Hi Awesome People,
I am currently running Slim-4.4.2.build.4.6-WEEKLY-3823 on my SM-n9005 and I've enabled the NavBar and disabled (or rather re-assigned the capacitive buttons to none) but I can't for the live of me seem to find a way (NOTE 3 compatible) to disable the capacitive button lights.
I can flash custom roms and etc (duh) but I am by no means a developer. And after some looking around I managed to find that if I rename the file "lights.MSM8974.so" (/system/lib/hw) to something like "lights.MSM8974.so.bkp" it will disable the lights but then auto screen brightness doesn't work. So the solution should be in that file, right?
So can anyone help me with disabling only the capacitive button lights? Or can I do a workaround in the build.prop file?
Thanks in advance!
You are overthinking it...

Thanks I've seen that solution...Except I'm running SlimKat (AOSP), that option is not there.
Neither under Setting -> Advanced Options -> Device
I've even looked for an Xposed Module and have no luck there.
Xposed module- Gravity Box*:
*if your rom's KitKat based, you'll need Gravity Box(KK).

Don't thank me, I'm useless

Recently I updated to WM 6.1, so I have to reconfigure my device. Now I can't remember where I can turn off the menu with the big icons depicted at the bottom of my post. I find it really annoying to have an extra window pop up, since most of the time I click the right icon and don't need bigger ones.
I've already gone through all of the settings, but can't find the option to turn it off, though I know it's possible to! Any help is appreciated, I'm sure someone knows.

If you have large start menu enabled then this is also part of it. I don't know if you can turn it off individually.
It can be disabled by deleting few keys in registry.
1)HKLM/Software/HTC/EnlargeTitleBar (Or something like that)
2)HKLM/Services/Largetitlebat (Or something like that)

That's isn't be that I need, I need to change the default color without any interface modification, that I wan't to do is modify any xml that contan the default color.... but my problem is that I don't where and what is that xml....
i think you should change the default colour on the menu thro it's code... not in the systemui... i think so
Settings > Cyanogenmod Settings > Interface > Notification power widget > Indicator color

I believe he's putting a pre-customized ROM together and would like to change what the initial color is.
I've been trying to do the same thing with no luck finding the code for it
Hi all~
I was using Allwinner A10 tablet before + custom rom and the ROM offer few handy things:
1) On the notification bar of wifi, I can immediately turn on or off the wifi instead of requiring to jump to SETTING
2) Want to add bluetooth notification bar as well
3) Long press power button can select reboot or screen capture as well
4) anyway I can add file association to .pdb => iSilo? By now ES explorer knows .pdb is ebooks but when I click it, it will said no program can open it...
Thanks a lot!

For stock? You could use extended controls, Widgetsoid, or notification toggles. (Apps in tve play store) As for the file part I have no clue.

Most of those are built into Cyanogenmod
You can add notification toggles to the stock ROM with widgetsoid; this video shows how to do it:
http://youtu.be/_GCiEqB5How?t=5m17s
so there is no way to add that button on the built in notification bar? must need a 3rd party widget? ('cause I changed to use tablet UI by altering the lcd.density so normal widget looks odd~ )
Thanks a lot!~
I have a Nokia 6.1 Plus with Android 9.0, October security patch.
I am not able to turn off ambient display. It is set to always on and there is no option to disable it.

I have once faced this trouble, the only way is to factory reset/wipe and set as new phone again. I did it through both the safe mode and recovery mode. Now all work flawlessly on Pie with November patch.
I actually figured it out. The setting is there inside the system UI tuner.

The system ui tuner is hidden by default, how did you invoke it?
If you're using Nova launcher, go to widgets.
There will be an option to add an activity as a widget. On selecting, it will show a list of activities. In that go to System UI > System UI Demo Mode.
It's mostly useless now. I was just checking it earlier. Maybe I had accidentally toggled the ambient display setting.
Hello,
in my tab a t590 (2018) with Oreo 8.1, there isn't blue light filter option. I have looked for it under display preference but nothing there.
In the drop down menu, in the action bar, when I keep pressed any icon suddenly it is opened a new window to adjust the preference, except with blue light filter, when I keep pressed the option, nothing happens.
I can activate the blue light filter in the drop down menu, but that's all. I can't adjust its options.
Is this normal?
Thank you.
Excuse me for my English.
It seems that in this review the user had a blue-light filter setting, but my 2018 Tab A doesn't have the option (XSA aka Australia region) at all.
Just installed the latest UK firmware (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-a/SM-T590/BTU/download/T590XXU2ARK2/247142/), and I can confirm I now have a blue light filter! Huzzah! However, I can't seem to change its color temperature as with my S8, seems like it's stuck on the one level.
After following the instructions on a reddit post for the S9 (https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS9/comments/95oksy/heres_how_to_make_the_systems_blue_light_filter/), using the Nova launcher, you're indeed able to access Night Light settings and change intensity/schedule (and you don't have to commit to the Nova launcher either!). After following that I now have this as a shortcut to access Night Light settings whenever I use the Nova launcher:

So, for what you are saying, it's normal, isn't it?
Thank you for your replies.
