Ok, so I am considering buying a tablet Z2.
Being a happy owner of the tablet Z I am quite fond of sony bute some aspects got me thiking if this model is worth a shot, conseidering that I have a tablet z already.
As far as I could grasp the tablet Z2 should have almost same performance as my Z1 (phone) on a day to day task basis, as I use the tablet mainly to read ebooks, browse net and open large pdf files from work.
That being said I was wondering how Tablet Z2 would compare to competition such as Galaxy note 2014 and Tab pro 10 as they both have superior resolution than Z2 tab.
Anyway, I am posting here so you could show me aspects mainly on the resolution front.
Thanks in advance!

??? Strange question...
The resolution is the same as on the Tablet Z which you have. So... er... are you satisfied with it or not??
The resolution on some other tablets is higher, yes. Don't you have a shop near you where you can test it?
I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) and a LG G2; the lower resolution of the Tablet Z2 is NOT an issue for me, the difference is really neglegible.
consider buying? heh check this out first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712879&page=2
btw consider testing in a shop and let him bring a fish tank dip the z2 tablet and let the people of sony seller see the real issue from this lame production line. this issue cant be missed by a blind man
Yes, the resolution is lower. But it is still a 1080p display. Not to mention it has the Bravia engine, which makes up most of the difference in my opinion. I have no buyer's remorse, and have not had the loose bezel issue that is mentioned above. For features the z2 is about the same when compared to the note 2014. The edge Sony has is the front facing speakers. Samsung has the stupid pen thing and a bigger battery to support their better display. Samsung also has a sh!tload of bloat ware that noticeably slows the device down. Get the Z2, you'll be a happy camper.

And I say get Note 2014. It is so much better than Z2. I love the pen and the screen on the Note is much better than on Z2.

I'm not sure about this. I have a note 2014 that I am selling to fund my Z2 Tab purchase. Note 2014 - very disappointing. Laggy as all hell.
Yeah the screen resolution is nice, as is the s-pen. But a very disappointing experience. Can't wait to get rid of it.
I'd suggest you try out both for yourself first though. The Note 2014 is quite heavy and uncomfortable to hold - just my experience.

Indeed, I havent actually tried the Z2 out. But going by all reviews so far it will be nicer to hold.
if you have the
If you have a Z1 tablet already Im not sure its worth buying the Z2. Its virtually the same. If you didnt have either of them before then I would say pay the extra to get the Z2 but its not worth upgrading if you already have the Z1. No point getting a Note either, its all more of the same unless you are that desperate ffor a higher resolution screen.
The new Nvidia and Snapdragon chips come out soon. New tablets wont be far behind. Keep your Z1 for a bit longer and wait for the nextgen tablets to come out.
I'm in the same boat. I have a 2013 Nexus 7 and the screen sensitivity (or lack of it) is driving me crazy. I just want to throw this crap out the window and get something that's solid and works.

A late reply but if thats your criteria I wouldnt bother with the Tablet Z2 cause alot of people, myself included, have trouble with touch sensitivity. But I guess you already know that. Hopefully Sony will fix it tho!

I've been looking for a tablet since the start of the year and as a Z phone owner was looking forward to the tablet Z. However when it came out I was extremely disappointed with its screen and general performance and returned it straight away.
With the ipad 5 due in a few weeks, Sony should have also had the Z1 equivalent tablet ready. The screen res needs to double and the processing power needs to be of snapdragon 800 or better. The skeleton also needs the aluminium type as found on the Z1 phone to give it more of a quality feel.
Imo, the current tablet Z is dead given the upcoming ipad 5, Note 10 and Nexus 10.
Thanks! Nothing to see here... Move along now.

Seriously? The resolution needs to double? 3840x2400 is your minimum resolution? Lol. That's pretty insane, since the competitors won't even be that high. Since most people will tell you that it's not easy to distinguish between 1920x1200 and 2560x1600. I won't disagree that higher can be better...but when you start making that large of a jump, 2x from 800x600 is no comparison to doubling 1920x1200. That's SO much more data. Most of the lagging issues the original N10 experienced was due to that significantly higher resolution. The performance difference between a SnapDragon 800 driving a 1920 vs a 3840 display would be dramatic.
Plus, the casing of the current model is pretty darn good. Most reviews would rank it higher than it's competitors easily. I'm not saying it couldn't be better...but solid aluminum? You realize a small phone vs a 10" tablet is a big weight difference if you use aluminum lol.
For regular use, the S4 Pro isn't all that much slower than a SnapDragon 800. Not for most applications.
I'm sure they'll come out with something faster eventually. But I don't see Sony needing to rush it. Their tablet has a few perks over the others. A generally well regarded build quality. Extremely slim compared to all the current competitors(even the Samsung GNote 10.1 2014 is thicker). Has a thin overlay on Android. Generally considered to have "decent" sound(although not as good as others...but let's all admit built-in speakers on a tablet will never be spectactular). So...I don't see how you think it has to do all the stuff you're claiming. Plus it's water resistant/dust resistant. Which none of the others are. So...Sony could leave it be for a while I think. I've seen them selling the wifi on major resellers for $460 range. If the new ones start around $500 and up, it'll be priced competitively for a while. They could release a new model early next year and just do some markdowns around christmas time. It'd still be plenty relevant.
I'm all for seeing what the Nexus 10 (2) brings, but the Note 10.1 2014 is only the same res as the last nexus 10, so I doubt resolution will increase. Hopefully they'll just concentrate on better performance, since driving that high of a res is way more taxing.
I meant a resolution similar to the Nexus 10 ie one where you can't see individual pixels. 1920x1200 i.e1080p resolution is good for small phone screens but still poor for 10+ inch tablets.
I really wanted a Tablet Z and could have bought one for half price with my recent Z1 phone purchase but even at half price it isnt good enough. Would rather buy a new nexus 10 (if it is as good as the Nexus 7), or an ipad 5.
I have the Z and Z1 phones so a tablet Z would have been ideal for the collection.
Sony rushed the tablet Z just like they rushed the Z phone. The Z1 is almost perfect and deals with nearly all the issues with the Z phone. I am hoping a similar thing will happen to the tablet Z. However given that the ipad 5 will likely be released in October then Sony will be late to the party regardless of what specs they bring.
Aluminum? Seriously? Why? Anyone who has really used the Tablet Z knows that it's one of it's STRENGTHS that it has this grippy plastic back! Much safer and more comfortably to hold than slippery aluminum.

I've seen lots of discussion comparing with the various iPads, but not much discussion on the Sony Xperia. I was pretty much sold on the Note originally as I LOVE my S3 phone, but I must admit I do see the reason behind all the negative Samsung reactions in terms of bloatware. Man do they put a bunch of junk on there! Luckily I have my S3 rooted and have successfully turned off bunches of bloat, and the phone is now massively faster . . . . . even on the stock ROM.
The more I play with the Xperia and read the reviews, the more I like it. The biggest 2 drawbacks in comparison are (1) lower screen resolution and (2) no S-pen. Neither one of those are deal brakers for me, but they do factor into the overall decision.
So, I know I'll get lots of pro-Samsung comments given the forum I'm in, but I'd like some honest feedback. Has anyone had lots of time with both tabs that can give some user level insight as to which way they would recommend? I have no doubt both are quality devices. Just trying to make a smart spend with my hard earned $. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance.

P.S. The new Kindle HDX is sneaking into the discussion, too. It has a *whopper* of a set of specs at a great price point. Root and install a well-built custom ROM, and maybe it kills all of them??

I love the resolution and feel of the 10.1 2014 but hate lack of root (0x0) and the physical button. S-Pen is a must for me or I would probably just go with the upcoming Nexus 10 refresh.
I really just wanted to say.....GO VOLS
Are you saying root and custom Roms won't be possible on the 2014? THAT would be a deal breaker for sure! Haven't looked much at the N10, but I guess I should. When is refresh product due out?
And on the Big Orange, I firmly believe Butch is the man to get it done. Our true freshmen have shown some "sparks" here and there. Just don't have the exp or conditioning to bring it for 60 solid minutes. I remain big time optimistic we are finally headed back up. Goodness knows we mist definitely bottomed out over the last few seasons. Wow.

The Xperia Tab Z was my first choice was as I have an Xperia Z1 phone, however I ended up returning the XTZ after a couple of days and getting the new Note 10.1.
The biggest issue with the XTZ for me was the video playback quality. When viewing 1080p movies it seemed to be dropping frames, and as well Netflix and Youtube playback was no where close to my iPad. I didn't want a situation where I was only able to use the tablet for some things and then had to go back to using my iPad for watching movies or reading ebooks. There is also the issue of the Bravia engine on the XTZ which seemed to be putting too much contrast and sharpening into all of the videos and images. I can understand why they are using Bravia as it does give the illusion of a slightly higher resolution display, but it's no where near iPad quality.
The XTZ is a great tablet though, and if the Note 10.1 didn't exist it would be the Android king without a doubt.
The best thing for me about the Note 10.1 is that it is capable of doing everything with pretty much state of the art quality. I've had a few jaw dropping moments with it where the display truly give the illusion of looking through a window. It's fantastic for video playback.
It's been a long time coming to finally get an Android tablet that matches or exceeds the iPad and I'm so far pretty thrilled with my 10.1.

What are your comments on the bloatware and all the built-in Samsung apps? Did you delete or disable a bunch of those? And I doubt I'll be doing much movie watching on the tab, but I do like to play some of the higher end games every now & then. Currently read a lot of e-books on a rooted Nook Tablet, but hoping the new device will ultimately replace that as well. And I agree that one of your obvious goals is one of mine. Use 1 tablet for pretty much everything outside of phone & texting with my S3.
I also remember now why I punted the Nexus . . . . . no SD card. That plus constantly changing connectors plus the "do it our way or not at all" mentaility is the main reason I moved away from Apple products. I used iPhones up through the 4 models, and then made the Android switch. Haven't looked back on that particular decision!

Truth. The display is the best I've ever seen on a tablet. At full brightness it's absolutely incredible. The functionality of the SPen was the main draw for me with this tablet though. If you're a student or work in a setting that demands a lot of note taking then this tablet is the way to go. If I didn't need these functions, I would have waited for the new Nexus 10, which I'm sure will be superb as well. The ability to use this tablet as a virtual notebook for all of my classes made this the right choice for me though, even though it was quite expensive.
I currently own both of these tablets Samsung better screen better speakers and its faster I would go with the Samsung myself but the Sony is a nice tablet I have it running pacman ROM and it is very smooth
I am going to China on the weekend and was actually thinking of returning my samsung taking the Sony with me and then trying to find the 10.1 LTE version in Hong Kong on my way home so on a side note does anyone know how much the LTE version will cost in Hong Kong and a good place to buy it thanks

I loved my Z while I had it. My only complaint was that bad boy was a fingerprint magnet. I haven't yet tried a Note 10.1 2014 because there is no development for it or the Note 3.

So far all I have done is install Nova Launcher and turn down the animations to 0.5 in the developer settings. This makes it more than fast enough for me and I am not going to root or flash until we get a look at more finalized OTA firmwares. I know there are a lot of early reviewers that say this tablet lags, but since the first OTA update it has been running as quickly as one would expect it to.
I'm completely thrilled with this tablet, I can finally get rid of my IPad.
I've had the chance to own both for a while and there's pros and cons to each. The xperia was light, quick enough, NFC, DLNA, etc. Screen was good for movie watching. Expandable memory. Water proof. And it seemed less bloated although it really does have a crap load of Sony stuff on there. On the flipside, as one user said, it was a finger print magnet. It also felt extra long in portrait mode. Luckily it's a light tablet so it's not super uncomfortable but it does create a weird experience in portrait. Also, being a snapdragon s4 chipset, it's significantly slower during intense operations or even if you put a live wallpaper like ditalix live wallpaper on it.
The note has all the specs necessary, minus NFC. S pen is great just like my note 3. Screen in gorgeous. Relatively light in the hands. But again, as another user mentioned, the physical button is quite annoying in portrait mode and for a tablet so expensive, there should be no stuttering. Rooting is a fix for that though.
Although, neither was meant for portrait use, Web browsing feels more natural in portrait mode, much like the ipad. I still own both tablet, along side the ipad air. Note 10.1 2014 is my productivity beast at work and I travel with it. The xperia is my wife's favorite because she can read in the pool with it without a care, and takes it to the beach. The ipad is my favorite at home. Perfect for browsing the Web, chromecasting content, watching videos in bed, reading magazines, etc. Although, the note can do those things perfectly fine, it just doesn't have the same feel as the ipad for me when I'm in lazy mode.
Basically, if you u spend a lot of time outside with the tablet, xperia. If you need productivity first, note. If you want an all around great experience without all the bells and whistles, ipad.

To echo this, I would go into Best Buy to play with the tablets all the time, coming closer and closer to pulling the trigger to purchasing but stopping. When I read the specs of this tablet, I had to bite and I've been rewarded immensely for my purchase. I've had those jaw dropping moments as well. I ask it to do so much and it's almost like it's mocking me, tackling everything I throw at it with ease.
Between the Note and the Xperia, it all comes down to the screen. The Note wins, hands down.
I do like the whole waterproof thing, and it's a touch lighter than the Note. But the large bezels really make it feel clunky and less weildy in landscape mode. Samsung's decision to trim the bezels really pays off in usability. It feels closer to the iPad in portrait mode even though it's still the same 16:10 screen.
BTW, another area where the Note wins hands down is reading comic books. It's the closest thing to the printed page. I am awed by how great comic books look on the Note, even though the pages are less resolution than the screen itself.
I was looking at buying the xperia but decided to wait for this to come out. I tried both of them in a shop and the xperia was too bezzly for me and the screen of the Note was unreal. Anyways I just got my Note about an hour ago and the screen alone makes this awesome.
I have had a Xperia Tablet Z since it was released and its very nice. My wife loves it as well. The thing that is nice is that its extremely fast and has no lag. I am very impressed with the build quality, and battery life as well. I am not a fan of the case I have on it because it is a el cheapo leather case that is not that impressive. That doesn't detract from how happy I am with this tablet.
I am going to get a Note 10.1 2014 through work in the next week or so. When that comes in, I will give my wife the Xperia since she loves it. I think the Note 10.1 is going to be better for what I do than the Xperia. I am most worried about lag or response time with this device. I am going to use Nova launcher for sure, and root the device if possible.
One area where the Note beats the Xperia hands down is remote desktop. The MS app defaults to 1280 x 800 on the Note and is very fast. It defaults to 1980 x 1200 on the Xperia and chugs along with lots of tiling with tiny touch targets. The SPen allows you to hit touch targets too small for your finger and allows you to hover over links and menus. It's a fantastic rdp implementation on the Note but almost unusable on the Xperia.

Well. The z3 looks very nice is thinner than the z2 and also lighter. That's the major difference. Design. Software and camera is almost identical as performance too. Display on the z3 I think is slightly better but not 100% sure. The z2 display is good too. Camera is the same thing. With a two or three new features mostly the downloadable apps for the camera. Battery it is better on the z3 the z2 is not bad. So I decided to sell it. I might get the z3 compact I don't think is worth it unless u love the design and the ps4 feature. Which is not out yet. Grrrr I couldn't test that.

Agree! Small update over Z2. With 4.4.4 Z2's battery performace will be as good as Z3.
And if Z2 gets good update to 4.4.4 (at it definitely will), differences will be even harder to see
But, as we said few times already - Z3 isn't here for Z2 users.
It's aiming to Z and Z1 users...
The fact that both devices are mirror images of themselves was known the day the specs of the z3 got confirmed.
Most of the differences are software based and that will narrow significantly once the z2 gets updated.

Yh. Is quite a margin i must confess. Tempting really. But here in West Africa, when a newer device comes the older one gets a HUGE price drop and resale value is almost nothing. Well. Speaking from my own point of view. I resell my devices. But anyways, i was never gonna upgrade to the Z3 anyways.. Even Z4 not sure, i want to see what M9 looks like. I think i prefer my devices stay a flagship for a whole year

I'll second that. I'm no fan of Sony's 6 month nonsense either. It's got me thinking of trying the s6 next year. Don't trust htc on the camera front. Their phones have never had good cameras and that's even before ultrapixels bull****

Lol. Exactly why I want to see what they have to offer really... But Z4 might be good tho. Oh well... Only time will tell

I wouldn't really say dats a good thing. Z2 price will drop. If I was going to buy a phone right now, I will be getting the Z3. But as I have the Z2 now, NO!

Funny you should say that. I've just bought a new Z2, primarily because the phones were so similar and the Z2 was cheaper. I didn't see any reason to go for the Z3 other than better battery life.
The Z3 has remote play and such like, but that WILL come to the Z2, either by Sony themselves or by some talented individual on these very forums.
I also like the styling of the Z2 better. The Z3 looks too much like the new iphone for my tastes.
Battery life isn't an issue for me because my phone is plugged in every night anyway.
And anyway, it's only six months wait till the Z4.....
Quick Edit - I see by your signature that you have unlocked your bootloader. Have you seen any difference in the Camera or other DRM protected apps since you did it? Also, I take it you backed up your TA? Was it easy to do?

Unlcoked bootloader, didn't backup TA. Camera is better than HTC M8, I'm not a photographer. So I'm living Happily ever after.
hehehe saved my pocket too! Will stay on Z2 until Z5 which most probably will be a copy of Z4

There is definitely a difference in picture quality, especially in low light pictures. Backing up the Ta partition is easy though. You just need to root first. Can restore at any time.
I was scared to get the z2 in July not knowing what the z3/next version would be like. I'm glad to hear I didn't make a totally horrible decision.
Does it really give you 2 days battery life?

Hmm, i disagree. The differences are noticeable, but not enough to get envious of Z3 owners. Source: Wife has one and I set it up for her.
4.4.4 will address the differences in the software. Flashlight on quick settings, many more headphones listed in audio, etc
The screen is brighter and whiter, with precisely the same Nova settings on wife's z3 and my z2, hers is noticeably quicker and responsive - I'd say 10% quicker.
I have to say, I am jealous of the build quality - the covers on the side are recessed a little, so removing the phone from a pouch doesn't dislodge them occasionally.
Once 4.4.4 comes along, I'll be very happy. I bought some STH30 earphones and was disappointed that my z2 doesn't list them. Wife's z3 audio is much clearer than mine with the same headphones. Software no doubt, but she has the STH30 phones listed and it makes the difference somewhere.
The phones are different. In a lot of ways.

Z2 and Z3 battery is different too. We both always get 7hrs screen on time, but wife plays *a lot* of games.
Last time we both compared, I was impressed with my 8hrs screen on time (6% batt left) and she was 10% battery up and at 8hrs46 screen on time. Not sure what she did with it those 2 days uptime though, but gaming in there no doubt.
Hope we get the z3 battery algorithms in 4.4.4!
I can't get 8 hours screen on time because if my screen is on, I'm transmitting data. I use my phone only for phone calls or chatting (sending pictures, videos, taking pictures and sharing them, etc). I get about 5-6 hours of screen on time which is just FANTASTIC in my opinion! I'm on the Z2 by the way.
Retiring my Tab Z and moving on to a Tablet S 10.5...
:crying: She has been a faithful tablet but she is at the end of her supported life. wanted to go with a Z4 but the price was a bit much.
I got a great Deal with the Tab S 10.5 and the Specs are far superior to my Z so it was stupid to pass it up, plus she gets Marshmallow when it arrives...Something the old Z does not..
I will still be a follower in the xda forums just at a different device location..
Will miss my tab Z but as we know life goes on...

There will be custom ROMs like CM based on MM for TabZ.
That is true...
However other issues were taken into consideration..
I have lots of Media content from Vudu that sadly is not supported for my Tab Z, only SD download .
And with the price I got for my Z along with the great Deal from Samsung it was a wash on the upgrade...
I really was leaning toward the Z4 but as money is tight and considering the deal I got its a no brainer..
I will whole heartedly endorse anyone to purchase a Sony tablet because in my experience they are top notch...

I really doubt the Tab S is going to get Marshmallow. Forget official, I'm even doubtful about CM13
Its already been confirmed by Samsung for an April release....
Got the tablet Yesterday and have to say the screen on this tablet is simply amazing compared to the Tab Z..
Will do more testing but for now I am very happy...
I also got a Tab S 10.5 and I can tell it's a better tablet: better screen, faster, a bit lighter, smaller bezels. It’s also a newer generation mind you so the comparison may not be entirely fair.
What I mostly disliked about the Z tablet and also about my ZL phone is the screen with its poor viewing angles.
I did not decide to sell the Z tablet though but give it to my wife who is now a happy camper
CM 13 is the Xperia Tablet Z, I go chappa_a Resurrection Remix is in the form of a test , but all of this is beyond the call , but I'm working on it

But its not waterproof... sooo... here i have two things, an Orange and a Banana, see how much better the Banana is? No I think not!:cyclops:
Allow me to chime in my 2 cents, I think the Xperia Tablet Z is still a worthy contender to this day! It has a faster wifi chipset than an iPad 3, its waterproof and it runs kodi and Xposed beautifully. It also has some great open source stuff happening here on XDA. Why would I upgrade? To take advantage of the latest and greatest graphical freemium games on the playstore? haha, i think hmmmm, never!
Everything is in the title, really!
I've been toying with the idea of keeping my Z3 and getting a tablet, before realising that I'd never actually USE a tablet. As a result, I've come to the conclusion that I should just get a slightly bigger phone and meet my demands half way.
I've always liked the Nexus phones, previously had a Nexus 5 that I loved, despite the not-so-great battery life. I went for the Z3 after my wife got the Z1 compact, just because of the battery life, and I've not been disappointed. I always get two days battery life in normal use, and around six hours screen time consistently.
However, the Nexus 6P has definitely caught my attention. The screen size is pretty much what I'm looking for, the battery size appears to be pretty much the same, and of course it looks lovely!
So, my question, Nexus 6P owners, is it worth changing, based on my needs, or do I stick to what I have? I've heard the battery life isn't quite as good as what I'm used to!

Why not get a Z5 Premium? You would most likely get better battery life, camera and build quality all in a package that you are already used to with a bigger screen. Seems like a win-win to me.
I had a Z3 (which I do miss). The Nexus 6P is better in terms of updates, camera, speed, speakers, fingerprint scanner and ROMs/development if you're into that. Also, I get better cell reception with the 6P too, which could be due to band 12. The battery on the Z3 is better, but I have no problems getting through the day with my 6P, plus you have quick charging, so that's a plus.

Weirdly, from what I've read on a few different sites now, the only thing that seems to be premium about the Z5 Premium is the price!

I just miss the size sometimes, the overall feel, waterproof, dedicated camera button, and how bright the screen gets. The software on the Z3 isn't bad at all either.

It definitely is a nice phone. I really do find it interesting that despite the 6P being pretty superior in most regards, you still miss little things about the Z3!
I know the gold 6P is currently on sale in the UK, but I don't know if I could honestly drop the battery life in favour of the other things, despite the differences being fairly substantial!

I would wait and see what the Marshmallow update brings to the Z3.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I had the T Mobile Z3, which was better than the others but lagged with updates. The 6p is a better phone in many ways, but I miss the size, water resistance, battery life, and noise canceling of the Z3. I'd probably still have the Z3 if it was getting updates.
I have heard good things about the Marshmallow concept, so perhaps as you've both said, its worth hanging on until the update is released to see if I want to stick with it.
Thanks for the opinions and thoughts though, guys. Much appreciated.

At this point in time, I would wait. Then get the HTC M10. I really wish I'd waited, I had the understanding that it was going to be a mediatek chipset. How wrong was I, big battery, water proof, sd820, 32GB with ext SD, decent camera (hopefully) and those boom sound speakers.
This is kind of make or break for HTC , I think its going to be a beast. Development will be superb too as it always is with flagship HTC devices.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the 6P its a stellar device but I'd have waited for the M10 If I'd have known.
Have had a few Sony devices and I find them a bit boring. On paper they're great but they're just not for me. My mate has the Z5 which he loves but its exactly the same as the older devices going back to the z1.
I like their tablets though
PS: my apologies, the size might not be what you need. Unless they release a plus version?
Tablets are a funny sort, you don't think you'll use them but then do once you have one. Everything looks great on a tablet, HD games (made for tablet) movies, web browsing.. Coupled with a fold away keyboard you'd be forgiven for thinking you werent using a laptop.
I use citrix with work and on my prime with keyboard and touchpad it looks amazing.
Your choice mate.

I do like HTC phones, the last one I had was the One X, and apart from the (quite frankly) terrible battery, it was a really nice phone! I know a couple of people with the M9, and it is a nice phone. I do prefer Android more stock though, Sense is quite heavily modified compared to some other manufacturers.
I had a Samsung S3 too, that was also nice, but I really hate Touchwiz.
There's something really nice about stock!
Thanks for that though, I'll have a look at the M10 when that's released. I'm sure I'll find the sweet spot sooner or later. I did have a tablet (Microsoft Surface), but just never turned it on. Didn't see the point when I had a phone that did the same but on a smaller screen!

Why not just get the HTC nexus tablet then?
Also with OEM launchers / interfaces, sense for me is the best, its very well made and vanilla android always comes to HTC devices (I like to have the choice or I get bored)
Good luck all the same
