So, on Note 2 it has been established Samsung inbuilt a better led light to assure visibility on the White version of the phone. White Note 2 has more accurate colors when using apps to set led lights etc. Is this also the case with Note 3?

Hey guys,
If the notification light has all these colours available, why in stock android do I just see light blue?
Seems a waste to implement a full RGB light if it never uses it.
Is light flow needed to use other colours?

Stock Android stuff is white.
Facebook is blue, Twitter is green and there will of course be others. Lightflow does indeed you you set other colours for things.
yes, light flow needed to adjust.
Hello,
Recently, I have purchased Note 3.But I find that there is some wrong with the notification LED. The pure white LED light have a pinkish hue while the red ,green and blue led light is normal. is it the notification led is fault??Thanks for answering the question.
I don't think it faulty. I have 3 notes here.. All having same behaviour of light in white as your mention.

Normal, happens with the S3 too (purple tint on the s3).
They don't produce blinding white, and that's normal.
ok..in fact I have Note 2 LTE ,but the problem is not that serious and so I have such question.
This is normal.this forum should b closed..dear op ask for moderator to close this threads thnx
Hi the note 4 seems to be using the light sensor to dim the led notifications led when dark. my note 3 does not do this. I have been through the settings and the conclusion I have is note 3 on KK4.4.2 and note 4 is on KK4.4.4 am I right in assuming this as its a very important decision whether or not I return the note 4 and stay with the note 3, but then again when note 3 gets the 4.4.4 update it will probably do the same thing. Is there any help I could get to disable the light sensor from using the lightflow program, any hacks ect?
thanks in advance.

Try led blinker. Working fine.

Hi tried LED Blinker and does the same thing, when in a dark area the led dims, put phone in a lighter area and led gets bright?
I have no idea what your talking about cuz my LED on my Note 4 is dim all the time I just tested it again and its actually kind of a piss off coming from the Note 2 and having a big bright LED all the time! *sigh*

Light flow works fine for me. Try dialing *#0*# for diagnostic then click LED test. Blue green and red will appear at normal strength.
Mine is bright when in light and dim when in dark, looked for settings and none found. Mine was purchased from Handtec and is unlocked. came with 2 pin adapter so I assume its from Germany as it started with German as default language?
I tested it and it changes from bright to dim every time.

Led light uses ambient light sensor to brighten or dim the led notifications. This is specific to Note 4 AFAIK.
Yes thanks. I thought it was kitkat4.4.4 as opposed to kitkat4.2.2 on note 3. So figured when note 3 gets update 4.4.4 led would dim. Kept the note 4 anyway and glad i did not get iphone 6 plus. Oops sorry just swore
On my note 4 the LED seems pretty dim as compared to the LED on my Note 2.
Is there any way to change the intensity? Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I tried downloading Light Manager and it's already set to 'bright.'
Do i have a faulty unit or is the led just that dim?
I think the led notification on the note 4 uses ambient light sensor to adjust its brightness. Try to test it. Just shine a bright light on the sensor and turn and off the screen and you will see the led notification is brighter.

I always wanted my the light to be dimmer on my Note 2, bought the flip case just to be able to keep it face up at night by my bed.
Yuuuup I also noticed the notification light on the Note 4 is verrry dim and hard to see even at night sometimes from certain angles compared to the Note 2 which is what I switched from.. Always liked having a big bright notification LED on my Note 2. It was even a bit bigger of a cut-out for the LED on Note 2 as well.. Bummer! Kinda takes away from the point when I can hardly see it in daylight! Come on Samsung, f*cksa matter with urself!!
I wondered the same
I also came from the note 2 and its great led notification. Moved to the note 4, love it but the led is barely visible.
My notification light is only visible at night really. In normal lighting indoors it's visible, but not enough to catch your eye. Seems silly.
Is there a way to remove the "auto dimming or auto bright" function? I'd rather it just be bright all the time...is that a romantic or a kernel thing?
I have the note 3 n900 and i notice that the white color on the screen has an obvious yellow tint so i compare it with galaxy tab 2 10 inch and galaxy mega 5.8 inch ... and both devices shows the white color like a normal white not having this yellow tent on white color like my note 3 and the white color is more bright than my note 3 ... and i set the screen mod to dynamic mod cause its the least yellow tint of all other mods like standard or even adaptive mod.. so i don't know ... is it only my device or all note 3 devices are like that and do u compare its screen it with other samsung devicrs

I had a Galaxy S2, had yellowish tint on the display. I am unsure whether it had two variants or not, but I had the one which was officially sold in my country.
I had a Note 2, Exynos, yellowish tint was there but in less extent.
I had an S4, Exynos, there was almost no yellowish tint, at least that's what I can remember.
Now I have a Note 3, I don't have any yellowish tint at all, and I use movie mode. Turning on Adapt display or Dynamic makes the screen irritatingly cool/bluish. Honestly I could not be more happy with a phone's colour reproduction.
However I read a lot, and I saw that a lot of people possessing the Exynos variant, which is yours, are having this problem on GSMArena Note 3 page. You can see for yourself, just go back few pages. I think it has something to do with Exynos models only? Cause I have never heard a person having a Snapdragon variant complaining about this issue.
You can ask Samsung CC to replace the phone, only if you can show them how a display without any tint looks like, cause they are both arrogant and dumb.
Thanks 4 ur reply

Keep in mind that the Tab and Mega are LCD, not AMOLED. LCD has a pale blue hue, whereas AMOLED is much, much more saturated.
You really should compare it to another N900 unit, or an N9005.
As mentioned above, this is a problem that occurs on the Exynos version, but not the Snapdragon.
Thanks
