Naturally, root procedures aren’t always flaw free. For starters, rooting the Galaxy S5 will void the phone’s warranty, and SamMobile says it will also break Knox warranty and increase the flash counter. Moreover, after the root Private Mode seems to be disabled, and users are advised to make sure they flash the appropriate firmware on their devices in order not to brick the device.

but is there any method of install custom recovery without changing knox status
and what are other disadvantages of knox 0x1 except warranty, as my phone doesnt have local warranty
You can't install a custom recovery or custom kernel without tripping knox.
Knox is not necessarily for warranty but rather for the knox "app" on your phone. Knox is like having two phones in one. If you run the knox app you will see a separate android environment that is considered secure and you can install apps etc in there. People use this knox environment with their work email etc. Typically, if you use your phone and leave a company for example, they will remotely wipe your phone. In this case, only the Knox partition is wiped and your personal phone side remains untouched.
Tripping Knox tells people that Knox's security is not guaranteed anymore and Knox ceases to function on that phone.
If you've never used knox and don't have a need for it, tripping it won't harm you.
Another alternative is safe strap. This lets you use something that looks nearly identical to a custom recovery (with similar functions), but it was created for phones that can't write over their recovery partition. The AT&T and Verizon US phones have a version that works well. The AT&T safestrap works on the T-Mobile Note 3 and might work on your version. Research it and see if it works for you.

I had rooted my Galaxy S4 (i9505), 4.4.2, without triggering the Knox Flag, using CF-Auto-Root, via Odin. The Flash Counter is now 1, due to flashing something, but Knox is 0x0. Flash counter can be reseted by using Triangle Away,

Not included - Triangle Away - ! NOT OPERATIONAL ON THE GT-I9500 !
Triangle Away can be used to reset the flash counter after installing CF-Root. The flash counter keeps track of how many custom firmwares you have flashed, as this voids warranty. (No idea what this about ? Read up on it, you will want to use this !)

Bear in mind, that I am not 100% sure that it will work on ALL Galaxy S4 devices (I mean not trigger it).
Also bear in mind that OTA (Over the air update) will NOT work, it will return the message "Phone was been personalized."
Although, Kies sees it. Also make sure you don't have Knox mode activated or installed.

I see that Triangle Away is only for the Qualcomm Galaxy S4 (9505). That means that you can't, at this moment, reset the flash counter. There are basically two things to worry about:
- Knox Flag -> as which seems so, I avoided it by installing that CF-Auto-Root on my 9505. I am not sure about avoiding it on 9500, but it should work.
- Flash Counter -> it raises everything you flash something via download mode. If it's 0, in Settings > About Phone > Status >Phone Status, it will return "Original" or something. If it's anything else than 0 (like 1, which I currently have cause I re-flashed root due to some tiny problem), it will return "personalized" or something like it. That will still void warranty IF the phone is sent to warranty like that, but will NOT trigger Knox. Also that will stop OTA Updates from working, but Kies updates will work (for some reason, samsung bug, use it ).
I have no idea how to help you regarding that Flash Counter on the 9500.

Q: Will I lose guarantee?
A: It depends on the region of the world you are in. For example, in the United States, purchasing a Straight Talk phone from Wal*Mart and rooting it will void Straight Talk's warranty on the device. In the EU, I believe there is a directive that specifies that the warranty is NOT voided unless it can be conclusively proven that rooting the device is what damaged that device. The device may not have a warranty at all if it was purchased in one country for use in a completely different country, e.g. a European 9505 purchased for use in the US.
Q: Can smthin [sic] went wrong?
A: There are always risks involved when attempting to modify system firmware. Most of the time the rooting procedure will work without problems, but anything can happen, up to and including a hard brick of the device, which will turn it into a nice, shiny, expensive paperweight. Losing sound and/or WiFi, as in your last question, is one of those things that can go wrong.
Q: How to not trigger that sh-t?
A: Knox? Don't install a custom recovery. Installing a custom ROM is possible using Odin as shown here. However, since you don't wish to install a custom recovery and/or a custom ROM, you should have no problems with Knox.

This is my first Samsung device, the Galaxy S7 Edge Dual sim (SM-G935FD) bought from UAE.
I used to install TWRP and root every android phone I had before, so I am still not sure whether to root this one. I already have the files required for rooting, but I noticed that there are 2 ways of rooting:
1. Using Odin to install TWRP and then from there install SuperSU.
2. CF-Auto-Root.
What is/are the difference(s) in both methods?
My other question is: I read that rooting will trip Knox, and there is NO WAY to get it back to normal even flashing the original ROM. Is that the case?
One last thing, I am now stuck in the download mode (turned off the phone, pressed "Volume down", "Home" and "Power"), I did that just to check the info on the top left (model and warranty void...) but I cannot seem to restart the phone even by pressing the power button for more than 20 seconds, how can I turn the phone off then back on?

Regarding my last question (stuck in Download mode), pressing the same combination got me back to start the phone normally
Cf-AutoRoot will root your phone but then you will have to put your recovery on also usually flashed with Odin anyway or an app if it's working for the Galaxy S7... Twrp plus superuser will root and you'll have the recovery installed.... They both will trip your official (0x0) knox and make it (0x1) custom.... You can always go back to stock rom and get OTA updates but your knox will remain at 0x1......this is supposed to void the warranty but depending on where you live it won't make a difference.... Also if you want to flash roms and mods and kernels just use the twrp method and if you just want root and to be able to use root permission apps use the Cf-AutoRoot.... As of right now I haven't rooted because there aren't to many Roms available... I'm sure I will cause I miss titanium backup and the ability to get rid of all the bloat ware (especially Facebook & Microsoft ****).... The phone runs great without root and battery is excellent.... The last reason I was waiting was Samsung pay won't work with tripped Knox counter.... I live in the US but have the international 935F... So it doesn't look like this variant will support Pay anytime soon.... Probably gonna root when development picks up a little....
*edit*... Always have a stock rom just in case saved to your computer just in case... That would of saved me lots of freak outs and headaches years ago... Now it's the first thing I do before Rooting or flashing anything to my phone

I made a research yesterday on Knox (as I said, this is my first Samsung device), and I just wanted to make sure that I understood things properly.
So now after reading, tripping Knox will disable Samsung Pay (I do not have it in my country) so that is not going to make any difference. But, what about paying using the fingerprint sensor in Google Play, will it stop working if Knox is tripped? I also use the fingerprint sensor to login to my mobile banking app (instead of typing the password every time I want to login), will that stop too? I guess not but again just to be sure.

I know when I rooted my S6 all the fingerprint stuff still worked so I dont think it will make a difference... Im not sure with the S7 edge but I would think it would still work cause all of those require a typed password before you use your fingerprint(1st setup only) Then use your fingerprint there after... .. Doesn't have anything to do with Knox

Got my S7 yesterday, played around with root, and decided to go with a stock experience for the time being so I can use Samsung Pay and MST (blasphemous, I know). I used ODIN to restore back to stock, verified KNOX counter wasn't tripped, and went on setting everything up.
I installed Samsung Pay and launched, only to run into the access denied message you would see if you were attempting to open it with a rooted device. Any thoughts as to what could be happening?

I would make sure you followed the return to stock instructions in psouza4 thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039). I flashed through odin yestererday and took the pf2 update that was available when I was done. I am able to install and access Samsung pay. What all did you flash in ODIN?

Resolved! Actually, it was my strict adherence to the instructions that led to the issue - the instructions only tell you to flash AP, CP, and CSC back down to PE1. Which was fine and dandy, but my BL remained at PF2, which is the reason why I had issues loading Samsung Pay. I was afraid that I had either tripped the mythical physical e-fuse somehow, or my phone was blacklisted from Samsung Pay servers - fortunately this was not the case! Once I updated everything back to PF2, Samsung Pay was able to load.

Sorry but there's no method at this time to reset Knox back to 0x0. The method of root that was posted here wouldn't trip Knox which is why when flashing back to stock they are able to use Samsung Pay again.
how to trip that knox again? and how to check knox state? I had installed stock samsung s7 edge India ROM latest but now smart tutor apps is gone (that i intalled from playstore) and samsung pay is not working
