY to ANYONE who has the app on their phone. So if you have the app you'd recieve a message that would say "ATTENTION! Glowing orbs have been reported __ miles from your location (amount of miles from you based on the witnesses location detected by the phones GPS) and is heading __ (the direction reported by the witness) at an altitude of __ (based on which option the witness choose). This message would then ask if you would like to open "UFOster?"(or whatever you name the app)
When you open the app from the alert message prompt it takes you straight to the phones camera/video with a different overlay or HUD. This HUD has all the same info as a original witness would have but with the addition of a small red arrow that points you in the direction of the reported event. This makes it easy for the directionally challeged to know where to look. Once you start recording you become a new witness and your footage is sent to the website once you stop. This will help stop CGI trickery to help limit hoaxing.
Safegaurds against hoaxing should include limiting the distrobution of the app to people 17 years of age and older. A user rating system and "report hoax/bogus alert" option should be included in the app. Users who have been reported as hoaxers will not have their reports distributed.
Customization options should allow the user to decide the radius of sighting alerts. For example, someone may choose to only recieve alerts within a 30 mile radius. App users may also report a sighting that is no longer in progress in which alerts are not sent out to the app community. The option to be alerted of only specific types of UFOs should be available as well.
The purpose of this app is to gather more witness, more footage, and more camera angles of UFO events. This would greatly increase the chances of putting to rest the age old question, are we alone? Imagine, if a UFO sighting happened in Los Angeles, seen by a witness with this app and we had a few thousand people with it on their phones in the area. Imagine the footage you might get! Imagine the traffic to your website when everyone comes to see the collection from the event.
Thanks for reading. I hope someone out there makes this!
Best of luck,
Quantum D.

Would someone be interested in creating an app for UFO sightings?
That's a great idea, except you would need some server with lots of storage for all those videos and a good connection for it which won't be cheap.
I can't help you out now though, I'm taking a java course this semester so down the road perhaps.
Sweet idea. I could have used it a couple of times. The video storrage can be your google account linked to youtube. Pictures can be shared via p2p. If someone starts this app, I will donate time and money.
Really great idea. I have to say you did a fantastic job. please share and update any progress.
soo...whats is going with the app?

Need an app developer for a project $$$.

I have a proposition for any developer that's up to it. I need to build an app for Directv (also Dish in the future) technicians. It will include the following features:
-Contact list with important DTV contacts, with the option to add custom contacts for supervisors, etc.
-Browser add-on or mod of some kind that will allow the use of the camera as a barcode scanner to populate fields within the browser.
-Spreadsheet or something that can use camera with barcode scan to keep track of inventory, it will need an option to save a file every day and be able to email it to the desired recipient.
-Spreadsheet to keep track of jobs completed and amounts to be paid.
-Expense tracker that will be able to take pic of receipts, input and track mileage, and other expenses.
-Satellite finder, there is already an app out there called Dish Pointer Pro, it uses the camera to show you approx. position of satellites in the sky. If we can build something similar only geared only for Directv satellites, that would be great. If not maybe just a shortcut to that app.
-List or rather searchable database (maybe on a webserver if file size is an issue) of all Directv remote control codes for TV, DVD, etc.
-Flashlight
I will be selling this app in the market and will split profits 50-50 with the developer for as long as they continue to develop and support it.
I can do the graphics in photoshop (I am a amateur web designer but I am pretty good) and all of the marketing for this software via my Installation supply website at www.lcisupply.co and word of mouth to other installation companies here in AZ.
I will also be developing PC software and a Web Interface for supervisors to log into and check on inventory and expenses etc. to go along with it in the near future.
My goal is to develop an all-around software suite, that will make the technicians jobs easier and also help the installation companies keep track of inventory and pay for their techs. The android app is just the beginning of what I hope will become a widely used technician management system.
Please ask any questions you may have.
PM me for serious interest in becoming the developer.

Kindle Noob,
Here is a list of nine different Blogger available on Android, i figured we give you a little synopsis of each one and let you decide. We like WordPress - if you need a copy let us know we have it on our server:
WordPress (Official Client) – Has been improving slowly and steadily since it first debuted in the Android Market. While it might not be the ideal experience to do a lot of blogging, it’s great for creating drafts and/or editing work done by others. With no visual editor, it does rely on knowledge of basic HTML/PHP/CSS coding. We’d love to see a tablet friendly version that takes advantage of fragments.
Tumblr (Official Client) -Simple and straightforward application for a simple and straightforward blogging service. Clean and easy to post text, quotes, links, pictures, etc.
Posterous (Official Client) – Post to your personal, public site or private groups with this sharp looking application. No frills or clutter to get in the way of sharing your thoughts whenever inspiration strikes.
Blogger (Official Client) - Oddly enough, this Google app is the latest of the big blogging tools to hit the Android Market. As one would expect, it lets users create new articles add pictures, labels, and more. Not quite as feature-rich as third party alternatives, we expect Google to roll updates out on a regular basis.
AnyPost – More micro-blogging than conventional blogging, this app supports Ping.fm so it syncs Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and more. Toss a photo or geo-location in and spice up your words.
Blogger-Droid – Until Google released the official app, this was a popular alternative. Users can view, edit, and delete posts as well as upload images, view comments, and post comments. Available in both free (ad-supported) and paid ($3.16 US) versions.
Pixelpipe – Manage blogs posts for more than 75 services including Blogger, TypePad, WordPress, MoveableType, tumbler, and LiveJournal. Also supports other tools and services such as Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Blogger, Twitter, Foursquare, and Dropbox.
Moby – Share text, audio, pictures, and videos across a couple dozen social networking and blogging services. Supports big players like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, and Netlog.
MyTumblr – With a gorgeous look and rich set of features, it’s easy to see why this app has more been downloaded over 50,000 times. Available in free (ad-supported) and paid flavors, users can view a full dashboard of options, submit every Tumblr type of post, set notifications, integrate with Twitter, and stream audio and video posts.

Kindle Noob,
Here you go these are the apps we had on our server. All these apps originated from Google Play Store, we have attached both WordPress (Official Client) and Tumblr (Official Client) for you to try.

[Q] Call for entries:: A Football (Soccer)Mobile App.

We seek developers from any part of the world for an innovative mobile app project.
This project is dedicated solely on Football in a country in Africa.
For the eventual developer of this app, all the payment will be done through this medium. Although we are willing to pay between $1500-$1800 or maximally pays $2000 on this job
PROJECTS’ MAJOR COMPONENTS
News feeds, Videos/highlight shows, live score, Interactive communities, Feedback/suggestions
OVERVIEW
To design, built, operate and later transfer a football (soccer) mobile app.
OBJECTIVES
To pull news and other specified contents from web-portals, blog sites to the app. All this must be done without slowing down the app. invariably; we are talking about a sorting algorithm that is robust, fast and easily assessable to the app. IT MUST NOT SLOW DOWN THE APP.
Alternatively, creating a pool at which the app can interact with. All the news, videos et al will be aggregated in that pool and the app can eventually interact with it.
SPECIFICATIONS
The major components will make use of strong sorting algorithm because for instance, all the news components will be sourced from different web sources.
For LIVE-SCORE components, we are looking at an sms-based auto-app-update-lives-core. For instance match updates can be sent via sms to a dedicated phone number which must have been programmed to automatically update on the app. However, we will always appreciate if there are better, and cost effective options to achieve this feat.
OUR REQUESTS
The design must be simple but captivating,
The navigation must be easy
Must be on different version of Androids, iOS, Window Phone and Blackberry
Please when applying, endeavor to email me for further briefing.
The match fixtures, result and league table components must be easily navigable and more importantly, easily updatable.
The featured football/soccer clubs must have their logos attached to them. (We will supply those logos)
The app logo and naming must be unique. We will welcome inputs from you on this.
We are proposing a back-end kind of connection to match-day videos/highlights on a website. This app must have proper referencing of the source website, same goes for the news too.
The feedback component of the app must be able to send feedbacks/suggestions to the app admin.
We are yet to decide if the app will have an authentication pane with it, where one can sign-up, have a profile and log-in and out. But if it will, then it must be very simple- Username, phone number, email address, supported football club. The user log in page must be able to allow each user to log in automatically.
The app must have an interactive community, where app user can intearact based on the football/soccer clubs they support.
CONCLUSION
Please note that we are more interested in anyone/group that can achieve our BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) option for us. We will strictly follow your own proposed remuneration afterwards.
There will be an MOU to be jointly signed by both party before the start of the project . This MOU must state your specified time frame for setting up the project, and also operating it.
Please note that all financial consideration will be paid to you ONLY when you are about to transfer the project to us.
More importantly, the App must be able to have specified sizes of Advertisement pane (This is a very important component).
For the eventual developer of this app, all the payment will be done through this medium. Although we are willing to pay between $1500-$1800 or maximally pays $2000 on this job

Three apps I've been lucking for with no luck (Notes, Habits, Calories)

Hi, I've asked this question on reddit but it seems like no one even saw my post - no comments, no up/down-votes.
I can't find anywhere three apps that do everything as I want.
1) A note syncing app. I want to be able to write something or take a picture and be able to see it on my watch. I sometimes need to glance at something so it would be perfect on a watch. The app should be like Google Keep but would let me zoom into photos (Keep doesn't) and wouldn't crop pictures on my round screen (Keep crops). The app's purpose doesn't necessarily have to be notes syncing but I should be able to do something like that.
2) Habits tracking app. Or app where you can reactivate to-do lists every day. It would be great if it also remembered how often I do the tasks. On my phone I used Loop Habits Tracker app but it doesn't work on wear.
3) Calorie counter for wear (like my fitness pal).
Please help me! Those three are the main things I want to do on my watch and I can't!
I just don't understand why no one responded. No suggestions, no replies saying 'they don't exist' or 'you could sideload <this> because it works perfectly". Nothing. Silence. Here and on reddit.
