[Q] How 2 - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the new Galaxy S5 and I registered one fingerprint. My problem is I forgot the alternative password and I can't modify it.
How can I replace this alternative pass?

Use your fingerprint you set to change it?

Worked perfect for me....
Install keyboard like normal apk & themes apk files too..
Then copy paste lines given on thread to buildprop. Also put AndroidEmoji.ttf to System/fonts (backup old one), set permission 644. Reboot!!

How do i set the permission 644?
I did all the things but still no emoji.
I get the keyboard but can't se the emoji. blank spaces... :silly:
Edit: got root browser and changed the settings to 644. But no Emoji.
Cant see them on the phone but when i send them people can see them.
I have a solution for this. But I can't post it... odd!
My girlfriend's got an unrooted S4. Is there any possibility for her to get a newer LG Keyboard without rooting her device?
Thanks in advance

Sorry mate… don’t think so… you see, you have to get access to the system folder i order to copy and alter the files. But if you figure out a way to do that without root… then good for you mate. Good luck… :good:

Your Android Version has an extra period (.) in it as well.
It might be from a rom or xposed module you're running. Its weird. If it doesn't affect the functionality of the phone then I would say dont worry about it.
Edit:
Open Root Explorer and go to System. Long press on built.prop and choose "Open in text editor". Look for "ro.product.model=SM-N900Z" and change the Z to a V. Click menu and save. Reboot and you're all set. Click thanks if I helped ?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 3 ?
That worked. I fixed the extra . In version as well.
I lost samsung apps....is the apk anywhere?

Umm HV u tried changing the build prop to change ur device code to SM9005? See the thread in themes and apps section
The s5 systemui is hidden inside the KitKat.. So when s5 is detected by the systemui it changes according to it

I'm interested in this too. @T3snake What thread did you talk about? Is it safe to change the device code in build.prop? Are there any side-effects?
[EDIT]
Found it! That's the thread for someone else who's interested in --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../galaxy-s5s-round-icons-notification-t2811929
Remember to make system writable in order to modify the build.prop! Many thanks to @ethical ricado for the thread and to @T3snake to make it highlighted!

[Q] Firefox-Account, where does it come from?

It's only a very short question. The last days I was thinking about that thing. If you go to "Accounts" you'll see, that you can register a Firefox-Account. I want to know, which apk provides that functionality, because I haven't found anything. It's not the big impoertant wuestion, but I bothers me also. Maybe someone knows the answer.
Thanks in advance.
It's a stock feature enabling the sync between your other devices Firefox browser an DC your current Note 4.

What do you mean by "stock feature"?
Baked into Android? Or Touchwiz?
My question was where it comes from, as there must be one apk which invokes that into the system...

Yeah... I thought so, but that doesn't help me further in my investigation from which place EXACTLY it comes.
But nevermind, it's not as important and if I have time I will make a nandroid and play around.
