Hello everyone,
So I have flashed every GPE rom I can find and every time I get no signal upon reboot. I go into settings and search for a carrier and Rogers shows up I click it and boom I have connection, shortly after I go back to No Service again. I have tried flashing a modem but no result
I have tried these roms...

All with CWM, Wipe, Flash, Reboot
I just don't know where to go with this... I was on Jellybean touchwiz before trying these kitkat roms, could it be that I have to upgrade to Kitkat touchwiz then to GPE?
Thanks all
EDIT!
To fix this problem do the following
1. Flash Modem with Auto-Reboot off, when it says "PASS" unplug battery
2. Flash Modem again
3. Reflash Rom(GPE in my case)
4. PROFIT!

I'm currently using the Omega v10 ROM but I would like to go back to completely stock. I also flashed a new modem bc the wifi didn't work when I installed the custom ROM. How should I start? Should I use Triangle away first, reset the counter and after that flash the stock firmware? I'm using an UK unbranded GT-I9505 and downloading this stock firmware file for it:
United Kingdom BTU (July 2013)
PDA: I9505XXUBMGA
CSC: I9505OXXBMG3
Version 4.2.2
When should I flash the modem and where can I find it? Also, how can I go to download mode directly after reseting the counter?
Thanks :}
I usually have problems with the wifi after flashing myself, but heres how I do it:
1. Flash either stock or pre-rooted rom from the thread in xda. Doesn't matter if wifi isn't working here.
(1.5. Root the stock rom with cf-auto-root if it's not already).
2. Install triangle away, and use it.
3. After triangle away finishes up and gives you the option to go to download mode, do that.
4. Flash stock rom (or whatever rom you want), with auto reboot off.
5. Power down phone after its finished. Then power back up, and go into the recovery (it should be the stock recovery).
6. Do "Wipe data partition" then "Wipe cache partition" (phone will reboot after doing this one). You want to go directly to download mode again after the phone reboots.
7. Flash the modem, as "Phone" in odin, with auto reboot off.
8. Restart phone again into download mode, flash modem again with auto reboot off. Then start up phone as normally when flashing is done. Hopefully the wifi works after that.
It is long, and sometimes doesn't work but its my best method so far. Using triangle away seems to help it.
EDIT: Triangle away gives you the option to go straight to download mode after it finishes. Also there is a thread here on xda which has all the modems. If you are restoring to MGA, the Omega thread has the modem in the installation instructions I think.
Hi,
Modems are HERE
Ive been trying to upgrade my rooted I9505 to 4.3 without getting any of the knox bootloader.
I have installed I9505XXUEMK8-PRE-ROOTED-DeOdex-KNOXFree-SupeSlim-CWM.zip via TWRP but get really intermittent signal & data (no entry is on most the time).
I tried upgrading my modem via ODIN to I9505_XXUEMK8_MODEM.tar but after the reboot the modem is still MGA (tried several times once without the reboot option ticked)
I've also tried finding my CSC using *#1234# but every time it loads SuperSU and when i press back it just goes to Phone.
Any suggestions or past experiences welcome and greatly appreciated. I really wanna check out the hidden permissions control in 4.3

I have just done that but installed rom using Philz
Modem tar file must go into PHONE in Odin
Autoreboot must be unticked
Flash modem once
Reboot straight into download again
Flash modem again
Important modem must be flashed twice
That's worked thanks very muchly. Will now test for a few hours to make sure it solved the intermittent signal issue
to clarify for anyone else trying this:
1) boot to download mode
2) select modem as PHONE
3) untick auto-reboot
4) click start, wait for red text on phone to say END (ODIN will say RES OK!!)
5) hold power button to power off
6) boot straight back into Download mode
7) exit ODIN and reopen
8) follow steps 2 -> 5
9) boot back to android and check it worked
Hello everyone I have a weird issue here and I am in need of some help. I was running a stock MK2 rooted rom, with the modem/firmware MK2 with the MF9 bootloader. When the first NAE (4.4) ROM popped up I decided to give it a try and installed it without getting the NAE modem first. The ROM wouldn't get past the splash screen and other users experienced this too, I figured I should get the NAE modem so I installed it and rebooted hoping it would get past the splash screen. I came to a conclusion that it probably isnt going to work right now so I did a nandroid restore back to my stock MK2 ROM. Upon booting it up I had no data, signal bars with a red X and in About Device section it says baseband unknown and in the status section everything is unknown or has no field. I thought my modem was broken so I tried a 4.4 kitkat ROM OctOS which worked perfectly and I got signal on that ROM. So this brings to me another hypothesis that my modem is fine as I could make calls and what not, no issues. However I tried reinstalling stock MK2 and for some reason I get no signal...
I am not sure whats going on here, I tried a MF9 Stock Tar and formatted the whole phone, tried installing MK2 and MF9 modem and I get no signal on the stock MK2 ROM. I am a little lost here and asking the XDA community for help, I really want to go back to my old setup. Please help me out here.
My situation is kinda similar to yours. I also had no service and got an Unknown baseband message in Settings when I went from stock rooted MK2 (with stock MK2 kernel and MF9 bootloader) to the new NAE ROM and NAE baseband.
I suspect that NAE requires a Knox bootloader for service to work.
Anyhow, to go back to a fully functional MK2 state, here's what I did:
1. Restored my MK2 Nandroid using Philz's recovery.
2. Booted directly into Download mode from Philz and flashed back the MK2 modem with Odin 3.07.
3. Rebooted phone and everything fully works again.

modem didn't stick maybe?
Had issues playing with the new modem and nae ROMs. Unknown baseband and no days. Even a ##72786# led to a blank screen with no option to reset. So I played around with different install techniques and got a ROM to fully function.
Unknownforces stock rooted nae. From android development forum.
1. Clean to install new ROM using Philz 6.0.8.9(what I used) said any can be used
2. Even of you have already flashed new modern do it again now
A. Power completely off
B. Go into download mode
C. Odin new NAE modem(auto reboot and freset unchecked)
D. After Pass reboot into recovery
3. Clean wipe for new install
4. Install unknown forces ROM
5. Reboot and enjoy data working and WiFi working
Hello people,
So here is what i have done :
Galaxy S5 stock > Rooted > Recovery installed > Omega ROM V16 Android 5.0 installed worked fine >(problem started here) I wanted to install Wanam for my phone, so i flashed the .zip into recovery then i experienced a boot loop, so i wiped & clean for a new room & re-install Omega ROM V17, then the phone work well.
So, then i wanted to install Omega ROM V13 (android 4.4), so my phone is now stuck on Samsung Galaxy S5 nothing happend..
I testing manything :
- Re-install rom with FULL WIPE
- WIPE ALL & Install STOCK ROM via Odin
- WIPE ALL > Root > Recovery > Stock rom via Odin
- WIPE ALL > Stock Rom via Odin
- WIPE ALL > Root > Recovery > Omega V17
- WIPE ALL > Root > Recovery > Omega V13
Almost 4 hours im on the problem ..
EDIT: I'm actually download the latest android 5.0 stock rom, i will try to install her via Odin and tell you what happend.. i'm terribly sad at this moment did i killed my phone ?..
Any idea please ?
Thanks !
If you are on 5.0 firmware and trying to flash a pre-5.0 rom it will not work. Unless I misunderstand your post, you need to Odin a 4.4 tar in order to be on the correct bootloader.

No need to leave battery out for 3 hours.
Just full wipe before downgrade -> turn off -> battery out for 30s ->boot do download mode ->flash kitkat via ODIN.
TADA

Yeah know that, i just leave it while i'm worked this morning ^^
That worked for 5.0, i'm testing right now with KitKat.
Okay, got problem, when i install stock KitKat room, my phone keep rebooting in Samsung logo, even if wipe all..
SOLVED: All you need to do, wipe data + cache, go into download mode, load up your stock rom & make sure to check the case "Update Bootloader" in Odin.
Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade my SM-900 (ha3g) from Kitkat to Lollipop.
I've flashed the latest TWRP and the 5.0 bootloader via ODIN.
I then use TWRP to flash the ROM (I've tried CM and a couple others) - I wipe the necessary file systems prior to wiping and then select the zip to flash it. It flashes fine. I reboot the system and after the Samsung SM-900 screen comes up, it just remains black. Nothing appears. I've waited quite a while in the event it was just initializing, but that's not the case. I've also tried to wipe the caches and factory reset AFTER flashing, but that does not fix the issue.
The phone will just not boot.
Anyone ever experience something like this?
Thanks!
Is a stock LP ROM available for your phone one sammobile.com? If there is, it can be flashed via Odin.
There is, before I try that, is that really my only option? I mean, there must be logical explanation as to why this is happening. I just can't find it via search here or on google .
Three things,
1- Make sure you are using a ROM for N900, not N9005.
2- Check the MD5 value of the ROM you are flashing.
3- How long are you waiting after flashing the ROM? It actually takes quite a long for the first boot, around 5 minutes or so.
Let us know what happens.
Tried those to no avail, unfortunately...
So I flashed a stock ROM with ODIN, and then flashed Cyanogen and it worked. Maybe the modem or some other image wasn't updated and interfering. No idea.
So, mystery solved.
Thanks guys .
