I am currently running alliance ROM. When I attempt to make a video call thru the dialer it always fails. I have frozen some system apps so does anyone know what services making a video call depends on? Would like to get it working if possible.
anyone? does video call work for anyone?
Same problem
I'm on at&t sgn3 alliancerom, and I have the same issue. But I'm not quite sure as to what the video call would go through? Do I have to link it to a skype/oovoo/tango account or something?

I know the phone doesn't have video call by default. But I've seen other phones with only one camera make video calls, they send the image from the camera behind the phone.
I want to know if that is possible. Using an app, or flashing the ROM, or something.
Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?
No you cant.
I think you can. Try this:

Is it possible to record voice during calling. It seems that Atrix 4G does not support this function, when i use API to record from mic,and get nothing. but
when phone is end, there is sound appears. Could anyone explain the reasons?
Thanks
Plenty of threads about this. Not possible because of privacy issues/laws. If you want to record calls, you need to have your phone on speaker and record with another device.

Sgs2 does it out of the box
Edit: I forgot that I never ran stock on my phone, it was included in a ROM. Apparently call recorder works with stock. Should be a way for you Atrix folks.

From what I understand this is a hardware issue implemented by Motorola because of privacy issues/laws at state and federal levels. I don't believe it's as easy as installing any app to enable this feature.
Of course it may be/is possible on other phones, but different manufacturers have different policies regarding items like this, and Motorola takes a hard line on call recording.
Also, many phones don't route the actual call through the OS by design, so an application running in the OS has no access to the voice module.
You can record calls on Google voice, but when you enable this in call the other person is informed by an automated message that call recording has begun.
Hello,
Before i was running the Acesmod007 version 42. And skype worked fine on it, videos call and everything was alright on it. I could enable video calling easily. However recently i installed the Runnymede 4.0 SE ROM. Since then i cant seem to enable skype videos call on my phone. There is no option to force enable video calls either. Is there any way around this so i could force enable video calls on my phone?
Thanks in advance.
look here, may be you`ll found the solution - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148708&highlight=skype&page=184
v13 doesnt work with Runnymede rom. try v11
I have the TMO variant but I don't think that matters, I've tried various ROM's and I've noticed on some that there is a "call record" button while in a call, directly in the dailer screen. Is this supposed to be part of every ROM or is this something else? The ROM i'm using is for TMO but this feature is not there.
Any help would be appreciated as I am trying to find the BEST way to record both ends of a voice call for an interview I will be conducting.
Stock recording is the best way and it needs enabling to show up. Its a basic feature in most custom roms but as far as I know not in unmodded unless its enabled on some US devices

call recording does not work out of box
you must have a compatible custome kernel to get it worked.
Echoe ROM with Faux kernel has the call recording, the button is there while making a call and I highly doubt the kernel is responsible for that.
I noticed after a few calls that my dialer suddenly has a video calling option that has appeared in the dialer. I personally find it annoying and would like to remove it. I have
disabled HD voice and video calling in the settings and video calling in the dialer settings. Are there any options to remove it and keep it removed?
P.S. I am running stock (rooted) NK2 with safestrap installed.
I'm joining the waiting party as the video calling button costs me 0.70€ per click -.- and its easy to missclick...please, any solutions? Xposed approach maybe? I'm running Superman ROM on S7 G930F rooted.

I don't think there's anyway to remove it currently unless there is some Xposed module that could. Your best bet is to flash custom ROM as I'm on CM13 and the option has disappeared. Which is ironically a problem in my case because my parents are still paying for it lol
