Unable to browse \Windows folder in WM5?

Hi,
I just wanted to clean up my Start Menu as I always did using my old PPC device, however, the \Windows folder does not show up on my PC when browsing the Mobile Device. Is this correct? How can I access this folder to do some easy re-arranging of files?
Thanks.
I think Total Commander should let you have access to all the files on the Universal.
I am referring to the normal File Explorer on my dekstop PC. When browsing the mobile device, the \Windows folder is not shown. I can access it on the PPC itself, but being able to do so on the desktop PC would make the whole Start-menu-arranging-thing so much easier!
i haven't had any problems accessing the Windows directory from my PC
if it helps - i get it from:
My Computer -> Mobile Device -> My Windows Mobile-Based Device -> Windows
Hi there i am having the same problem i cannot see the windows folder on my pc and i am useing active syncro 4.1 ,so please if you have any solution can you let me know please
I can't see the Windows folder with my work PC but can at home.
If you're syncing to two pcs maybe only the first one lets you see the Windows folder.
In a file explorer window on your PC, go to drop down menu: Tools - Folder Options... - View Tab - select 'Show hidden files and folders' radio button.
This should now allow /windows to be seen by your PC file explorer.
Genius!
Thanks mate

How to change default calendar view?

I would like to change my default calendar view from day to month. Is there a registry setting for this?
No. You can have a shortcut that loads the calendar in a particular view though.

This is a .cab file !
Enjoy
That's a cab to change the softkey to launch the calendar in a different mode btw.

I am new to using Windows Mobile... How do I install this?

Click to collapse
just transfer the file to your handset and use file explorer on the handset to browse to the file and tap on the file once, then it will start installing.
Copy it onto your device.
Use file explorer or a better explorer, find the .cab file, and double click.
.cabs are self installing installation files for this operating system.
If you're ever asked what device you need a cab for, mips, arm etc, choose arm.

After a reboot it works great! Thanks!

"\Network" not visible

Hi all
I try to connect to a Windows Network share.
I succeded to map the share using Resco Explorer and HTC Network Tool, but I can only access the mounted share if I have a program that opens the path directly.
-> I don't see "\Network\..." in any other program, not even in Resco Explorer.
If I try to create a folder in "\" (my root) that is called "Network" I get an error (since it seems to exist).
How can that be? How can I make "\Network\..." visible/accessible?
I'm using a Toshiba G900 device with a custom 6.5.3 ROM...
Thanks for all hints!

[Q] Networked Folders Like Resco

Hi there,
If you are familiar with winmo 6.5 then no doubt that you would have had resco explorer installed and perhaps utilised the network section. What some of may or may not know is that once you created your network links so to speak to your LAN, you could then export that as a proper folder in the normal directory. This was really handy for streaming media files via any media player as you could just go straight to the folder, as it would be in the windows dir.
I wondered if there was some sort of counterpart for android. So far I have used ES file explorer which is great but when trying to play any media type it adopts for its own or tries to download it, which is not what I want. AndroXplorer can creat shortcuts to network folders but the shortcuts cant be moved to the android root dir.
Hope you can understand this, any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome! Thanks again.

[Q] Getting sshfs on a CM10 ROM?

How do I get sshfs (or sshfs-like functionality) on a CM10 ROM? Is there a how-to somewhere? (I have searched, but maybe my Google-fu isn't strong enough)
I'm currently running NexusHD2-JellyBean-4.1.2-CM10 v1.3a on my HD2 (thanks!) and have tested browsing and playing media files stored on a Samba server - this works fine using ES File Explorer and MX Player.
But - my main file server is set up to only export files via ssh (and I want to keep it that way), on other systems I use sshfs to access it.
If not sshfs, is there a file eplorer with built-in sshfs functionality available? (I've tested a few, but they all just seem to have FTP over ssh functionality, not sshfs. I do not want to copy the files to my HD2, just stream them.)
