How to back up Titanium APK? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I am trying to figure out how I can back up my titanium back up APK so that if I ever want to flash a rom and don't have access to my data connection (it happens alot...especially at work and where I live) I can just install the titanium backup apk and then pull my app backups from a previous backup...can someone help me with that? Thanks so much

On TB, Click menu button and there is backup option under the batch action. Just choose what you need.

ok, that I figured out, but lets say I install a new rom...where do I go to get the Titanium backup APK? so I can install it, and then restore my backups to the new rom? Thanks so much!!!

With a root explorer go to data/app and copy TB app somewhere on your phone, so next time you can just install it ?

Yes just use dejan sathanas suggestion. Btw if you installed new rom with no wipe, your internal sd card will not be wiped. You can save TB backup apk and after you finished installing new rom you can install TB using samsung file manager.
To save TB backup apk. Go to ES filemanager, click menu and find App manager under tool. Find Titanium backup, long press and select backup button. The backup app should be in sdcard/backup directory.

Thanks People...So easy...I just wasn't sure...that will save me tons of time as well for future rom installations.

I've always done it via TBU>main menu>special features >create update. zip
Flash with new ROM, job done

I backup using Titanium, however, I see the option Backup/Restore, but I don't see the option to Restore? What do you do to Restore? Maybe I am just missing the option when I look at 'MORE'. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Best data/app backup process before new ROM install??

Do you guys and gals mind sharing the best apps to use and way to backup all your data/settings/apps before flashing a new ROM? I heard a lot about Titanium Backup, but somehow my user apps are not listed to backup. So I tried mybackup pro and apps backup and restore. Apps backup and restore works, but its a bit of a pain. Cause the apps install one by one, and I gotta keep pressing install/done for each app. Is there a way to just save one huge file and batch install at once? What way would be the best? I love trying out new ROMs but backing up and resetting my settings is a ***** in a box. Also what's the function of the built in google backup when a rom is first installed?
Mybackup Root works fine, way better than Titanium.
Oh nice! But in what way and is the free version any good?

I use Astro File Manager (which is free). In Settings and then Tools, there is a function called Application Manager/Backup. If you tick the all the apps and then select backup, this will create a proper backup of your apps.
This App Manager/Backup function has 2 advantages, first one is that you can restore all apps directly from within Astro. Second one (this is why I chose Astro) is that these backups are .apk, so in case you don't have Astro, you can just use any other file manager to restore everything.

Nice! Can you mark all apps directly? Does the .apk include data+market link?
EDIT: Can you also restore all apps?

Yep, you can mark each app or all of them...depending what you want. But, the best thing is that every app backed-up is an actual .apk and can be exported to any other Rom.
so it backups data and market link then?

The only thing I miss in it is mount as r/w.
Titanium backup works like a charm too. Go to backup/restore, press settings button and batch. There u can backup userdata + apps, or only one of them. It then backups all in one click. Goes fast and painfree!

Yes for the free version it sadly is, the pro version backups and restore faster and does it all in a batch.

[Q] Titanium Backup doesn't find any backups

Hey guys,
I have a little problem here. Since 4.3 Titanium Backup doesn't find any backups of apps I did on 4.3.
So everytime I backup like Whatsapp, do a factory reset or flash a different ROM and want to flash the backup of Whatsapp through Titanium Backup I can't because Titanium Backup doesn't show it. Even after backupping and rebooting, the backup won't show.
I already tried to change the backup folder and so on but it didn't help

Titanium has been flaky lately with no update for a while.
Preferences go to backup folder location and click select device. Search whole device and select legacy instead of 0 which was the default. Use select folder and click no to moving the backups over as they are really the same place.

After going though the same procedure that noob15 explained, which was a must for upgrading to 4.3, I've had no problems.
If you've made no other changes the default folder for is "TitaniumBackup" located on your mnt/sdcard/, and inside it you should find all your backups.
If you can find no such folder, or if it's empty, you've probably managed to delete the backups.
The joke is that I can find the backups via a file manager or through PC when connected via USB in all these folders. Only Titanium Backup fails to find them
yeah i have the same problem, change the backup folder and doesnt help.

how do i restore with nanoid backup?

Hi,
I backup my system with nandroid using CWMR mode. I save it into my computer, then I wipe down my SD card. If I want to use CWMR to restore that backup, where do I copy the file to so that it will be recognized in recovery mode?
Thank you,

Cwm backups be copied in /data/media/clockworkmod/backups, you can pull the data using "adb pull /data/media/clockworkmod/backups"

Hi,
I already pull the backup.
My question is where do I put them back into the sd card so it will be recognized by CWM in recovery mode. Putting in back in the same folder won't get recognized

In Rom Manager, go to manage and restore backups, from there, there is an option to download your backup, using a browser from your pc

Thank you. Do you happen to use titanium backup?
If I back up app+user data on my current rom, and let say later i do a factory reset and flash to another rom. Will the titanium back up still be there for me to restore later? If so, will I get the same app, and all user date like sms, picture onto my new rom?

Yes, u can restore your app data as long as you don't format your sdcard partition, to be safe, you can just copy the whole TB folder to your pc.
For sms, you will need to restore system data, which is not recommended when changing roms, maybe just select sms and restore from TB.
Pictures will still be available, again, to be safe, just copy everything to your pc, just in case.

Use the “verify backups” option to see if there are errors with the data. If there is, something went wrong during the backup procedure to invalidate it.

Make a new backup of any app and try to restore. If it does, see if the backup of that app is in the same folder where your whatsapp backup is. Just to check the location.
